Can only stop in v quickly today as already late to meet dh but just wanted to wish both Rachel & Emma loads of luck for their FET appointment tomorrow. Hope all goes really well and you both get to start as soon as you wish for.

Been absent on reading/posting since before the weekend. Had a bit of a rough weekend with father-in-laws memorial service yesterday and my dh's sister being poorly all weekend too. Working from home tomorrow am before nurses appointment pm so promise to catch up on all news then!! I'll do a proper post to you all then.

:(
I won't be able to do IVF this month.
Insurance is requesting I do a Saline Sonogram in order to determine if I have something wrong in the uterus. and since I can't to the test until I get my cycle, I won't ne able to start shots. so won't get to go until December now.
I know it is only a month, I just feel like it is always one thing after another. and It sucks.
need a break right about now.
hope all of your days are going better!

LITTLE MIRACLES!
I called the doc to get everything straightened out and lo and behold I don't have to wait for the Saline sono histogram. I go in tomorrow for it. then insurance should approve the cycle and I sholuld be starting shots by the end of next week!!!!
So glad I made the call and didn't just settle for what the nurse told me!!!!
who knew trying to get pregnant would help me grow a set of balls!!!!
hehehehehe

Hello ladies - well I have had some good news :D moved my appmt forward due to AF coming unexpectedly last week and I am all set for the thaw cycle - hooray!!! Doc was pleased with how I had recovered from the polyp op and said we could get started. So I have to take progynova for 10 days to build up the lining and then go for another scan - hooray! ET should be in 2 or 3 weeks - hooray! - finally things are starting to happen again. :D

Happy Tuesday Ladies

I'll warn you. I feel a long post coming on. PHEW - Just read from my last 'proper' post on Page 16. So much news to catch up on.......

Rachel - good luck for today hun. Hope that your cold has now cleared. Seeing nurse at 2pm so I should be back to pst just before you although she told me that I needed to be prepared to be at clinic for 2 hours  Well done on starting Xmas shopping already. I love spoiling my nieces and nephews. I have a niece and nephew through my middle sister and the same again through my dh's sister. Yours sound v lucky to be getting an mp3 player. Sure they'll be thrilled!

Emm - Hope that you get good news today at your appointment too. Let us know when you are back

Mom20 - so sorry to read about your job. That really sucks. Your employer cannot do that too you especially if you were sick and they knew about ivf. You must fight them. My best friend got laid off when she was suspected of having breast cancer. She took it to tribunal and got a good/better payout. But it is so stressful. It make me so angry. Chin up

Jemma - Welcome. This is a great thread. You are going to get 2007 off to a great start. Hope that you dh is now back & you did not miss him too much. I find some days I can cope with a crowd but other days I just want to stay at home with my dh and shut the world out. I am struggling to get too excited about Xmas yet. We should know the result of our cycle if all goes to plan but just not sure what plans to make..........

Angie - Great news that you are now fully recovered and can start so soon. ET in 2-3 weeks. If AF shows on time and I need the same level of drugs as last time then I should be ET around 2nd Dec so I think that I'll be just behind you  Boozy w/e sounds like fun. Given my age I feel that I have to do everything to help myself so have quit the booze after my BFN. Had a few when I left my job for sabbatical but other than that been dry for almost 6 months. Hard at times but miss coffee more !!!!

Mrs M - Think that your appointment was due to be the end of last week? Any news. Hope all is well

Erin - Not too long til your op now. I found best to keep busy in the run up so you don't think about it too much. Will you have to stay in overnight or will they let you home the same day?

Aunty - Any sign off AF? Have you called the clinic to get the drugs to bring it on? Or is there a little miracle for you. That would make me so happy for you. The board makes me smile too. You are doing a fab jo on it. Best board I have seen. My dh could not understand why I was going on about the list so showed him!!!!

Haylie - Hope that you are soaking up all the sun in Florida and had a great birthday. Chilly here so jealous of you!!!

So last but not least to my XFactor pals!!!

Becky - You are allowed a break from the diet from time-to-time. Just take it slowly then the weight will stay off. Do you weigh in today? Hope for a good result. Totally Loved Abba week. Sorry. I missed what theme was too for next week - or else they did not say. Thought that Ray's swing Waterloo was great. Leona is SO talented. Not Ben's week but sure when we go back to rock that he will really shine again.

Shantala - I totally love the XFactor and look forward to every Saturday night. I agree with you - how could Ash go and Scots duo still be there. I read an article about whether voting was influenced by racial origins. It made me sad and mad at the same time. Colour should not be an issue. My rant is over!!! So sorry about the e-mail that you got. Some people just do not get it at all. I am off the booze and the number of (mainly men) who have said so is that because you are up the duff. So rude and nosey. I just say something like - if only it were that easy. And leave it at that. A couple of weeks ago, I got asked about 3 evenings on the trot, then came home to dh and just lost it. Think that you asked about acu a while ago. Sorry for the delay. I pay £40 a session. At the start he did have me going weekly but now I am going each fortnight. He is going to see me twice on day of ET. Once before ET and once after ET. Plus once on Day 6 of injections. It has been claimed that ET day can lift whatever chance of success you have % by 15%. So say at 4-0 my chance without is only 20% that could lift to 35%. Whether it is true or not. Who knows but I figure that it has to be worth a shot! If you cannot afford to go much then may be worth seeing if someone will just treat you during your cycle? That would be just three times. Once during injections and twice around ET.

