Hello Everyone! I'm new to this site and absolutely love it! I only wish that I had found this earlier, I'm going tomorrow for my pg test after our first DE IVF. I really needed this site during the 2ww!
Sonia:
I'm so sorry! Although, you are amazing and an inspiration. I have worried about getting the call tomorrow while at work if it's bad news..knowing that I would fall apart. I am not sure I could pull myself together (much less having guests in my home) or go in to work. Don't give up!
Kat:
I also work with three women who are pregnant (and 2 who have just delivered). I can't talk to them either and I feel so guilty about not asking how they are. One who just recently delivered would send me emails every week about the growth of her baby in her belly. That was horrible! Oh, and I think it's called a baby shower because the mom is "showered" with gifts. Just a guess!
Sonia, sweetie,
I'm so sorry. I was so hoping for you to have better luck we did. I know all too well how you feel and don't envy you those houseguests. I spent days in bed crying after each negative and each miscarriage. Let yourself grieve it's absolutely essential and know that we're all here empathizing.
Welcome Ellen,
Best of luck on your test.
Hope all of you "fat" ladies are feeling relatively well. (at the size you are all getting to be there is no true comfort) Like carrying a bowling ball in your pants? Hope to see some baby pics soon!!!!
Havent posted for along time - some people might remember me - I just wanted to share my 6th attempt experience with you all.
Have been on short protocol with cetrotide - had one follicle of 9mm at first scan!! and decided to carry on - yes you probably think im mad!!
Anyway - had one egg retrieved on Tuesday which fertilised nicely and turned out to be a fantastic grade 1 which was put snuggly to bed on Thursday.
So I am at this time lying in bed taking it easy and trying very hard to focus on a BFP!!! - hoping I prove the saying 'IT ONLY TAKES ONE!!'

Lisa: It is more like a basketball!! It makes it very difficult to move around these days. Just 4 more weeks for me. I sure hope that the little guy makes his appearance a couple of weeks early.

Tammy

Hi ladies-
Thanks to all with the words of encouragement.
Sonia-my heart goes out to you.
Cazx-good luck
Wisoncingal-my fingers are crossed, adding to your pot of luck. hope to hear positive news soon.
As for me, I'm learning my daily schedule is really busy. What's more I'm going through exercise withdrawl. I really miss my morning runs. Next week I start my injections [3-4/day], I'm on a co-flare protocol. DH faints at the site of needles, should be interesting. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule I'll be performing some of the injections at work, something I had not anticpated. I'm holding on to a PMA. Have a few more acu scheduled and some massages in the line-up.
Looking forward to hearing more good news from ya'll.
Take Care
Catharine

Sonia - so sorry to see your news. We've all been there and it is such a horrible time, we all understand. Look after yourself and DH.
Catharine - my DH doesn't faint at the sight of needles but he won't come anywhere near me when I am doing my injections - he says he has a thing about the needle going into the flesh. Either that or the sight of my naked belly
Welcome to Ellen and hope you have had some good news by now. I can't believe someone would email you pictures- even if she didn't know anything about your situation - some people are just plain weird.
Caz - nice to see you back here again - hope the 2ww isn't driving you too insane so far. Still, early days yet...
DH has been out all day today playing computer games (do they ever grow up?) round a friend's house. I am trying not to think about all the smoking and drinking that will be going on - he has been so good and cut right down on everything but I can just imagine today won't have been a day for abstaining. Can't help worrying what it's doing to his swimmers.....does anyone else worry about this or are all your DHs always on their best behaviour?
To all the other lovely ladies here, hope you are having a good weekend
Lots of love
Kat xx

Caz, it’s nice to have you back, I am guessing that I am not younger than you are. I am jealous that your clinics still let you use your own eggs. Hope your 2ww goes smoothly. I found reading ivfers’s blogs helps a lot. I passed my first 2ww by playing chess, that resulted a bfn. I passed my second 2ww by reading other ivfers’ blogs, got bfp. In both 2ww that I had, I could not sleep well at all.
Sonia, it was hard for all of us. What a journey and we all remember too well the bumpy roads. It took 10 of good grade eggs for me to get one. Yes, it only takes one, we do play with numbers at our age since we don’t know which one IS the one. I hope that you and your DH had next step planned out and able to follow it soon.
Congratulations, Bev! I can not wait for your update. Do tell!!!
Tammy, I am getting quite constipated recently. The acid still attacking me and I am taking calcium carbonate when needed. Last ob checked my cervix with a lot of pressure since she could not reach easily. She said I was fingertip dialated but I will still have couples of weeks to go, at least. After that, I had some cramps like having periods, they went away now. She did confirm that my baby is head down by touching my belly that was a relief because I have not been told this before. I had to get up every hour at nights again. Hope your last month is easier!
Did I tell you that I am still working full time? I am so tired that I take naps at work sometimes. I have two research grant deadlines to meet and one seminar talk to prepare in the next two weeks, what a fun life!

