Anybody IVF progesterone ring study in Texas?

Okay Stress...take a deep breath!!!!!

ICSI breaks the shell of the egg too, hence it's really helping the implantation as does Assisted hatching. AH is not covered, not allowed and not DONE for this study!!!! That is why she assured us that if it looked like we needed assisted hatching then they would do ICSI to break that outer shell....hence not stressing so much about AH, they'll work around it!!!

As far as the same study....ummm yep! I've met many many women on the other group and all of them have said that ICSI is paid for out of their study. Most of the ladies are going to CORM in TX and most of them didn't have to pay anything out of pocket either....so while we're all getting different information from our different locations, we are all under the same Duramed study requirements and for some unknown reason ICSi must not be covered under your locations protocol....which again I find really odd since it's been covered everywhere else, doesn't seem fair.

Sorry that you feel so stressed, I'm just not really sure what to say anymore to ease your frustration?

Indie: Thanks...well I am not too worried now...becoz we cannot undo what we did...hehehe...

Its is not fair to charge for ICSI when its not done for others in other states...do you know any thread where the ladies are doing this study...and if any texan is in that study????

Beccatx – great news on the beta, and yeah, do they just not understand that we want all of the information

StayingPositive – I’m happy to hear you’re feeling a little better, time is really the only thing that can help in any way. I’m so sorry to hear about your friends husband, but you’re right in that it is incredibly difficult to deal with our own sadness and we do not always have any energy left over for others. Just take care of yourself and DH, that's all that really matters right now.

Stressball – You really need to just relax or you’re going to worry yourself crazy. Take a deep breath, go in tomorrow morning for the ER and let the rest fall into place. There is absolutely nothing you can do but have faith that this is your time, but do all you can to just take it easy and give yourself a break!!

IndieBlue – Glad to see you started BCP’s, I’m doing my best to be right behind you. I’m going on 3 days late now, always seems the case when I’m waiting AF for to arrive

Angram: I guess I will have to write down a list of the things that TFC can miss and you got to watch out....their staff for the study sucks..otherwise theyare really good...not sure about the lab though...do you know the lab stats and why do they not take insurance...I sometimes wonder if they are affiliated with someone or not?

stressball - My first IVF was through TFC and it was also a study, although obviously it didn't work cause I'm here a month later

They really didn't give me much info on the first one (other than the study printout), I just searched everything online and then asked questions. I was dissapointed that they do not give calendars or walk you through the actual IVF process, since it was my first time, but I figured everything out on my own. I'm not sure about the lab stats, but I know they're not affiliated with TFC. I'm also not sure why they do not take insurance, but my DH and I are fighting the insurance right now on out-of-network charges. I've had friends that have gone through the same at TFC and won the battle with the lab, so hopefully I'll do the same.

Stress- just FYI, ICSI was included in the study for us- it was necessary- we knew it would be from the out set. I can't believe your clinic seems to have different rules than most of us. I feel your frustration and am praying for a peace that passes understanding.

Indie- I had one of those dreams about 2-3 nights after the transfer. I woke up in a panic because I knew the rule of no orgasms...I searched the interent and actually felt like it would be fine and was even a little encouraged because apparently a lot of pregnant women had that happen to them- I had a couple of sex dreams that first week! None since!

It's like one of those things...you tell me not to think about something and I think about it LOL I figured as long as no one mentions it, maybe I can fall asleep reading a book or something and tell hubby not to mention sex at all for those few days....LOL I'll be okay.

Angram: what study were you in? I had given my name for being a study participant in mid of 07...but nobody called...I found out about this study on my own...

I did regular IVF the first time...and since it was the first time I was very alert...and did lot of reserach on my own...but surely the regular IVF nurse was on it and was very clear on everthing...also...they told me about the process in detail in the begining and then as time came they reminded everything one more time....I can see the difference....also my study nurse is available only 3 days a week and first time she was there all five days....

