Tara and Cynthia: girls, I'm so sorry you have to endure this stuff... I mean isn't it enough that we had to go through all that crap just to get pregnant, then to have all this stuff to deal with! I seriously think we are the stronger sex :) LOL!

Tara, I'm CERTAIN you will come to a decision, and whatever it is, it will be right for YOU!! I have no words of advice, because I haven't ever been where you are at. All I can say is IF it happened to me (mind you, sometimes what we actually decide isn't ever what we thought we would previously, when faced with issues like this)........... I would pray really hard about it and pray with my DH about it- but I know not everyone is a believer, so maybe you meditate or just play out all of the scenarios in your mind. Either way, I would hope I could make the best decision I could. At 35, turning 36 by the time I deliver AND having seen my baby- I would want to be prepared if there was a chance it could have downs, or whatever. I had post-partum after Ian, so for me, finding out at delivery would probably (although I'm not certain) send me over the edge.

Remember too, there is ALWAYS a percentage chance of getting a FALSE POSITIVE. Best of luck & I'll be praying for you.

Cynthia: OMG, I about tossed my cookies reading your message! I bet you felt SOOOOOOO good to see those little beans!!!!!!!!!! I'll keep you and them in my thoughts!! May put a crimp in our future plans to get together, but that's ok, so long as you take good care of those little ones!

Hello

Cynthia - Oh! What a scare, I was almost crying when I read your post. Oh my God, that had to be aweful. Sorry you had to go throught that. But, thank God, your babies are fine. Take care of yourself, and stay in bed. Keep us posted when you talk to your OB/Gyn.

Tara - I had a friend who did the amnio and Dr. said the baby had down syndrome, she had the baby, and the baby was completely normal. In my case, I'm 34 years old and don't want amnio, the Dr. haven't mentioned it but either way I'm not doing it. I am having my baby anyway. Why torture myself? So, just think, if your baby have any problem are you going to have it? if the answer is yes, then, why have the amnio. Just enjoy your pregnancy, enjoy your baby, and pray a lot, so God take control of your life and your baby. Then relax, everything will be alright.

AFM my weekend wasn't so good either. The prenatal vitamins gave me gastritis, and almost had to go to the hospital. I am calling the Ob/gyn right now to ask him to change my vitamins. I couldn't eat almost anything in the whole weekend. And to make it more interesting, I had AF symtoms too. This was suppose to be my AF weekend, so my body just act if AF was here. Does this happen to anyone else here? I have a friend who suffer from this in her pregnancy.

Hope everybody feel better today and have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Sary

I got in to see my OB this morning. A bit of wasted trip but in a good way I guess. She could have just told me everything over the phone. She didn't do an exam from fear of agitating and causing me to bleed again. Based on the records she received from ER, she concluded that it was a result of the twins fighting for spaces and "bumping" around into each other. (I'm sure there's some medical term out there somewhere for this :P ). She said it's quite common with multiples. Would be nice if someone would have shared this with me in the beginning!! Anyway, I have to go back in a week for another u/s. She was in a very positive mood and didn't seem alarmed at all. I was told to call back if the bleeding started up again or if I had any pain.

So I can relax a little for now. I feel good today at least. Just taking it easy. She didn't mention me having to go on bed rest THANK GOD! I'd go completely crazy I think. I would do it if it were called for but I'm praying I never have to.

Tara, so sorry you're having to face this decision. I wouldn't know what to do! I hate all of these "risk analysis" test. I mean I know they can be helpful but I do think sometimes they cause more headache and worry than good. Sorry I can't be of more help but like I said, I wouldn't even know what to do in your situation. I'll pray for you and whatever decision you make!

Sari, I hope you're feeling better and you get some new vitamins!

Cynthia - I'm so glad that the babies are doing good. I'm having another scare tonight. DH and I went shopping a little bit and when I got home, my underwear was soaked in blood. I called the on-call doc and he told me as long as I'm not going through a pad every 2 hours or cramping then wait until tomorrow to see my doctor. I wish I could think that my twins are fighting too for space but I already know I have a low laying placenta. I just pray I'm not put on bed rest this early but if it gives me a healthy baby, I'll do it.

I'll keep everyone posted when I know more tomorrow.

Aims, oh man, my heart just ACHES for you!!!!!!! I just can't imagine how scary this is for you. I pray you won't be put on bed rest, but what is best for the babies is best for them! They sound like they are just rockin' out! ;)

Can't wait to hear the all clear from your doc today!

AFM: I am sick of itchy skin and headaches! I'm afraid I'll have them the entire pregnancy! Anyone else experiencing the pregnancy acne and itchy dry skin? It's mostly on my calves.

Hi Ladies! wow time is flying by most of us here are in the 2nd trimester!

cymplicity27- ohh my I'm so sorry for your scare, its must of been so scary, but I'm soooo glad the babies are fine and dancing around!!!! :D

Sari- wow I've never heard that you can get that from the prenatal vitamins, as for the AF symptoms, I get them too I get a lot of discharge around the time I would be ovulating and around my period. My obgyn said it was normal.

