Hi Everyone,
It's been a long long time since I last posted. After all the bad luck I wrote about my computer crashed and I eventually had to reformat the hard drive so I had no computer for awhile.
Tammy,
I can't believe how far along you are now! I tried to logon to Photobucket but it said the password was incorrect so I couldn't look at your precious boy.
Sonia,
How are those follicles coming along?
Kat,
I'm so happy you have a donor ready to go......and you don't have to share the eggs. That's AWESOME!!!!
Julia,
Your question about your hubby's sperm issue was one I asked at the beginning of our infertility battle. Per the embryologist, "in the course of nature, theoretically only a normal sperm will fertilize an egg.....after it's journey through the tubes. When the sperm are not motile and ICSI is needed it is impossible to determine if a sperm is genetically normal since it's function (the way it swims)is the only way to tell." We did 2 cycles with ICSI with 1 negative and 1 miscarriage. We then switched to donor sperm for 2 cycles and had 2 miscarriages. Our 5th cycle were donor eggs and sperm and also resulted in a miscarriage. 6th and last cycle was a frozen transfer which was negative. Hope that helps. Good luck.
Wisconsingal,
How are things going? Moving to egg retrieval?
LuAnne,
Choosing a clinic is soooooo difficult. We debated switching clinics after our first 2 cycles but ended up staying with our first choice. Even though we ended up with no baby we're not sorry. We did everything we could.
Wanda,
Welcome!
As for us......I think we've passed another milestone. No more thoughts of continuing to try for a baby. We're content to keep our nursery sealed until we have grandchildren. Could be awhile since my oldest is just 21 and half way through college to be a nurse. Youngest is 18 and a senior still. Oldest wants to have 5 kids and yougest says just 2. So the whole infertility thing inspired my husband into the medical field and he will be starting nursing school in August. It'll be a loooooooong 2 years til he's done but after he's out we're buying a motorhome and we're going to travel the entire country as "traveling nurses". (go figure)

To all of you ladies about to pop.....I DO expect pictures. My e-mail is erjumper@hotmail.com. After all, i've known all of you for so long I feel like i'm going to be an Aunt over and over. Wishing you healthy and rapid deliveries!! Won't be long. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Lisa:

It is so good to hear from you!!!!! I'm glad things are looking up for you and DH. For photobucket, the username is: ivfgroup and the password is: ivfgroup. You will have to scroll down a page or so, since there are a lot of pictures posted since I posted Andrew's ultrasound. I am ready to deliver. I am having the braxton hicks contractions and am having a difficult time sleeping at night. I get up every hour or so to pee. I can't wait to have the little guy in my arms. I have 6 more weeks!

Hello to everyone else.

Take care,
Tammy

Hi all

Lisa - good to hear from you and glad you have things to look forward to, even if it will be a couple of years before you can go on the road. Sounds like fun.

Tammy - I have seen your scan pictures of Andrew, can't wait to see pictures of him on the outside!

Incidentally if you look really carefully through all those pictures there is one of me from a couple of years ago with my niece in Singapore.

I should get af next week and then I have to call the clinic to make an appt to see them re timings and when we can start - could be looking at ET end March all being well but depends on dates (& skiing holiday!) so it might be end April instead but still, it all feels so much more real now we have our lovely donor.

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all OK even if not posting at the moment

I have joined Slimming World so I can be in the best possible shape for tmt so I am hoping to lose a few pounds - I'll keep you posted...

lots of love

Hello lovely ladies, hope everyone enjoying their weekend.

LuAnne, good luck in choosing your clinic. You must have been so disappointed at how things have turned out. Hang in there...you will soon be on your way to that BFP!

Welcome Wanda, you have come to the right place for help support nad advice, these ladies are fab! When is your ET? Wishing you loads of luck with this cycle.

Jen, I know what you mean about an update list. We could try....