FYI: In our clinic ICSI is out of pocket...unlike other places.....I found out that houston clinic took 500 dollars for the whole study... including the meds and icsi .....but not to complain..something is better than nothing....also about the lab...we also fought the insurance....and told them to make it "in network" benefits since Austin Ivf IS THE ONLY ivf lab in the whole AUSTIN....and surely we got covered last time...

Me: waiting on DH so that we can eat..sleep and get up at 4.30 AM...OUCH.....Giving a sample that early would be a bigger OUCHY for my DH....

Becca...yes...I remember...i LOOK upto you and say to myself...if things are NOT looking very good....(which did happen in your case.)..keep your chin up....may be there is a light at the end of the tunnel...like you did.....may be I will be discussing beta with you soon...

Good morning Stress! It's 5:45 and I'm up and hoping you are doing well at the clinic. Just want you to know someone's up at the crack of dawn and thinking of you. We'll wait patiently to hear your favorable report!

Indie- I guess it is the surge of hormones- I've had those dreams a handful of times in my life...what are the odds it would happen the one time it shouldn't. Then it's funny to read about all these other women who have the same experience and you don't feel like such a loner anymore! I did several things I was worried would harm my relults- like that O incident, returning to work the day after transfer and it was a very physically busy day (pushing book carts, picking up dozens of stacks of books, standing for lon periods to check-out to the kids), etc. I think we worry when it's really beyond our control anyway (not that we shouldn't be careful- you know what I mean)

Hubby had to be out of the house early for a job, so I got up with him and made breakfast, did a load of laundry and then went back to bed with the dogs LOL....but I was thinking of you Stress

I was thinking about the IVF process so much when I finally fell back asleep I had a dream that we were all (my family) sitting at a restaurant in France? and I had a double stroller beside me with a baby in it dressed in pink and a baby dressed in blue laying right beside her

They both looked just like us....and I was just so happy. I've only had one dream like that before, when we adopted....I saw the children we adopted playing outside and having such fun, I'd never seen their pictures but I knew they were mine. When we finally got matched and I got their pictures it was the children I'd dreamed of (minus one...LOL) It was very comforting while somewhat eerie.

Well, off to music lessons and our last Science class...YAY. Tomorrow my meds should be here

Oh and did all you ladies here that Duramed is closing the study to new enrollee's in 2 weeks? I read that yesterday....as well as something about them not giving us our Beta numbers until after the 2nd Beta test!

I just read all of the dreaming posts, too funny!!! I dreamt last night that I had to do another transfer and I was at Seattle Grace from "Grey's Anatomy"! Does anyone watch the show? Alex performed the transfer. It was the wierdest dream ever!

Stress: I am thinking about you today and sending ****sticky vibes**** your way and praying for a smooth ET and your BFP. I completely understand your frustration with the differences in clinics and with the study. Especially, when the study nurse doesn't have it all together. Hang in there! Also, thank you for including my friend in your prayers, she could really use it!

Indie: What an amazing dream! I hope that it comes true for you like it did before! I truly believe in some dreams reflecting what is to come. As long as I don't have to do another ET with an actor for a doctor!!!

Angram: Thank you for the kind words. I met my friend yesterday and I just felt so sorry for her. I can't even imagine what she is going through. He was so young and it was so sudden. It definitely puts the anxiety and worry I feel in perspective. It reminds me to be grateful of all the opportunities life affords me and to not take it for granted for one second.

Becca: Did you have any symptoms or pain or anything right before your PT? I still have sore breasts and I think the last two BFN's that feeling had gone away. I hope this is a good sign. Also, I had some pain behind my belly button all day yesterday. It was not period cramps. Maybe it is my uterus expanding??? I dunno. It's true how you notice every little ache and pain. I keep thinking that they are GOOD pains!

I just wanted to add how much I love this board! It really helps me to pass the time during this 2ww and see what you all are up to. So, thanks again!

