Kim,
Hope your dh is lots better now..it hits us hard to see them helpless isn't it?Can't begin to imagine your worries abt him..
And how did you get the blood clot? is it normal during pregnancy? Sounds like a rough week all in all..no wonder you weren't here..Take good care of you and him..

Susie,
Good luck with your scan tomorrow, its lovely to see the little heart- I saw another lady being scanned when I was at my hospital last time, and the sight was so beautiful- they even show you the main arteries and veins..

My scan isn't until next friday- the 30th..

Little P, have you started packing yet? :D

Gen/gavin, good luck with your scan
how is everyone else?

Susie,

Good luck with your scan? I was not aware of the detailed heart scan, I will probably ask about this one. I just had a detailed scan two weeks ago, but not in great depth. Just saw the four chambers of the heart, which was very cool.

18 weeks is a time of significant growth and because of this, some women have ligament pain. Mine was pretty extreme. I was doubled over in pain for three days and then it completely disappears - whew. Anyway, that is what my doctor told me and he did not seem too concerned with it since it did not remain.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I have hit a slow growth period. It seems like my belly had not gotten much bigger in the last two weeks. DH says it has though. :)

Take Care,
Sher

Hi everyone

Little P and Smita - Thanks for your concern. It just brought it all home to me again what we went through when DH had cancer, mainly because it seemed that what we thought at first was just a cold, DH couldnt shake off and Ive never known anyone feel so hot before. Anyway, he seems to be improving. We'v also had plumbing problems today, cant wait until this week is over. I could just down a bottle of wine right now!!

Smita - I didnt have a blood clot, I was just worried because it was really painful just above my knee. It kept me awake a lot in the night, and I dont know about you, but at night I tend to worry more and think the worst! Anyway, when my other leg also started with the same problem, I thought it was more likely just to be cramps. Im ok now! Just to answer your question, we are I believe more prone to blood clots when we are pregnant than when we arent, but dont worry too much about it (says she!!) just be more aware. (Its discussed in the 'What to expect when you're expecting' book).

Sher - Thanks for sharing about your ligament pain. On 2 occasions now (today was one) ive had quite a painful/dull aching lower down on my left side. Whats funny is it started suddenly when I was walking and then stopped completely when I sat down, so I wasnt too concerned. At least by sharing these things we know they also happen to other people, which can alleviate some of the worry.

Take care everyone

Thanks Sher for explaining about week 18 - at least I can be prepared for the possible pains and not alarmed should I get them. It's amazing how helpful this place has become and reliant I am on it!!

Hope you are all doing ok.

Smita

Well that about sums it up - way to go sweetie.

Gavin

Do you realise according to old wives tales women expecting a girl feel unattractive and men start putting on weight!!!

I'm sure Gen looks radiant and beautiful - tell her we think so!!

I've just realised I'm flying tomorrow and normally I love flying so why now is it bothering me so much :?: :? I am getting really anxious about it .....

Hope you are all ok.

Yes Gav,
Gen and I are due within 4 days of each other..
Theres some confusion at my clinic regarding my date though- in fact gen and I could be due the same day as well, cause, my LMP was 13/5..but one of my docs changed it to 15/5 :? of her own accord..
I'm only going to post my due date on the thread after(if??) they tell me all is ok with the amno fluid on the 30th..
Dh will be with me so I can take anything I guess..
Give Gen a hug from all of us here..

Little P, I'm sooo excited i don't know what to do-I was pretty sober until yday!
I want to wish you a wonderful and safe trip with your dh..I hope you have loads and loads of fun and make lovely memories!!

will catch you all later!

I have a quick question - does anyone know if we're allowed waxing during pregnancy.

I can't see why not, but just thought I would check!!!

Have a wonderful trip Little P! Hope you enjoy all the new outfits too.

Smita - You are just about with your DH and I don't blame you for being very excited. Enjoy your time together. I anticipate not hearing as much from you when DH is around. :)

Went to my OB today to get a check-up. I am measuring small for my gestational period so he wrote me up to have another scan. He said it is nothing to worry about, but now I am. The heartbeat was normal which made me more at ease and I feel kicks quite frequently now. I just hope DB (dear baby) is ok and that the fundal measurement is not something to live by. . .

Sher

You take care, but I'm sure as the heartbeat was good there is nothing to worry about. Some people naturally have smaller babies!!

I like the DB (Dear Baby) - that's definitely one for the list.

Take care

Hi All
I had the fetal cardiac scan today and it confirmed all is fine. I wish I had never had the nuchal scan, I'm so mad at myself for having it. 8 weeks of worry for nothing, but the consultant was able to confirm it is def a boy so I'm well chuffed. I've been singed off from the consultant for now and just see a normal midwife til 32 weeks, when I have to see the consultant again who will do more heart checks just to make sure.
I'm gonna buy my pram this weekend now, and its the next sale on Saturday so lots of spending there I think!
Have a good one everyone