LuAnne, choosing clinic
Tammy, pg, 6 weeks to go until we meet Andrew
Kat, have egg donor organised, waiting for AF
Wanda, DE cycle about to start
Sonia, on 2ww...fingers crossed, test date??
Lisa, decided to call it a day. Good luck with future plans xx
Bev, pg w/DE Due date??
Anna pg w/DE Due date 9th April
Wisconsingal, follie scan 17th Jan, ER hopefully @ 20th Jan
Jen, will cycle later in year after wedding in March

I know I have missed lots of ladies, please don't be offended  Feel free to add/change the list at any time! Jen, hope that has helped!!

As for me, we had an appointment with the consultant this week. All is well and as it should be. (Bp, urine, measurement of uterus etc...) We heard the heartbeat again which was fab. My only symptom at the moment is swollen ankles which means that I have had to ditch my boots and buy some shoes!! The Dr isn't worried about me at all. Hopefully all will continue to go well. Glad to report that I feel great and am still 'blooming'. Have a busy week this week as am away at a conference for three days...so speak soon

take care all

Right now I'm on day 7 of my Lupron injection. I hope to hear on Monday that my Donor has started her meds. I go back in one week from Monday for more blood test and ultrasound. I hope to to the ET by the middle of Feb. And pray that it takes the first time. If not I will do a second try.

Hi All Welcome to a new Week....

anna...So good to hear all your checks were A OKAY and beanie is growing fine x x thank you so much for writing an update list I just wanna change my date s as it will be June July Aug before we can have time off work and Funds saved after our wedding before we go for DE. although we are getting married in March in canada the family and friends party is when we come back to UK on the April 7th...

Here's a question for you all... it will be May before we sort out clinics etc....On that note do you think it's better to book and go through checks etc at the clinic now even though it wil be July -ish before we start or is it better to ait and go through it all at the same time???? Adam is so focused on the wedding and party he doesn't want anything to do with the clinic just now...where as i would like to know all the details...so i feel a bit in limbo at the moment ...So your feedback would be much appreciated as i do feel a bit alone with all this ..

Kat- you sounds so full of beans and productive...Good luck with slimming world...whats your goal 7lbs loss???....Hope AF is on time and things move quickly for you

Hi all

Jen – I always just go ahead with my own stuff as it makes me feel like I am doing something. I also like spreading it out so I can fit it round work and not get stressed by leaving it all to nearer the time. So I would go ahead with starting to work through everything regardless of what DH wants to do but then he’s used to that

Re the slimming - my ideal weight is 10st (140lbs for you US girls) but sadly I weighed in at 11st 13 (167lbs) last week – oops – I blame the drugs (and the chocolate) over the last 8 years and the fact I have always thought oh no point in trying to lose weight as I will be pg soon. Ha ha. I was wrong on that one. So I would love to be 10st again but slightly unrealistic in a short space of time. I’ll keep you posted…

Hi to everyone else, best not stay on here too long, supposed to be working

HI EVERYONE!

WELL, THEY TOOK 13 FOLLIES....9 WERE MATURE, 7 FERTILIZED....I GOT THE CALL 1/23, AND THE DR. SAID THINGS ARE LOOKING REALLY GOOD....2 ARE EXCELLENT, 2 ARE GOOD....AND REST ARE JUST OK......HE SET THE ET FOR FRIDAY (5 DAY) BECAUSE HE SAID HE THOUGHT DOING THE 5 DAY WOULD GIVE ME A BETTER CHANCE. I'VE NEVER GOTTEN TO THIS STEP BEFORE.....SO NOW I'M PUMPED. MY DH DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK OR FEEL......EVERYTIME I LOOKED IN HIS EYES ON THE ER DAY...I STARTED BALLING......HE KEPT SAYING THIS IS IT.......WE'RE SO NOT GOING THROUGH THIS AGAIN, I CAN'T STAND SEEING YOU GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN......NOW THAT THE WE MIGHT MAKE IT TO ET.....HE'S REMINDING ME THIS IS THE LAST TIME NO MATTER WHAT THE OUTCOME. HE HATES GIVING ME THE SHOTS TOO....BUT I KEEP TELLING HIM TO SUCK IT UP, AT LEAST THE POKES AND PAIN AREN'T ON YOUR BOD! THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, AND I'LL BE THINKING OF YOU ALL TOO!

