O MY GOODNESS - thank GOOOOODNESSS i rushed on here tonight to catch up .......... Gem and the signature saga!!!!!!!
Come on girl - fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice on midwifes etc - seems like everyone has a different plan. Yes Tracey Phil IS having her baby at UCH - I can't BELIEVE how selfish she is going off to have her baby without attending to my needs!

Went to sign on with GP today - ok I really don't want to sound like big time Daily Mail reader, but...........OMG, its was seriously seriously grim. I do live in a bit of a mixed borough so I wasn't expecting anything great - but if this is all the NHS can offer us - we really are stuffed. The doctors office was in a shed -covered in bars in the middle of a council estate. It STANK - I mean REALLY STANK. There was dripping water and I think fleas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm ABSOLUTELY not saying it matters what the place looks like- but dirty is something else. Finally got to see doctor - who was pretty unimpressive and very uninterested. he Asked when my last period was- I told him and he said " O well you'll need your first scan in 10 weeks"......um I'm nearly 14 weeks pregnant?!!!!!
The whole experience was totally depressing - and I'm left just wondering where my tax has gone to. Don't get me wrong I know the NHS is AMAZING ( my Dad worked for it for 40 years!) - but this was just AWFUL.
ANYWAY......we're signed on and now I'm in the hands of the hosptal (UCH) - GP told me nothing about how it works - I never intend to go back there - but at least I'm hopefully in the UCHs pipeline.
Lets hope its better!
I think I need to have a blood test in about 2 weeks (16 weeks?) so hopefully they'll realise this. DH and I now just trying to figure out if we can afford private - we ahve already spent so much to get this far and have never asked the NHS for anything - so I'm pretty annoyed - but I guess you just have to stop moaning and get on with whatever you decide. Anway thats all from me!!!! Hope everyones doing well!

Fiona - how are you babe?

I don't believe it as victor would say. Caz what a dive - makes me realize that at least my tax appears to have been well spent! I would steer well clear - I mean honestly.

See what you can get from UCH before shelling out more but it's worth it for your little one and piece of mind I guess. Now phil is out perhaps she can help - sorry I am of no use on this one

fiona, have not been around for a few days but was so glad to read
your post regarding your results, i know u have the worry about the
thin placenta, im afraid i cant really be of any help, but just to say
take it easy with plenty of rest, i wish i could do as i preach, after
having premature labour scare 2 wks ago, and promising everyone to
take it easy, i ended up in hospital yesterday, i was taking 3 mugs of
tea out to the builders and tripped and fell forward, my knees took
most of the weight, but was very upset as my partners is away,
i think it was more shock than anything, so had to have a checkup
at the hospital and all the tests were ok so they let me out.
So what im saying is just take things very very easy.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am now waiting to speak to the Fetal Medicine Centre to see if they have any advice for me.

It's very difficult to rest as my two children have now broken up from school for 8 weeks!!!! I didn't stop yesterday with them until 8pm when I had to lie down for an hour. It will be easier when I have told them, when they get back from holiday with their father a week on Sunday but there is a limit to the amount of resting I can do.

We are off on holday too on Friday and I will do nothing but eat and read. Can't wait.

Anyone else suffering from thrush. Always get it when pg, thank god for Canestan.

Tracey - can you please have the babes befor Friday or not for another 10 days til I get back?

Have just been for a spray tan. What fun. Very scary for the beautician faced with my ever increasing flabby bod and veiny boobs. She was very tactful!!!!

Hello

Just made it over to the other side - tested positive on Sunday - after that relief have started worrying about other things - still keep knicker checking and still can't quite believe it - convinced tests were faulty :D

Have scan booked on 27th July - so am now in 2nd 2ww - am back at work now and thanks to the fact that I work with some really great people who I told about my tmt can talk about it at work, which is great - helps with the believing process.

DH is totally laid back about the whole thing and has his heart set on Twins - wish I could be so cool about it rather than worrying that I won't make it to 27th. As I am 39 my age seems to be a big issue - they don't need to tell me that I have spent the last 20 years applying moisturiser to try and hold back the tide. Does your mental age count? :D

No doubt you will all tell me that I am totally normal :D

Still trying to get myself upto speed with what is happening to everyone on this side, only just got to grips with the 2wwaiters :D

Glad to be here with you -

Hello you lot

Just finished cleaning up mountains of dog sick - how can a dog be so sick - i mean like Vesuvius - last time I take her for two walks to be nice (sorry for all those still with morning sickness! )

Right - Alison - honey I do wish you could be careful says me having fallen over in some nettles with the dog and then falling in the pond etc but please do try. I know it's hard and so hard for you as you are used to being active but try - not worth having baby early - let builders carry their own tea in future ok

Fiona - every day you get through is another day - but still so hard for you. Glad to see you are getting proper advice rather than "Tracey eat lots of fruit and stuff" advice  So hard looking after the kids too but something has to give Fiona it really does so the sooner they know the better - I know right now it's a viscious circle. Glad you have a holiday at least and please make it a holiday not a running round type one!
Will try my best re having the twins - don't really want them before Friday as my birthday on thursday and Dh's (he is 8 hrs younger the git) on Friday! So will try and hang on 10 days!

Dee Dee - welcome over here you mad thing you! Must be recruitment - we all seem to be like that don't we? - you, me, Nik - anymore? I am sure Cas and Bina and Gem and Shellie etc etc will be glad to not be the new girls  I am thrilled for you and age - what's that - I am 38 thursday so hang in there.
Loads of love to all

DeeDee- welcome to this site! The 2nd 2WW is the worst I think (even though I'm 15 weeks now I'm still knocker-checking, so it's not over until it's over)....so hope you're coping OK! That first scan is truly amazing so it's worth it, but sure you know that!
Tracey - you're so right it's bliss not to be the new kids anymore! We should start a 'ONLY JUST 2nd TRIMESTER' thread.....
Fiona - have a great holiday, you deserve it and I hope you make the most of it!
Gem - got the signature sorted or are you fiddling with it, which is why we haven't heard from you?

Well, no real news from me really; getting rounder slowly, feeling a little more awake (well, making it to 11pm, which is a major achievement!), but still nauseous and sickly...! So hopefully this means everything is as it should be. Got a GP appointment tomorrow to get her advice re my midwife disaster, then 2nd blood test for integrated scan next week. fingers crossed!

Hope you're all doing well - Tracey what does the EDD chart look like?

Best,

Hi everyone

Hope that you are all keeping well. I have not been on for a while as I have not been feeling too good. A few days ago I started to have a brownie-pink discharge(tmi). I also had very bad back ache & both my sides. Tuesday night was the worst & DH sat up with me all night. Then Wednesday had an emergency appointment at my GP.

She sent me directly to the fetal assesment unit at our local hospital where I was checked over & had a scan. Thankfully my baby is fine & the sonographer said baby had a very strong heartbeat. I can't tell you how relieved I was to see baby & the heartbeat. Anyway the discharge continues so I am resting a lot now, seems to be worse at night & clears a bit during the day.
Does anyone think it could be the embryo that didn't attach. I was told that the pains are to do with all the internal adhesions I have from all my surgery (5 laporoscopies & 4 abdominal surgery) & that everything is stretching. Anyway I am just so happy that my baby is well & I will be 11 weeks on Saturday, So I may relax a bit more.

Hope you all are keeping well & good Luck to all you mums to be! :D

Take Care
Christina Proud Mum Of Bradley after successful 1st IVF.