Bec - last but not least!!! What a roller coaster you have had with the insurance. Great that they will pay. My insurance in the UK will pay for diagnosis but nothing at all for tmt as not considered 'must do' surgery. They suck as far as I am concerned. Anyway, really hope that sono today goes well for you sweetie. I think that you asked me about acu ages back or else commented on it. I have found that it has helped calm me down a lot. Although that may also be leaving a vv stressful job for a sabbatical too. Have found that it has affected me physically too. AF is much more regular and much less clotty (sorry if tmi). I am with you. Hate the waiting. A plan helps me a great deal. Even the injections and appointments make me feel like I am doing someting rather than just the agony of waiting for things to happen. My clinic put me on antibiotics for 7 days after EC. They always give me an infection. That reminds me to ask the nurse if I must take them today.

Phew. I am so sorry if I missed anyone. Did not mean to - honest. Had memorial service for my dh's Dad on Sunday. Busy weekend of preparing food etc etc. But it was a brigt sunny day. My dh and his sister (even though she was so unwell) were both strong. It was a v nice way to remember him. I felt really strong and able to help. Took my mind off worrying about ivf and from my perspective was good that it all took place when I was not on tmt and too emotional. Now it is passed my dh can look forward rather than backwards. I think that it will help him.

Nurse at 2pm today. Acu next Tuesday which really helps bring on AF for me. Fingers crossed that AF comes for me next Wednesday and then maybe can start on Thursday. Oh my god, seems so close.

Will update you later on appointment although apologise in advance if that is just a 'me' post!

Love to you all.

Heeellloooo!

becleo - thanks for cheering me up! :D When I first read your posts I was really disappointed for you and then I read the next one and I'm ecstatic (is that how it's spelt?)! i'm so excited that you can start so soon and best of luck with the sono today. let us know how it went!

aunty - thanks for the vitamin advice. i'll add it to my list of things to ask the consultant when we go. god, he should put by about 3 hours for us what with all the questions I have! any news on AF yet?

lara and emma - good luck today! make sure you let us know how you got on, too!

carolyn - i'm glad i'm not the only one that writes these massive long posts! :) i'm very sorry to hear about your weekend but as you said, at least it took your mind off things. good luck today and you also let us know how you got on! thanks for the advice about acupuncture. i'll have to think about it some more coz of money but 3 sessions would be ok. i've also found a lady in london who does a variety of NLP, hypnosis and solution focused counselling and who had IVF herself. the cost is £100 per session though! i'll have to have another good think. x-factor - i love it!! racial origins???? are you being serious? that is so awful!! i really don't know what this country is coming to! i share your crossness! i really can't believe people that you have come across with regards to booze. i'm really worried about that as i have a work xmas do to go to (and my work colleagues LOVE their drink!) and then NYE at my sister-in-laws. if i dont drink they'll start asking questions or will generally just be off. i might just say i'm on some drugs i'm not allowed to drink with and that might shut them up. it's so hard!

angie - i am so pleased you can start so soon! it's so exciting!

can i ask a general question? how much has everyone cut down/out their caffein intake? and also DH's? i drink quite a lot of coffee and fizzy drinks like coke and DH drinks a lot of tea and coke. i thought about limiting myself to one coffee in the morning (to get me going  ) and then try and just have non-caffeine stuff for the rest of the day :? . what has everyone else done? also, what about my DH? does it matter too much about him and caffeine?

i also found this the other day on a website:

"research has shown that the stress levels of infertile women are equivalent to women with cancer, AIDS, or heart disease" - i was so tempted to blow this up, laminate it and send it to all my friends and family who know we are having IVF!! haha...anyway, i didnt. but i thought it was interesting.

hope everyone is ok

WHERE TO BEGIN??
Angie - congrats on the move in dates! that is great that the FET will bein a few short weeks!!!!

Carolyn-it really blows my mind that insurance still is not covering these treatments for everyone, I know I am ery lucky. one of the reasons why IVF has been covered for me with pretty much no questions is because DH had cancer and can not have kids. So we have been getting pretty good treatment, but tons of bumps along the way. I do acupncture too. been doing it for a year now. I pay $70 a session. the hard part is the office is only open 2 times a week , so if it doesn't coincide w/ ET then i try the best i can, i do think it helps with alot of things in the body.
Good luck today, keep us posted ok! and so sorry for your loss. hugs to you!

Shantala- hey girl. you make me smile too so i guess we are even hehehe! I was a big time caffiene drinker, but i have cut down to only 1 cup of coffee in the am half decaf half regular. I have heard too many contrdicting stories about caffiene and IVF that i figured for me I needed to cut down to better my chances. so it is seltzer water for me instead of soda, but again each doc says differently, but I would try to limit to 1 caffiene drink a day. I really like the quote you found, thanks for sharing.

I am amazed by all the women here in this thread, we all have been thru so much and i really feel SO MUCH better after popping in and reading, I can't even begin to tell you how much it has helped. and I think this round will be so much better, the 2ww won't be as crazy and I have all you.. My girls!!!!!

lara-emma GOOD LUCK!!!

Aunty- how goes it?

Good Luck Rachel!

have a great day to all!
love bec
