Miss Molly, I'm so sorry about your embie. It's perfectly understandable that you're upset. Try to remember all the positive things you're doing for your body though for this next cycle and be sure that it's going to pay dividends soon. I hope you and DH will be able to take good care of each other this weekend.

I'm also really saddened by events in London. I'm sure everyone's thoughts and prayers are with all our friends on and off the boards over there.

Oh MissMolly, I am so sorry that your embie didn't survive. That sucks. I am not surprised that you are upset, it is really hard when you expect something to happen a particular way and it doesn't work out. Try and have a relaxing weekend with DH...watch some chick flicks, read some trash and eat all your favourite foods...that might help. Life has been very unfair to you lately and I hope you feel better soon.

Take care

MissMolly, I am sorry about your embie - I am sending lots of PMAs on your way. Snuggle up warm for the weekend and take it easy...
I too have a news for everyone, last time I posted I said we will postpone our treatment cycle to August blah blah blah ... well I changed my mind about it and decided to go ahead this month - because I discovered that deep down in my heart, I just cannot wait to start this thing  . So I rang the nurse this morning to tell them I am starting at this cycle........ Ladies, I now know what it means when people describe IVF as a real emotional rollercoaster experience. My hubby will miss out on sharing the experience with me first hand and that is a real shame but we will be ok. I know he is always there for me no matter our distance, he is my rock, he feels what I feel. And I have my family and best friends to lean on, and the super bunch here - to cheer me up and help me out; thanks to you all :D :D :D . I start taking the pill next Monday, I am ready to Rock'n Roll    :!: .

Cheers, Tiger

PS BTW can anyone help me which cycle I should join in at Gen Forum? I am bit confused, is it August Cycle that I belong to?

Hi all,
MissMolly, very sorry to hear about the embie not surviving the thaw. It is completely understandable and normal to be sad about that, take some time to grieve and look after yourself. I agree with what the others have said as well, think about all the positive stuff you're doing in preparation for your next cycle..you are doing, and have done everything you can possibly do to have a healthy and happy baby very very soon.

Tiger, pleased to hear your news, sounds like you have made a great decision. I would join the August thread..Gotta run, Annie-Boo has just woken up. Will post again later!

Thanks so much everyone for your support. It is so weird how things happen!! I was on my way to have acupuncture, but tried a few times to call my nurse to check if the embie survived (as she had called earier on, but I was in the shower - suspected bad news as she called me!). I was having trouble getting hold of her. Acupuncture was at 1340hrs. I pulled up out the front at 1332hrs, tried the nurse but still no answer. I sat there and thought I would try just one more time before I go in for my appointment. I tried her at exactly 1339hrs & she answered!! She told me the news & I got very upset - the poor nurse felt really bad that she had suggested to go for the FET after the consultant said not to (we are still glad we gave it a go). So there I am, sitting in the car ready to have acupuncture in preparation for my FET (it is now 1340hrs!). Like some sort of crazy woman, I started up the car & drove off figuring 'whats the point of having acupuncture'! I did not even ring and cancel  After DH got home, he decided to call the acupuncture clinic & explain what had happened & that I was upset. Alice, the acupuncturist was so lovely to my DH, and figured that I didn't turn up because of the cancelled cycle. I am now booked in on Wednesday & will go weekly until my EC. Thanks goodness she was not angry or anything, or I never would have gone back!!! IVF makes us a little silly!!!!!!

Tiger - That's great that you are starting your first cycle so soon. Don't let all of these silly stories put you off! Things happen along the way, but everytime you sniff that nasal spray or inject that needle, you realise that you are one step closer to your dream. I will start down regging about a week after you, so you won't be alone. I'm sure on the general forum you will find someone at exactly the same stage as you. Check out the July/August threads. Im sure I have asked before, but are you at Melbourne or Monash?

Have a lovely weekend

Miss Molly - so sorry to hear your news - perhaps there is some peace of mind in knowing that you gave it the best shot you could - and fingers crossed that a fresh cycle, now that the dr's are familiar with your reaction to the meds, will give you the perfect embie to start your family with.

Take care

MissMolly, you big dag. Glad to hear the acupuncturist was understanding, if she is treating lots of IVF patients she is probably used to it! We are a weird mob. Hope you are feeling better today and looking forward to getting on with the next treatment. Surely it has to go smoothly from here on in.

Tiger, happy also to hear that you have changed your mind. You have DHs physical contribution on ice and with the wonders of modern technology he can be there for you any time you need him. I am sure you will be fine and it is great that MissMolly and you are cycling at the same time. She is an old hat at this now and will be able to provide all the wisdom you need.

Good luck to both you gals, lets hope for lots more BFPs from the Aussie girls.

I am feeling a bit more positive today, my ovaries are hurting (yay) and I didn't feel like this at this stage last time so maybe they will turn out to be a bit more productive this time around. Thanks for the suggestions on the waste disposal, DH works across the road from a needle exchange so I am going to get him to take all the rubbish in there....I had thought of this before but we both know the people that run it (I used to work for another part of the organisation) and don't want them to know what we are up to. It is funny, I would rather they think that DH had a heroin problem (he has no shame) than know that we are doing IVF! You are right MissMolly, IVF does make us a bit silly.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Cheers

Hi all,

Tiger, Annie seems to be on the mend hopefully. The spots on her legs are starting the fade, she is still not 100 percent, but certainly seems to be improving. Her little nose is just soooo runny, and she HATES me wiping it. She turns her head away and just squirms and makes this "mmmmmmmm" noise (sounds a little like 'mum'..but maybe wishful thinking on my behalf?!?!? Her night sleeps are wonderful and have remained so throughout this sickness, so that's a wonderful thing for the sanity of her parents!!!..Glad that you are starting to sniff shortly, always made me quite excited to know that I was on the way and one step closer to meeting our baby..