Hello everyone I am recently new to your board. My name is Wanda someone stated she may be the oldest I am 47 doing IVF w/DE. My DH is 46 so I may be the oldest. I have been on Lupron for 3 weeks now. My DE is already on medication for the last 7 days. My ovaries are at zero suppression and my uterus is thin. I hope by next week to go back to my clinic in NYC and start to prepare my uterus. Good luck to everyone that is going through IVF with own eggs or DE. My blessings to all of you.
Hi all-
Kat-we, DH and I, do worry about his swimmers. He's also on the acu schedule with chineese herbs, all sorts of anti-oxidents, he's not aloud to have ice in his beverages. Moreover, the practicioners have adviced warm liquids, reduced exercise to keep the temp lower the body temp. I could go on. The Chinese doc said he has 99% success rate in fixing severe male factor infertility. He has had one failure in his years of practice. But it was due to a non-compliant patient---his work prevented him from lowering his physical activity---sports trainer of sorts. So, far, cross fingers and toes, the chines medicine seems to be recentering our respective energy.
Now if only all my other glitches with the protocol would untangle themselves. I'm really trying to focus on a PMA. Envisioning bright colors helps. Mentally placing myself on a carribean white sandy beach, sipping a mellow fruity beverage, listening to the gentle swish of the ocean as waves wash ashore, while soaking up the warm sun rays really helps.
Trying to stay calm during my latest surprise, an early arrival of AF (3d early) and still waiting the arrival of one drug on back order. But doesn't that beach and sun feel great.
Wishing all the Best,
Catharine

Hi everyone,
I've recently joined the March thread, but can see that we have a lot in common also. Do you mind if I join you?
I'm about to go for my 3rd FET, with grade 1's, but with all of the extra curricular relaxing I've been doing, (hypnotherapy, acupuncture, visualising Daniel Craig on the beach etc. etc.) my body has gone into shock and am having the longest time out ever from Af - for me(38 days).
And nope - can't be BFP, as would be an immaculate conception if it was!
I will be seeing my Doc on 12th Feb so hope to start down regging soon after.
(Catherine, you can borrow Daniel Craig on the beach to help with the PMA, but only when I've finished with him)
Wanda, hypnotherapy really helps me relax and acupunture can also help with the thickness of the uterus - have you considered it at all?
Oh well, I'm off for another cup of dandelion coffee...ugh
2 failed FET from ED, 3rd and final time lucky! - Me 45 DH 36
Hi Yasmina - Yes my clinic is letting me keep trying - but i just hope that the fact i have had just 1 follicle - 1 egg - and 1 grade 1 embryo after icsi is a bit of an omen!!! 3rd transfer lucky!! I take it from your profile that you had used frozen embies from first ivf - 19 embryos!!! so i am a little confused when you said that you were jealous that my clinic would still let me use my own eggs?? What protocol were you on? How many follies to get 19 embies? Really pleased for you that you got your bfp in June - I take it the birth is in March - Good luck.

Wanda, good luck on your first ivf. Please keep us posted!
Bridget, hope you find a lot of supoort here, good luck with your 3rd FET. I got bfp on my 3rd FET.
Caz, yes, I am jealous because I have left the city where I started my treatment, their cut off age was 43 and I was 43 at that time (2005), but they agreed to continue treating me since I responded to stimulation drugs well. I got more than 25 follicles and 25 eggs, 19 of which fertilized normally, all by ICSI. My detailed protocol was posted on this site on 10/23/06. You can look it up by click the link to my profile, find all my posters, on the page 2, you can locate the date to compare with yours cycle. I still have 4 frozen embryos which have been transferred them in the new city where I am now, but my new fertility center does not agree a fresh cycle with me if those 4 frozen ones won’t make it – the cut off age is 42 here for women using her own eggs! As you said, it only takes one, and I wish the one that you had will be the ONE! There are quite few of us had been this lucky lately at our age: Tammy, Naura (sp?), and another girl that I can not recall her name. Best luck to you and I am anxiously waiting for your good news!
Oh, a quick update for ALL THE NEW FRIENDS, we have several over 40 women preg here, Bev, me, Tammy, and Anna are the ones active. Naura and another girl don’t post very often, but they must have delivered by now. Bev just gave birth to a boy few days ago! Tammy is naturally preg in between waiting ivf cycles, Bev and Anna used ED, and I used my frozen embryos from 2005. I am 37wks and 1day today.
Alright, nap time for me, talk to all soon!
