I called and left a message to the nurse. I just can't do this PIO anymore, I don't know what the heck happened and why I got such a bad reaction but I feel like crying. I can't do any work my bum hurts so bad, I can barely walk and go up the stairs. My DH knows I am no sissy for pain so he is adamant we stop the PIO and do crinone instead. I honeslty think all this stress and pain is more detrimental than switching to crinone... I feel terrible I really wish I could do this but I just can't. even riding in the car with bumps makes me want to cry... I really hope RE understands, I am worried he is going to try to make me stick with it and think I am just being a baby. I got some sharp cramps today too, I could not tell if it was tummy or girly parts. I am praying this works. I feel so beat up right now... I wish I could home and curl up on the couch but I can't. How much progesterone are you doing? He has me on 50mg oil plus Crinone once a day, seems like a lot!

bei- sorry they are making you wait, urgh!!!! great results coming your way!

purple - my DH and I work in the same company and we live 5 min from work so we are able to have a lunch date often, it really helps. I liked your idea of babysitter but being in the same house. My MIL is in town but she does not watch him often at all. Keep those blastobabies cozy! Sorry it is so nice outside, it was gorgeous on my bed rest day too... can you lay out in the sun a bit?

PMA - silly girl - I smell like roses ;) lumpy bum roses! Glad your Dh is so helpful, mine is too but poor guy has a bad back from a car accident so sometimes it is hard for him to do too much. Plus DS is in a mommy phase, is yours? Having a house is never ending projects, we do the same thing. Weekends consumed with projects and chores and I am never caught up. What kind of dogs do you have? Good job on the 10lbs. I thought meds were going to mess up my weight but not so far. I really wished I had lost about 20 lb before getting preggers again but no luck :( I am pretty decent at computer graphic stuff so if you get another logo I can help you if you want but I do love the curly girl eating cake! Besides cramping I haven't felt anything else, I am hoping they were implantation cramps!

Kiz - how lucky, I heard Melbourne is beautiful! The reef is amazing, I saw so many gorgeous critters, sound like quite the story with the islands, share sometime! Cairns was gorgeous too but I was terrified of the beaches after hearing about the stingers and crocs!!!!

ouchy ouchy ouchy

rio - I am so sorry that the shots are giving you such problems! Lots of hugs. You are not being a baby at all, and your RE shouldn't make you feel that way, he should listen to how you feel. All these drugs can effect everyone so differently. I would also ask if you could do the IM shot in an alternate place, you can get them in the leg, hip or deltoid. When I was doing IUI's I was able to do a vaginal suppository twice a day. It was different from the ones I have gotten at this clinic though. It was a soft compounded suppository that had to be kept refrigerated. I would do one in the morning an hour before I got up and one at bedtime. Hopefully your clinic will be able to do something similar. I am on 1 ml of PIO daily, and I just had two suppositories on transfer day. I also have my MIL in town... not by choice, she actually moved here from across the county when the kids were 6 months old, just to be near us. I don't really let her watch the kids alone, I know it sounds horrible, but we have tried it twice and both times were a disaster. She just doesn't listen to the rules we have, so we have found other ways to include her in activities with the kids.

NO MORE SHOTS!!! Image
Oh what a relief! My DH was adamant about not letting it go on becuase he can't see me this miserable so I called and Crinone 2x a day!!! I read a bunch online and most places said the results are the same, so I wonder why they still have us do this painful infection?

purple- it is not awful, I feel the same way about my mother which is so sad, but she "forgets" to watch him when she is supposed to, she gives him all kinds of junk and even gets mad at me if I say to cut it up in small pieces so it is not a choking hazard! So trust me, I completely understand. The running joke at our house is that it is a miracle I survived my mother! To this day she doesn't believe in SIDS and everything I do is wrong when it comes to my son. She means well but is stubborn and does not respect our rules.

Just felt another "kick" too funny and here I thought PMA was going crazy ;)

Hello all,

I hope everyone is well. The spotting has stopped and my RE is impressed with how we are progressing. My E2 numbers jumped a little they were happy and shocked. I have a little cramping, but all is well. Thank you everyone for asking and the support.

tryn4#2-I am so sorry to hear about your cancellation. My thoughts are with you.

PMA-Congrats on the website. That is awesome.

Maybe-I am a first timer too. It has been a crazy and emotional time.

Rio-Congrats on the PUPO. I sending sticky dust and I can't wait to hear about your BFP! Yeah no more mean shots.

Kiz-We are doing ICSI. When my husband had his done, he was so drugged up I don't even think he remembered it. It was funny. He did call me later and said it hurt, but he is fine now anxiously awaiting. I think the idea of it is worse than what actually happens. He was a big baby for weeks prior to it.