Staying positive: I can't remember pain behind my belly button, but definitley sore boobs- I think they stayed sore from all the stim meds and stuff also...no reprive, but I welcomed it too. I did have lots of mentrual type cramps and still do occasionally. Now slight naseau off and on all day and night, but bring it on! In fact, I want as many symtoms as possible becasue it reassures me. I think IVF makes us crazy! Is your beta today? oh my gosh

Indie- good dream...I hope it comes true...maybe the French Quarter is a little closer to home though! Or we have a Paris, Texas... Where do y'all go for science lessons(that's cool)...what ages are your home schoolers- it sounds like you do so much outside supplementation- that's awesome. What is your philosophy behind home schooling? I mean, do you feel like you can give them a more individualized education, do you dislike the public schools in your area, is it a to keep them away from outside influences that would be harmful...I'm just curious and fascinated by how you handle it all...I really respect people taking responsibility and being so involved in their children's education- especially when I see so many parents who barely particpate in their child's lives, much less education.

Becca: Yea...maybe we're not going to France LOL But we do visit France in Epcot every year LOL

To answer your questions, the older kids take science lessons at a local science theater. Most of the lessons are based on experiments, so lots of hands on learning and we do more 'book' learning on Science at home...with the occasional project. They enjoy it, and have some friends that attend the same classes. We actually have a 'school' here that teaches Homeschooled students all sorts of things (foreign language, lab classes, higher math...etc) so we're truly blessed to live in such a homeschool friendly area. My reason for homeschooling is pure and simple

I was tired of my children being a number in school. Both of my older children went to PS all throughout Elementary. I was there every day or every other day working in the classrooms or helping in the school as I had a very flexible job. I also served on the PTO board for years...just so I could be involved. When there was a problem, the teachers knew me by name and could come to me about my children. The middle schools in this area are COMPLETELY different. You can tell the teachers (most) are there for a JOB, not to encourage students to learn. Learning became a chore for my oldest...and he used to LOVE to learn. I didn't want them to just go through the motions to graduate, so I took matters in to my own hands. Now we're learning again...and enjoying it! When we're out with family and my oldest mentions a book he just finished...etc I'm sure I made the right decision for our family. I could go on and on with other things that helped us make the leap to homeschooling...but that is the main 'reason'

So how is everyone else? I was up throwing up last night...not fun!!! Not really sure what was wrong, maybe we did a bit too much running before supper LOL DUH! I'll know better next time....I'm not a teenager LOL, but when you're walking/running with them it's hard not to try and keep up.

My meds should be here today, but Freedom called me last night (when I was in bed and sick and no one else answered

so I have to call them back this morning and see if anything is wrong. Hope not!

Staying Positive: Another board a lady dreamed that the doctors from ER were doing her ER or ET.....how freaky LOL I think she said it was Noah Wiley and that main one, can't recall his name. Wouldn't that be uncomfortable LOL I do enjoy Scrubs though....not sure that I'd want Dr. Cox or JD doing my ER though

Stress: how did things go? And yes, I agree...something is better than nothing. Our procedure cost is 3500 and our meds cost 2500 plus it's 50.00 in gas each trip

so I completely know how unfair it seems that other clinics are charged 500.00 for the whole thing. But still, with all our fees/cost it's cheaper than a full cycle locally, and this clinic's stats are better too....so we're willing to pay it.

Angram: hope AF starts soon. I was a week late

It's cruddy when you really really want her here LOL I've sent her on her way now though...I'll send her to your house LOL (one way ticket!). Those BCP's aren't too bad, but I do get a bit sickly feeling around lunch....but it goes away soon enough. I'll be glad to be over them. Oh and they make my bb's hurt too....which I find odd? I've never taken BCP's before though so maybe that's normal.

Well, off to call Freedom

Edited to add: Ughhhh!!!! Freedom said "Ooops, your package didn't make it out last night so it looks like the earliest it can be delivered is tomorrow." Now I don't need any of this until the 14th but still....you promised delivery on the Wednesday before I needed it and you've had since the 1st to fill it all! First they lost my order, so my RE's nurse had to call it back in....now this