Tara- so sorry about your results, but like others say its just a ratio that they give you its not 100% that there's something wrong. i'm going for the same test in two weeks but if something were to come back abnormal i wouldnt go for the amino since it carries a m/c risk but you should do whatever you feel is right. If further tests will make you feel more at peace then you should do it.

mt- glad to hear everything is great with you! how far along are you?

aims327- I hope everything will be ok today. Let us know how your doctors appt goes and how the babies are doing, hopefully you won't have to go on bed rest.

ianmichael3- funny thing you mention itchy skin. My both of my boobs itch soo much and i have flaky skin on my nipples and areolas i showed it to my obgyn and she said it was normal as they strech. I bough some natural moisturaizer and it seems to get better.

AFM nothing new, waiting for my NT test in less than 2 weeks I'll see the baby again. I'm so curious about the sex of the baby I can hardly wait! I've been reading alot about gender predictions and they all seem to be contradicting one says i'll have a boy the other a girl lol oh well I'll just have to wait and see!

Oh aims!! You poor thing. We have had our share of this bleeding stuff. It's so scary not knowing what's going on and when you should freak out and when you shouldn't. I hope you get some good news at your appointment and you DON'T have to go on bedrest! I'm praying for you girl!!! I was actually ready to come back to work today because I was already tired of being home. But as we all have said, you've got to do what you got to do for the babies.

I'm so on edge today. Afraid to laugh too hard, walk to fast or sneeze...I'm going crazy! I think I'm constipated too which isn't helping my situation at all.

Nicole, I'm dealing with the acne but unfortunately on my face! I have small bumps from the tip of my nose down to my chin. Nothing that a little concealer can't hide for now though  . I haven't had any itching yet.

dys24, as far as the gender thing, I suspect I have one boy in there. Baby A is so active. He was the one dancing around Sunday at the ER. At one point we zoomed in on Baby B to see if he/she was sucking his/her thumb and Baby A was bouncing into the screen shot! It was the cutest thing. He appeared to be poking at sleeping Baby B. That HAS to be a boy right?? :P

dys24, CNN just happened to have an article on an at home gender test today! Check it out: http://www.intelligender.com/

Not sure if I'd trust it but it might be fun to take. Says they have them in Walgreens I might pick up one the next time I'm there. Mine would be tricky of course with fraternal twins but it says that if it shows boy for instance, you probably have at least one boy in there. Says it's about 80% accurate. Ok honestly I don't believe it works but I also don't believe in the chinese calendars and what not but do them anyway

cymplicity27 - i just went on that web site an was sooo excited I wanted to pick this up today on my way home, and then in their FAQ i read this:

What if I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom) or am on Progesterone treatment?
We recommend that you do not test while on Progesterone (wait 10 days from last dose) or at all if you have PCOS as you will likely get a “boy” result and IntelliGender cannot represent the accuracy of this result.

I have PCOS I guess I cant do it urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :x :x :x lol If i didnt read that I would of defenitely done it, I guess i'm back to waiting till my 20th week scan lol

Oh crap dys24! I wanted one more gullible person to dive in and test with me LOL! I mentioned it to my husband and I could barely get it out and he's wanting to buy one tonight! I tried explaining to him that it may not be accurate and he didn't care. The part that sucks is that it defaults to a boy if there's any problems with the test. In other words you can be more confident if it shows girl. Of course we want a boy so that doesn't work out so well for us! If I get one I'll let you know the results in the morning

I'm back from the OB doc. He felt the bleeding was still from the low laying placenta. He said I had partial placenta previa and is still hopeful it will go where it's supposed to. I thought I would have a pelvic exam but I didn't have to. He then tried to find the heartbeats with the dopplar but couldn't tell if he found both heartbeats. So, I was able to get an ultrasound. Both babies are good. Baby A is on the side where the placenta is low and was moving around. Baby B was sleeping. The heartbeats were still strong at 165 and 168. I feel better now knowing the babies are fine but just wish the bleeding wouldn't come back. I am on bed rest for the rest of this week and can return to work on Monday. DH says I'm not allowed to do any more shopping unless he puts me in a wheelchair.

That's great news aims! That's funny, my baby A seems to do a lot more moving than baby B too. Must be something about them being lower.

Speaking of heartbeats, has anyone's been getting slower? Mine started out in the 170s and now they are at 147 and 144.

cymplicity - The heartbeats have definitely gotten slower. Mine started out in the 180's. I asked the tech doing the ultrasound if it was normal that they got slower. She said yes. The farther along we get they start slowing down.

I thought my husband was kidding about putting me in a wheelchair while shopping. But my sister-in-law came over and she was making calls to get me one. lol
