Hello girls, I am a dear friend of Esperanza from a previous thread that we use to share. I just jumped on to check up on her and to say I hello. Hope you don't mind.

Esperanza glad to hear that things are gong well for you. It's possibly a girl huh. Michaela will truly have a college roommate and good friend. I see that you are having problems with maternity wear. To give you a little advice on what I did. I bouth only a few pair of maternity pants and just repeated them (not a problem as long as they're clean) but I bought a ton of tops to make it look like I had many different styles. None of my tops were actually maternity tops, I just bought bigger sizes (full figured) blouses and tops. They were regular clothes so you could find some nice styles. I was always a sexy pregnany mama and got comments all the time on how cute I was dressed while pregnant. I am always pretty fashionable and I didn't change that just because I was pregnant (smile).

Well don't want to crash the thread. PM me sometimes and I'm so happy for you.

There are new pics of Michaela from halloween on her website http://michaelaskye.shutterfly.com. Take a look when you get a chance. Time is flying by, she will be 2 months old next week and she has changed alot.

Good luck to all of you wonderful ladies who are embarking upon this wonderful journey. My IVF baby girl arrived on September 19, 2008 and she is truly the apple of my eye. All that you are going through right now will be well worth the joy that they bring in the end. Hang in there and keep your head up. It's a great experience.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

Annie - I am praying to God that you get out of all this stress quickly. I am also so thankful to God that He has put you in safe hands as I can see from your post that doc is taking good care of you. God bless u and your baby!! I believe everything will be absolutely fine and very soon.

rhall - Glad you are back after a long time!!! Don't worry about the movements. It usually gets regular, frequent and apparent after 23-24th week. If you are on a heavier side (more fat on belly) like me, you will feel some flutters, flipping etc more than kicking. Just be assured of what shown on the screen on u/s.

alreadyblessed - We are not finding about the sex of the baby. It is not legally permitted in India. So, surprise for us!!! :) And we are waiting for this since forever!!

Off late I have been experiencing lots of Braxton Hicks. I hope its because of dehydration and nothing else. However I am trying to keep my water level up.

Washingtonda - We love to have people here especially who have experience and are ready to share. So you are most welcome!!!
God bless u and ur family!!

Hugs and wishes all around!!!

Rhall- I, like you, am not quite sure I have felt any actual movements yet. This will be my second child and I didn't feel the first one really move til about 24 weeks. I'm only just about 19 weeks now. Trust me, it will come, and you will know for sure. Good Luck!!

AMAZU~ I just realized that you posted right before me, and I didn't even realize it. You are going through such a roller coaster ride right now, and I am so sorry for that. I can only compare it to when I had those horrible episodes of bleeding. Please try to stay strong and positive. You are in the best possible place you could be right now, and you have all those wonderful healthcare professionals taking care of you and your beautiful daughter. I will continue to keep you, your baby and DH in prayer, and I know that God has his hand on all of you. I am looking forward to hearing that all your tests continue to come back normal, and await the day that you tell us you are feeling wonderful, and are out of the hospital. Glad to have you back on the thread with us. We missed you!

Rhall~ this is the third time I have gone through this wonderful journey, and with my first pregnancy, I started feeling movement around 18 weeks, but wasn't sure what it was initially until it got really precise. The second one, I felt at 16wks because I was thinner, and knew exactly what to expect. This pregnancy, I began much heavier than the previous two, and have been feeling slight movements on and off for the past week or so ( I am at 19 wks tomorrow). You may want to try drinking a big glass of orange juice, and then laying still for a while. If you feel anything and say to yourself "I wonder if that was it" chances are...it was. enjoy!

Sonu~ It must be so hard for you to have to wait to find out the sex, but at the same time, it will be the ultimate of surprises. How exciting!!! Do you have any feelings as to boy or girl? What does DH think? Either way, you will enjoy the moment like nothing before!!!

Washingtonda~ Welcome welcome, and many congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!!! My oldest daughters birthday is Sept. 17th, and I remember that day like it was yesterday. Feel free to pop in on our thread whenever you like. It's refreshing to hear about the birth of a new baby! God bless!!!!

Hi all,
We are sharing the progression of our pregnancies and a lot of worries accumulate with the joys of pregnancy. Amazu, hope you are more stable and that your daughter will hold on just a bit more!