Hey WisconsinGal, that really is fantastic news!!! Well done! I know how you must have felt not knowing whether you were even going to make it to ER. But now you’re really on the way there! So pleased for you. Good for you doing the acupuncture too. Poor DH, hope he’s coping OK with the news.
Do keep us posted about ET.

Hey Wisconsin.....That's awesome. Here's hoping for some 8 or 9 cell blasts for transfer on Friday. How old are you? How many are they putting back? Are they doing assisted hatching? Do tell! My hubby said it was the last time after the 2nd time but he changed his mind for 2 more. I more or less dragged him through the last 2 but I did all my shots myself. He did draw my blood every other day and take it to the lab for my levels. (My RE was very flexible with us since i'm an RN and work 12 hour shifts) I couldn't take the whole day off for blood work so we taught my DH to do it. Now that it's all over he has been more honest about how helpless and frightened he was about the whole thing. I had OHSS and got pretty sick a few times and the hormones made me an emotional wreck, as I beleive it dose all of us. My E2's were in excess of 9000 on 1 cycle so I had to coast for 3 days. Anyway, here's to your embies maturing to blast!! Then there's the worst.....the dreaded 2ww!!!!! Ughh!!!!!

Hello Ladies:

Kat: That is wonderful news about your upcoming cycle in March/April. I will be here before we know it. I can't wait to post actual photos of the little guy that are in color.

Anna: Glad to hear that everything is going well with your pregnancy.

Jen: The summer will be here before we know it. I will have my little boy and you will be on your cycle.

Wisconsingal: Great news on your embies! How many of the seven will you transfer if they all make it to blast? With my last IVF, we transferred 5 embies. Since I am 42, the risk of having multiples greater than 2 is low. Like Lisa, I gave myself the shots. However, DH had to give the progesterone shots to me, as they were in the fanny.

Lisa: Good to hear from you. I hope everything is going well for you and DH.

Wanda: Good luck on your cycle.

Hello to Sonia, Yasmina, Bev and anyone else that I have missed.

As for me, I'm doing ok. I have been very tired lately, as I wake up to pee every hour. People have told me that I look like I have dropped. Andrew has been very active. Sometimes I wonder what in the world he is doing in there. I go back to the OB doctor tomorrow.

Take care all,
Tammy

I AM 41......MY DH HATES NEEDLES......AND HE HAD TO DO THE HCG AND NOW THE PROGESTERONE (BUTT SHOTS).....AND THE LAST TWO DAYS REALLY SUCKED.....I MEAN WE'RE USING THE 18 GAUGE 1.5" NEEDLES......I'VE TOLD HIM TO PINCH, JAB, INJECT, RELEASE AND THEN PULL OUT......I REVIEW EACH TIME BEFORE HE DOES IT......THE LAST TWO DAYS IT'S LIKE HE JUST DOESN'T WANT TO POKE HARD ENOUGH....AND I END UP GETTING 3 POKES BEFORE HE GETS ENOUGH GUTTS TO JAB IT ALL THE WAY IN......I WAS TOLD THERE WILL BE 12 WEEKS OF THIS.......GOD HELP US ALL!!!

WE DID DO ICSI ALSO......THE MOST WE WILL PUT BACK IS (2) MY DH WAS VERY FIRM ABOUT THAT DECISION. I'M STILL PRAYING WE WILL HAVE (2) STRONG ENOUGH TO PUT BACK IN.

TODAY IS DAY 3 AFTER ER, I CAN FINALLY MOVE (WALK) WITHOUT GASPING FOR AIR BECAUSE OF PAIN FROM THE ER. I HAVEN'T REALLY READ OF ANYONE ELSE FEELING QUITE SO BAD AFTER ER, BUT FOR SOME REASON I MUST BE A SLOW HEALER......I'M ACTUALLY GLAD WE'RE DOING THE 5 DAY ET TOO BECAUSE I THINK MY OLD BOD JUST NEEDS A FEW MORE DAYS TO GET READY FOR THIS.