MissMolly, don't stress about the accupuncture, I agree with what Heather has said, if the clinician has treated IVF chicks before, she knows that we're on a massive rollercoaster ride and therefore not always responsible with what we say and do (that was always my excuse anyway!)..I also think that the accupuncture throught the entire cycle will probably have some advantages, you'll have the treatment right from the start, surely that would be in your favour?

Heather, the needle disposal idea sounds good to me..After you raising this issue I happened across a stack of unused needles in the medicine chest, so I need to get rid of a heap as well..We have just moved the medicine chest as Annie is all of a sudden crawling (yikes!) and therefore able to get into cupboards / drawers etc..very scarey stuff!!!

Jo and Deanna hope you're keeping well, you must be mega-tired??, I was stuffed through most of the first trimester with Annie, astounding the level of fatigue you expereince. My IVF doctor told me that once you're pregnant your heart works 50% harder than it was pre-pregnancy just to support and "build" this little tiny person..A huge ask on your body!!

Take care all
Belinda :D

Belinda, poor Annie, it doesn't sound like she is having too much fun. Do you have to get the snot sucker out again? Sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery for the little poppet.

Tiger, only one more sleep until you start....are you getting excited? I am getting all excited for you!! Seems funny to be taking BCP as part of a treatment for intertility....I was so out of the habit that I kept forgetting to take them.

My tummy is less sore today, must have been wind or something! :D
The good news is I had my last sniff last night thank goodness. I have had the flu for over a week and the sniffing has been really unpleasant. I have my scan and BT on tuesday so I guess I will know where I am at then.

Take care ladies...enjoy your Sunday (the temperature has dropped overnight here, the sun is shining but it is bl**dy freezing).

Heather - I'm glad you are having some ovary pain (I mean that in the nicest possible way!!!!!). My pain was on and off before EC. I'm sure you will have responded much better this time than last

Tiger - I am sooo excited to have you as my fellow cycle buddy :D . Lets hope we both get a lovely BFP.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend - I had to work :x .

Stay warm!!!
Missmolly

p.s we had to cancel our trip to Broome as it clashed with my EC & ET dates for this cycle. We are going up to the Gold Coast in a couple of weeks for three nights, to hopefully unwind whilst I am down regging. My SIL & my beautiful little niece (Chloe) are coming to stay next week (they live in Perth). My SIL is 1 week older than me & a single mum. We get on so well together. Chloe is sooo cute & funny. She has me wrapped around her little finger!!!!! We are going to go to the zoo, the snow, puffing billy etc... (all the fun things you don't get to do without kids)

Hi all,

MissMolly, sorry about the Broome trip, but the Gold Coast is fabulous as well!, we're heading down this coming weekend for a LOOOOONG weekend (Johnie keeps calling it a "mini Break") on the beach, should be lovely!..Weather over the weekend was cold here, we had the heater on last night and woke up quite warm in the middle of the night (better than being cold though!) Chloe sounds gorgeous, how old is she?? sounds like you have a lovely holiday planned, hope it all goes well!

Heather, yep, am snot sucking like a mad woman, Annie STILL hates it (can't say I blame her though to be honest, would be pretty apalling to experience that end of things!), her spots have dissapeared now (phew!!) and she is on the mend, though still not back to her normal sunny self..

Take care all
Belinda

Morning everyone,

Miss Molly, I'm glad the acupuncture clinic were good & supportive. It helps when those around us can make some allowances for the inevitable absent-mindedness this whole process causes!

Tiger, yay on starting your cycle!! It's so good to get it underway at last. I'm sure you're going to do great.

Heather, hooray for last sniffs! I can't imagine having to do it with the flu - must have been a shocker. The occasional twinges in the ovaries are definitely a good sign. When do you go in for your 1st scan? I'm crossing all my fingers and toes for a great result. And remember all you need are a couple of good ones anyway (I'm proof of that now!).

Bel, this snot-sucker thing sounds horrendous. Poor little Annie. Glad those spots have cleared up and hope she's on her way to best health again soon.

We're a sniffly household at the moment too. I'm finally getting over my bout of flu but DH has got it now, really bad. Don't you hate winter? I'm dreaming of feeling those first warm breezes in spring.

Well as I'm feeling better I'm getting back to work today, so will say bye for now.

Cheers

Hi all,

lots of cold and sniff stories.. everyone snuggle up warm!

Bel, I am glad Annie is recovering well... I am sure when she makes that "mmmmmmm" noise, she is actually saying "Thanks mum, you're the best!"... no?

MissMolly, I am sorry about your trip to Broome but I am sure your Gold Coast trip will fit in nicely with the treatment. Just imagine, big blue sky and the ocean, sound of waves ... ahhh I am envious! Sounds like your little niece is a cuite, I hope we have a lovely weather next week not like the crap one we're having in Melbourne today - agh!

Heather, good luck with your scan tomorrow, I'll have my fingers and toes crossed for you too. Me? yep, I started taking BCP this morning - like you said, feels very strange to be taking contraceptive pill when I am on the program to GET PREGNANT. Feels like I have finally made it on to a train that I kept seen passing me by...

Deanne, I am not sure whether someone asked you this before... but when is your confinement? is your baby due close to St.Valentine's Day like Josie's too??? Yes I hate winter too - but I prefer this over sticky hot humid summer of Japan any day :) .

Cheers,
Tiger