Our struggles put us very close to our female ancestors and their anguished predictment: they knew very well about the 25 -40% risk of maternal nearbirth death. And they also kenw that 50% of their babies would be taken away before the second birthday (the "natural" birth control system we "ruined" with soap, antibiotics and vaccines). Still, these women felt loved and protected by the source of Life...
A century later, we fear different risks...and it is hard to figure out how priviledged we are, with all the resources available in our developed countries. But our fears and worries are as real as that of our great grandmothers.
Sonu...now I know more about what changes after we have a baby, thanks! I did take progesterone until my 12th week and everything has been fine since then. No, I won't try another baby...being 50 and raising triplets will take all of my energy (and DH too!). We may adopt a non-typical child, though, because we both work in the mental health field and feel sorry for the waiting list in the national adoption program.
Alreadyblessed, congratulations on your boy! I am looking forward to read about the amnio results. And thanks for the bidet suggestion: we have that in Brazil but I had never seen it here :)
On politics: I think we need to appreciate the fact that Mr. Bush is handling the power to Obama peacefully - this is the MAIN reason for a democratic government. Democracy more important than which party won. I have lived under a military dictatrorship and that is why I voted in this election with all my heart and gratitude for the US. Let's work hard for a competitive, peacefull and tolerant nation!

Babyloves...a new job? now? good luck! They must understand that the baby comes first! I am getting slower by the hour, hope that doesn't happen to you. Thanks for the ideas of places to buy clothes: I had only checked Targed and they didn't have much for the Winter - already here in New England...brrrrrr
Esperanza, congratulations on your much waited baby girl! We will try to capture our next U/S (11/21) on camera. Do you have more risk of dehidration living in a dry climate? Are you drinking a lot of water?
Best wishes, Literatriz

Hello ladies!
I am happy to report that the doctors office called me today and said that the results of the amnio were all NORMAL. She then asked if I wanted to know the sex and I said yes. She told me we were having a boy. If my husband was more flexible, I swear he'd be doing backflips across my living room. It is so wonderful for us that we have two beautiful girls, and now we will complete our family with a little boy. God has truly blessed us and I am so grateful! After waiting 2 weeks for the amnio results (which usually take 7-10 days), we got the news today, on what would have been my grandmothers 92nd birthday. I am convinced that both my grandmother and my husbands father had a hand in this pregnancy from the beginning. Well, we are absolutely gushing over here, and I had to share the news, so be well everyone. God bless!

WashingtonDA, my 2ww bud! yes, now our kids can be college roommies for real :D Thank you so much for checking on me, I REALLY appreciate it. I sometimes wonder about you and the other ladies from the original dec/jan thread, I know you're all busy mamas and don't have time to post as much. Michaella is absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing the pics with me. I love the ones with her and dh, very endearing.
Also, thank you on the clothing tips. I appreciate that. Like you, I like to look cute and I don't want to stop that just because I'm pregnant ;)

Hugs to you and a big kiss to Michaella for me.

Hello my dears.

AMAZU--thank you for writing and updating us on your situation. Honey, I am praying hard for you. I'm sending you lots of blessings from the distance for a healthy and happy end to your journey. Your baby girl is just like her mama, strong!

ALREADYBLESSED--Congrats on the great amnio results. Yay!!!! a little boy, indeed a blessing :) Enjoy the celebration. Hahaha, I'm just watching this huggies commercial where a dad is changing his little boy's diaper and the baby keeps peeing all over the place...it made me think of you and your boy, get ready for that!

I do have a ticker. You can't see it? I can, but now I'm wondering if other people can see it. In any case I am 19 weeks today. I was only 18 weeks when they did the u/s, that's why they want me to go back in a couple of weeks to double check, but the technician was certain that we are having a girl ;) My aunty back home already bought her a traditional Venezuelan doll. I almost cried when I read the e-mail, I just think that is so sweet of her to do that.

BABYLOVES--how are you doing girl? yes, my dh is really happy about having a girl, he says that if he is going to have only one child he prefers to have a girl. His dream is to be seating on the couch with me leaning on him on one side, and our little girl leaning on him on the other. Our medical providers have always been surprised to hear that from him too.
I think we loose our shame going through all these procedures. During this last transfer I actually ended up peeing while I was lying down waiting for my 15 minutes to be up. I was SO embarrassed with the nurses  and so many people have seen my vagina at this point that talking about hemorrhoids on this board feels like nothing ;)

LITERATRIZ--your postings are always so profound. Thank you for that insightful reflection and reminder. I think that if I were having triplets I would also "close the factory." ;)

Oh, I don't miss the New England cold...brrrrrr... You're right, living in the desert makes me more susceptible to dehydration. Thank you for the reminder. I'm not to up to 10 glasses of water, but I am making it a point to keep myself hydrated.

SONU--how are your braxton hicks going. I was reading about them, and I think it's quite normal at your stage. Keep yourself hydrated, but don't worry too much about it. What do they feel like? I was trying to read about it on line but I didn't get much info on what do they actually feel like.

