Hey BigJ,
I guess you're right. I hadn't realized that we are the only "wise womb women" left over here who are in a cycle.

Yes, we need recruits!!!! But I know I'll NEVER feel lonely with you! You count for about 3 people by yourself, BigJ!

My polyp extraction went very well. They took PICTURES for goodness sake! They were fairly small (about 3 of them). Snip, snip, snip and just a light bleed that's almost stopped. I woke up fine from the anesthesia. Took a wondeful nap after I got home. Neighbor is bringing over home-made chicken soup in a bit!

I'll pack tonight and I'm on a plane tomorrow at noon to head back to AZ and spend the rest of the time my hubby is away with my daughters. So goodbye scary, old, big house in Seattle (although stretching out in a kingsize bed all by myself had its moments  )

Geeze Laweeze! Between screws in my foot and polyps in my uterus, I'm tired of being operated on!!!

How are you, girlfriend? Still riding high on your good news about the start dates?

All My Best.

hmmm, just 2 of you left. I wonder who will take our places when we're all on the other side?

Randa, glad the op went well. Were the photos for you to keep?????

BigJ....not long until kick off, how exciting! Are you practicing your Spanish for your next visit? ordering dinner vs. chatting to good looking doctors!

I guess I can still post here for a while? May I???

I'd love to say I'm totally relaxed and chilled but it's not in my nature + I've still got what feel like chronic AF cramps. I tell myself it's my microscopically small guests making their presence felt but I know full well they're pinhead size or something crazy so how can I feel so uncomfortable? My scan is on 13th (7 weeks) so I'll have to wait until then.

Having some friends round tonight who I suspect are about to start treatment. We know them fairly well but always see them in company so have never talked in detail or too personally. It will be interesting to see if they say anything. The woman and I literally bumped into each other at the clinic back in January. She stuttered something about a blood test, I said 'me too', and that was that. We've not planned to say anything this evening but I'll see how it goes. DF is super cautious in nature generally so will hold quiet much longer than me.

I hope we're all well and enjoying spring? I can tell how noisy the summer is going to be from the number of giant trampolines appearing in the gardens around us, we've now got 3 in direct sight....oh joy!

hugs

Debra

I really hope that you are ok - I bet you are very, very excited about the scan. You will have to let us know what the outcome is - as you know there are all sorts of rumours flying around: one, twins, triplets ... maybe more

Look after yourself

thanks LittleP. To be honest I'm trying NOT to wish the time away. I used to do this alot and never lived for now. I do my best to enjoy everyday (doesn't always work :( ) so the 13th can come alone in it's own sweet time. Between now and then my little girl will turn 2 and then my father + wife will arrive for their first ever visit to DF and I. Lots to do, loads of work + the house still to do up!

Thanks for asking though!

Debra,
Of course you can continue to hang out here! I was hoping you would. Sounds like you've got the perfect attitude for getting through this time. I hope I fair as well.
No they did not let me keep the photos - yuk, they can have them.
I miss my hubby! He is in such a remote place that he can't even send email or call. It's been 2 weeks - half way done.

I can't wait to hear HOW pregnant you are (multiples). Please keep us informed.

Hi ladies,

Really pleased to find this 40+ thread (I more than qualify!!). Not sure how the background info appears at the top of the message but I will briefly introduce myself. I was 43 las week (had EC on my birthday would you believe!). Married in 1991. In 1994 started investigations. Had been ttc almost straight away. Had 2 IUI's around 96/97 (sorry to be so vague - it's my age!!) and two IVFs in 1998. On the first IVF I hyperstimulated big time and the cycle was cancelled but had the second treatment shortly after but unfortunately unsuccessful. Oh, we have unexplained infertility. Anyway, got on with life - didn't want this cloud hanging over our life even though best friends had two boys in their 30's - we had no choice. Have had some fabulous holidays and actually only up until just after Christmas we both said, hey, maybe we should go for it one more time - it would be so nice if we were successful but, we have been without for 14 years and life will go on. So here we are - I am in the dreaded 2ww (test - 6 May). This part is worse than anything gone before but I hope we can all gee each other along and try and have some fun at the same time. I did everything different this time (with the help of the wonderful Zita West). I started to detox over 2 months ago, have been receiving weekly acupuncture treatments since beg. Feb and had such a surprise when my FSH levels came back at 4.9. 9 eggs were collected and 6 fertilised. At day 2 we had a 6 cell, 4 cell and 2 cell to put back and two frozen (we didn't even get to frozen 7 years ago - poor quality) so to get this far has been amazing as, I am sure you are all feeling. Still life in us more mature ladies yet!! Anyway, I have gone on but look forward to chatting over the next couple of weeks. Good luck and everything crossed for us all.

Hi Meandmine (great name :D )

Firstly welcome to the boards - as you've already noticed this is a great place full of true support, encouragement and help from people who genuinely understand.

I wish you every success with the next couple of weeks and some positive news at the end - here's a ton of PMA and hugs to help get you through this time.

There's a thread here for girls testing in May - when you are feeling up to it, jump in and join them.

Take care of yourself and make sure you get plenty of R&R.

Fingers crossed

Little P

Meandmine....congrats on the great progress so far. Sounds like you made amazing efforts. We LOVE Zita on here so am glad to hear she helped you prepare.

The wonderful news about this board is that it was much, much bigger only a few weeks ago but 5 of us - Alette, Joy, Jude, Caroline and I have all had successful treatments this month and are moving over to the 'other side' eg. the 40+ Pg thread on the pregnant after treatment board. We'd love you come join us on May 6th :D

Well done for finding the board too, it's fabulous!
Welcome,
Debra

Meandmine,
WELCOME! We are the same age. So happy for your EC and transfer. As Debra says, our over-40-crowd has been highly successful. I'm sure you will be our next +!
You have already been through a lot, but chances are you'll still have some questions/concerns ahead. This message board has women who have been through EVERYTHING. When you need support, your answer will be here, I promise.
Please keep us updated as you count down your 2WW.
God Bless!

Welcome to the 40+ crew - we are + by age and hopefully + by fertility. I found out that the dreaded 2ww is just practice for the art of waiting in pregnancy. After the 1st 2ww you then get another 2ww until you have a scan then a 5ww for the next scan and so on ...............................

Please try to enjoy some pampering and relaxation and dont worry about any AF cramps, I had them throughout my initial 2ww and still continue at 7 weeks pregnant!

Just remember pregnancy is achieveable for the over 40s and never give up hope.

This message is sent with mountains of baby dust to engulf you and your precious embryos.
