Fitz - please let us know how your appt. goes today. I'll say a prayer.

Faith - Good to hear from you again! Glad all is quiet (I guess that's the best we can hope for). Super idea to have your shower now!

JG - I think you and I are in the same boat. The 4-5 pounds I've gained have all gone to the girls. I swear that if they get any bigger I am going to topple over! Ugh...was so excited they went back to normal after breastfeeding. Now back to the attack of the gigantor boobs!

AFM - had my NT sono today and the little one looks great. She/he was flipping like a fish. Next appt on 12/8 - hopefully we'll be able to find out if it's a he or she. I'm thinking girl, but will be happy either way.

specialist was unable to dectect heartbeats in the twins, it is possible that the bleeding was leading up to it- the single guy is doing very well

Fitz-

I'm so sorry for you. I know the doctors have been telling me the risks for multiples all along, but it's hard to believe this actually happens at this stage. I hope you and your family are doing ok and that your singleton continues to thrive!

Gi- New Year, fresh start! That's a good way to think of it! Please come back and keep us posted on what's going on with you. It sounds like you have a great plan, so hang in there and enjoy the holidays with a glass of wine, J, and your family before the craziness of IVF starts all over again!

Mjay- Happy 2nd Trimester! And anyone else I missed!

Geez, we're so quiet on here these days. Those June moms are catching up with our posts! :-)

I had an OB appointment today and between now and the end of January, i'll be staggering each Monday between the OB and the Maternal Fetal Specialist, so I guess my weekly u/s will continue. We just took a quick peek, saw the heartbeats and that was it, no measurements or anything like that. I had to go back to work afterwards and now i'm sitting here wondering how the heck i'm going to make it through the rest of the day. I feel like I get so worked up before appointments, that I feel exhausted the rest of the day because it my energy is all gone.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I have to present at a conference tomorrow morning, go to my best friend's bridal shower, and then host her bachelorette party, all in one day! It's going to be a longgggg crazy day! mjay and faith- we'll be at Excalibur and Trader Todd's if you're looking for something to do on Saturday night. Ha, the perfect place for a pregnant mom to be!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not posted in a while but I have been fighting spotting on and off and between work and my extra appointments, I have just been exhausted. I have been reading, though, and it seems that the spotting is a common phenomenon.

I was told the exhaustion is supposed to go away and the "nesting period" with lots of energy should start in the 2nd trimester. That would be nice but I just cannot imagine not being tired right now. I go to bed at 8 pm if I can:)

Gi - Good to hear from you. I hope the new clinic has some good suggestions for you.

Lucky- Glad to have you back. I know what you mean about the exhaustion, I feel the same way. I feel like it's never going to go away!

Fitz- I'm glad you and DH are doing well!

I forgot to mention that last week I asked my OB about twins and delivering vaginally. I was worried because every episode of "A Baby Story" I see with twins, they have c-sections. And it's a lot of episodes that i've seen. No one else seemed to know the answer to that either because they all had singletons. Well, the doctor said that both babies have to be perfectly positioned in order to do a c-section, both head down. If one is head down and the other is breech, the will do a c-section. My doctor also mentioned that many times, even when both babies are head down, she ends up having to do an emergency c-section because by the time the first baby is born, the second one is very stressed out and the heartrate drops from the wait. She said that for this reason, most of her twin mommies just schedule their c-sections so that they don't have to worry about the thought of it turning into an emergency. Since I really only care about the health of the babies and even though i'm bummed that I won't have a chance at a normal labor and delivery, I am going to go the c-section route. My new due date is April 28 (if I make it that long) because they will not allow the babies to go past 38 weeks since twins reach full term earlier than singletons and she doesn't want them to "overcook". So, that's that then.

Happy Monday, everyone!

HI all,

I hope everyone had a nice weeeknd. We did all kinds of baby prep stuff and I'm a bit in need of a break. We went mini van shopping (gasp), registered for our shower and even attended the multiples class at Northwesrtern (where we're delivering). It was awsome to get all the pregnancy/labor and delivery information totally geared towared multiples. They had some very interesting stuff to say about delivering. They only need the first baby to be head first. This opens everything up. They actually said it is almost easier if the following babies are coming out breach. They do a breach extraction and reach up in there and take em out. This puts the doctor more in control, gets em out quicker and illimates the time it could take to push remaining babies out and possibly have your cervix close up some and have to re-dialate after the first one. They did say that some doctors will only do multiples vaginally if both or all are head first, but many of the docs at Northwestern(mine included) will do it if at least the first one is.They can tell the vaginal birth possibilites by doing ultrasounds and will do them up untill the time of birth. If the first one coming is feet-first, they will schedule a C-section.

Someone asked me Saturday night if I was due soon :( At least I now realize my hugeness is not in my mind!

Also, I bought a home doppler and have been hearing my babies heartbeats very clearly. It's impossible to tell who is who, but cool, none the less.

have a good night all,

Faith