DH and I will most likely try again. We'll see, we'd definitely like to have one more child, but we are trying to enjoy this pregnancy as much as we can because it may be our only one. We are also open to adopting, so we might look into that for our second child. Time will tell.
How's your sister doing? sending you both lots of love.

Happy rest of the week everyone!

Hi again
Esperanza~ I'm sorry, I don't know what the heck I was thinking of when I said that you didn't have a ticker posted. Clearly you do, and I see that cute little baby bouncing down the vine. :) I was cracking up when you talked about the whole dignity thing with pregnancy. It is so true. I love when the ob is way up there checking my cervix, and talking to DH about the football game last night. The best was my last "check-up". It's pretty much weight, blood pressure, and a doppler. No need to shave the legs, or trim the bush. After all, we are in November. Of course, since I had some cramping the doc decides to check my cervix, and all I could think of was my hairy legs and forest like vagina. My DH assures me that these docs don't care, but you have to stop and wonder. One of the funniest things I heard was about a middle aged woman who had an appt with her gyn. she was in a rush and grabbed a washcloth beside the sink to "freshen up" before her appt. during the appt. the doc came in started the exam and said "very nice". SHe didn't know what to think. When it was over and she was putting her undies back on, she noticed some sparkles. Turns out the wash cloth was filled with body glitter that her daughter was using. I crack up every time I think of that.
I am suffering from baby brain BIG TIME. Last night I was cooking a pot roast and I couldn't find the cooking oil that I just had put on the counter. After looking for what felt like forever, I was moved to check under the sink, since when I opened my pantry, I found the cascade there. Thank goodness I didn't wind up putting the cooking oil in the dishwasher and the cascade in the pot roast. I am normally so organized, and I am such a scatterbrain lately!!!
How sweet that your aunt bought her a doll from your home. Things like that are priceless. I had a few people knit sweaters and blankets for my girls, and I have them to this day, they are from the heart, and so wonderful.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

ALREADYBLESSED--I had to respond, OH MY GOD, I'm still laughing my a$$ off! too funny           that story about the lady and sparkles is a classic    I'm sitting by myself at a university cafeteria and I can't stop laughing, thank God I have my computer with me, at least people won't think that I'm crazy.

I have a similar story (not like the sparkles one ;) ), with the kitchen. The other day I was looking for a cover...I looked everywhere, I even got mad at dh thinking that he had done something with it, and oh Lord! it had been next to the pot the entire time. I could not believe it  In class I'm talking, trying to say something really profound and I forget words in the middle of a sentence....embarrassing

Hey! about the ticker, SONU helped me figure it out. You have to make sure you have at the end. try that.

Hey my dear sweeties!!!

:D I had a blast, a laugh riot after reading already blessed's anecdote...like Esperanza I am still laughing!! Too good!!

Already blessed - Congratulations on amino results!!! I am so glad that everything went well and the little boy is having a great time in there. Your DH has a reason to celebrate, he will have increased male quotient in the house and then later, he will have a buddy to share secrets with. :)

Lit - Your thoughts on our struggle had a different angle and it was so profound. We are in many ways so fortunate than our female ancestors who had to struggle in many ways. For instance, the girl was married at a very raw age and was supposed to carry the family name as soon as she reaches puberty. And the burden to give birth to male heir was phenomenal. I understand that this tradition was followed by many paternal cultures all around the world. We have definitely come a long way and being a History teacher I make sure that my students appreciate this fact.
Oh. and that question was definitly nt for u!! But who knows that u are so overwhelmed with the fact of raising 3 kids at a time, that u decide on another spree in couple of years!!!...joking!! :D

hugs ...will write mre later.

Hey all...

Sorry for writing in installments!!! Have suddenly started feeling heavy and tired. With one in the belly, I am like this, can't imagine Lit. Anyways, no complains, have waited for this fatigue and tiredness since forever. :)

Esperanza - Congrats on finding out that ITS A GIRL!!! :D
Your hubby's dream is so beautiful...:)
 Braxton Hicks for me are like stretching of belly muscles as if somebody is pulling from both the sides. Its not painful but just a bit uneasy. But stays for a very short time. Yup, I also read that one must be properly hydrated to avoid these, but some days I just get short of few glasses of water.

I am suffering from 'baby brain' all the time. Keep forgetting names, I have memorize hard after keeping something somewhere, to search for it again. lol.

My sis is doing great so far!! Her progesterone levels are ok now, but docs couldn't see a sac during her last u/s, so she goes again on Monday. For a second they thought that they have found one, but could not find it again.

Babyloves - how r u doing?
Anyways...take care everyone and a have a happpy and relaxing weekend!!