Purplefish-Congrats on all making it to the blasto stage. That is awesome. Congrats on the new status of PUPO and sending sticky dust your way.

bei-Sending happy thoughts your way. Bed rest? That would be hard. Only one more day.

I am thinking about you all that are experiencing this journey with me. Good luck, hopefully I will be back tomorrow to read all the good news.

Rio- that's awesome that you don't have to do the shots anymore! Sounds like it was really awful for you. I'm not looking forward to that.

Bei- I love all of the updates you do! Thank you so much! It really makes it easier for me to remember what's going on and who is who!! I hope you get wonderful results tomorrow.

PMA- losing weight is awesome!! It's so hard! Good Job.

I'm extremely nervous about my Gonal F and Menopur injections this evening. I'm thrilled that I have made it this far but I guess the first time is always nerve racking. Plus my hands have been shaking and I've been sweaty since about 1pm. My mom said it's from the steriods I started this morning but I think it's a combination! I am so thankful I found this board. It has been so helpful for me. Y'all are so great.

Just a quick reply ladies - I'll do personals later!

Had BW and US today and although I have to wait until this afternoon for doc's opinion and BW results, the US looked GOOOOOOOOOOD! 19 follies above 10mm - didn't count anything smaller. No wonder my ovaries are sore! They're just tired! So US technician thought ER will be Monday or Tuesday but have to wait until doc has scene the US and BW results. I am so excited! For some reason I just keep thinking that we'll have 8 frosties by the end of all this. Not sure why, just a feeling I have! Let's see if it comes true!

Eshepard - I am sure the shots will go great! The first one is always the hardest. Just focus on the goal! I thought the gonal was the easiest, the needle is really sharp and small so it doesn't hurt, also if yours in the fridge let it sit out for a few minutes, and don't keep the needles in the fridge, cold needles = no fun. I thought the menopur burned a bit going in. My nurse said to let it sit 10-15 minutes after mixing and that helped some. I hope it goes smoothly for you tonight!

nfd034 - yay for a smooth progression!

kizmet - how wonderful! That is such great news, I am excited for you too!

Okay I can't wait to get out of this bed tomorrow :D My clinic called all 4 embryos that were left today grew and they were able to freeze all 4... a good backup plan in case this doesn't work.

just a quick note because I feel a bit dizzy and need to prepare for bed.

Rio, your posts touched me deeply. It's unbelievable what we go through to have these babies. NEVER think you're a crybaby who complains for nothing. Like purple said, we all deserve ice cream in bed for what we've done so far. I've known you a while and I know you're a tough girl, you've been through a LOT to get your little boy, you were a REAL trooper. Sure it's stressful to ask for a protocol change because you really don't want to impact on the success rates. Sure it makes you feel guilty and you question yourself... could I just clench my teeth just a couple more days, for BFP's sake? WE're all human!

Hunny, here's what my clinic says about PIO. Vaginal inserts are better, according to them. With PIO, you get one huge dose of progesterone that keeps decreasing over 24 hours. With vaginal inserts, you get several doses and that keeps your progesterone levels more even. Apparently, it's more natural and better for your body. Is it better BFP-wise, I don't know. But be sure that your doctor will do everything he/she can to make sure the clinic's stats look good. He/she would never put your cycle at risk by switching you to meds that may lower your chances.

All roads lead to Rome sweetheart. Trust the process and enjoy the bum recovery (you poor thing, that PIO is barbaric if you ask me)

*MEGA HUG* and now I'll jump in the shower!

Sophie xxox

PS I had cramping at the beginning of my 2ww but it seems to be gone now. But I do feel that my uterus is a bit swollen and heavy. Nice and comfy, and filled with blastobabies! :D

Hi,

This is my first time of IVF which im feeling a little bit negative as before IVF i did IUI which all 3 times was a negative so being positive im really struggeling to do. When you talk about it to friends and family they say ' think possitive' which is easier said than done. The stage im at is on Sun 16th May im having the embreo transfere. I have read all of the blogs regarding do's and dont's which is all madness lol.I was told that i had 5 eggs taken out then only 4 fertilized, 2 of them split 2-4 then the other 2 split 3-4 which is very good but only one they will use. Ive got all mixed emotions going on and just cross my fingers and toes it works but reading on here only 1 person fell preg the first time of IVF makes me think ive got a very long road ahead of me!!!!! Can somone please tell me if they have had similar experiance as me and fell preg first time or if not points just to help me get on and think positive??? Thanks regards lisa. :)

bei - oh sweetie, it must be so hard waiting for such important news. <hugs> What the heck is the clinic doing with your bloodwork that is taking forever. It is such an emotional time and waiting can be so stressful! Thank goodness you have such a sweet loving husband to help you through this. I know you have been through such a long fertility struggle, I am hoping and praying that this time everything goes great for you! Hang in there!
