Hello everyone,

I have been busy at work trying to keep my mind active. I am so tired lately (must be stims!).

I am now a little concerned as I had my first scan day 7 of stims and only had 9 follicles. 6 on one side and 3 on the other. They tell me that it is quality not quantity but is this normal - should I be worried..?

I am due to go back tomorrow for another scan - I am also concerned as my lining is currently 12.5mm on day 7.. This seem a lot so early.

Am I just worrying for nothing.?

Love to all

Pootle - You are doing excellent with 9 follies! Your clinic is absolutely correct - it is not the quantity but the quality. My clinic doesn't even like to work with anything more then 10 follies. You are probably tired because of the stimming and all the work your body is doing..hang in there and focus on the end result.

Hi Pootle

Just want to reassure you on the follicles. I didnt respond at all to stims at first, so I had no follicles at first scan! They altered my dose and a few days later I had 8 follicles. Next scan they only found 7! (must have miscalculated on prev scan!) Anyway, the scan prior to EC showed a lot more follicles (although some quite small). Still got 12 eggs on EC day, so a lot can happen in a few days. I was just a late starter! I do remember one of the nurses reassuring me that she had done IVF, only had 8 follicles and got twins! So they are right, it is quality not quantity.
Good luck!

Pootle, 9 is great. I've never had more than 10 follies but have still managed 3 ET and some to freeze each time + had 3 x +ve results. Traci is spot on, many clinics are looking for around 10 follies per cycle. You're doing well, take heart!

I'm off for blood test tomorrow, not a scan as I'd thought earlier. I've noticed more hot flushes but am reasonably under control. I have felt very flat this week, haven't wanted to do anything but listen to the rain (which I love but can hardly take it up as a hobby can I?). I went swimming yesterday but that still didn't snap me out of it, I suspect it's AF which is hanging out with me right now.

Hi to everyone, we're nearly a third of the way into our month now.

Debra - it is ok to have lazy, blah days..somehow it does rejuvenate us..and isn't that what AF is for anyway?

AF is with me full force today..still with cramps and not as bad but I still feel like cr@p. I went for a jog this AM thinking if I get my energy flowing it will help with the cramps..well I had a great jog but I almost crashed on the floor coming home..the cramps hit fullforce for about 1 hour...I went to check what was happening and there was a lot of brown (sorry tmi) which means my body is really under stress to get the old stuff out...after the 1 hour AF was a flowing, red. Also went for a walk with the dogs and visualized my body fighting the cramps, endo shedding, and follies growing...I thought I would practice the visualization prior to treatment.

How is everyone doing?

Lisa, 18 is is HUGE number, well done! Good luck with the scans and here's wishing you a cramp-free next 5 days.

Traci, glad things calmed down. AF is a powerful thing isn't it? I like the idea of visualisation putting a positive spin on it. Mine ended today...HOORAY, my last for at least a year I hope.

Hi all other September buddies....not long now....

hugs

Gonal-F and Ovidril - Sept.

Post by puddin »

Hello,
I am starting my first dose of both Gonal-F and Ovidrel in Sept.
I don't know what to expect ... if anything.

If anyone out there has been on either med, please share what you experienced.

I'd like to have an idea of if there are any typical side affects, how soon you "feel" them after the injection, where you injected med, and anything else you think is important for a "newbie" to know about.

Any info. would be greattttttly appreciated!
Thanks so much.
God bless and good luck to all!

Hi Ladies,

Debra, how are you doing? Almost ready to start stims :) How did your blood test go?

Traci, how are you doing? Great idea on the creative visulization!! Good for you! Hope your doing better and tmt will start soon.

Colleen, how's everything going with your tmt? How's the lupron going?

Sue, you poor girl. You really do need to take a break you know!! You must be excited now, 1 more day before you start stims.

Smita, how are you feeling? How's everything coming along?

How's the sniffing going Jay? Do you find it makes your nose stuffed up or give you a runny nose? It did for me.

Brs888, how's your little follies doing? When's your et date? Praying for you and your embies.

Pootle, I wouldn't be worried about how many follies you have. Look at the bright side....*you have some* ;) Take care of yourself. I know how you feel about being tired all the time. I felt the same, but just remember it's a side effect of everything and it won't last.

Randa, where are you? Hope your ok and come back soon to tell us you've just been busy or something.

Good luck with all your follies Lisa, have my fingers crossed for you.

To everyone else, sorry if I missed anyone. Your all in my thoughts and prayers. Gooo Septembies!

Huggs

I do plan on taking things easy once i start stimms, good news is brother in law is coming on saturday to knock kitchen ceiling down and put new wiring in kitchen, so we have progress. Only a few more weeks and we will have a kitchen sink :D I had to drain a tin of tuna down the outside drain the other day and suddenly thought i will have the neighbourhood cats hanging around thinking i provide lunch!!!, so will be giving that a miss

Will pop in later to catch up with everyone

take care & good luck

GOODMORNING GIRLS......

JUST GOT BACK.... 19 MATURING FOLLIES 14 TO 18MM. THEY SAY THERE ARE 15 MORE BUT THOSE PROBABLY WON'T MATURE BY THE TIME I AM READY TO GO. FEELING GOOD.. THEY TOOK A BUNCH OF TESTS TODAY CBC, PLATELETS, LIVER FUNCTION, & HORMONES. I AM ON MY WAY NOW TO MY REGULAR GP BECAUSE I HAVE A SINUS INFECTION AND WANT TO GET MEDICINE SO I DONT GET SICK FOR RETRIEVAL...

AS TO THE QUESTIONS OF THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE MEDS. I DIDN'T HAVE TOO MANY EXCEPT FOR HOT FLASHES WITH THE LUPRON. THE STIMS, WELL NOT MUCH UNTIL NOW. THEY JUST BURN WHEN BEING INJECTED. I AM A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN SITTING DOWN.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND LETS KEEP THOSE SMILEYS GOING

Hi Everyone

I am on day 6 of my Buserlin Spray, I am having a Frozen cycle. I have got 12 frosties. Am hoping for my transfer to be early October. I have to wait for a bleed (I can't remember how long after sniffing does AF normally arrive) - I think the hospital told me to expect it within 10 days - Can anyone shed any light on this. Once that it here I have to reduce my sniffing to twice a day and then take oestradoil one tablet, three times per day for 14-21 days and then they arrnage a date for the embryos to be put back. A couple of days before transfer I have to start using the progesteron suppostries, not once but twice a day this time around - On my fresh cycle I only had to use them in the evening.

Anyway I am really going try to have a PMA this time around, last time I must admit I was really negative and kept thinking I am not that lucky for it to work first time, silly I know because it can. I am having Acupuncture this time around and have also asked the hospital if it is OK if I take Aspirin after the transfer and they said that if I wanted to I could purchase these from a chemist and that it would cause me no harm so I am going to give it a go. I am eating plenty of fruit and veg and trying to get myself into top condition (difficult).

The only part I am not looking forward to is the dreaded 2WW again but I am determined to keep occupied, not get stressed and keep POSITIVE.

Good luck to you all and sending buby dust your way.
