Question: Are you at home on bed rest? Or did you work earlier in your pregnancy? I am working now and my job is so stressful and I am wondering when I need to leave. I don't want my babies to be harmed by my stress. I am thinking about talking to my Dr. about it. Just wondering what your situation was, working or stay at home.
The three amigos are doing good, B and C are definitely boys! A they are 85% sure is a girl! She said the farther along I get they will be able to see more on A to make sure. But her bottom looked so different than B and C. Just saw a little line on her and the boys were like hello, here is my peepee!!
I have gained 12 lbs so far and my belly is 38 inches.
I worked up till I was 21 weeks. But then i was only out of work for 2 days before i had a doctor appt. and found out my cervix was too short - at that point i had a cerclage and went on complete bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy. If i were you, i would say get out of work as early as you can. Once you reach 16 weeks, the triplets really start to put weight on your cervix and the cervix can shorten over night to a point where they can't even do a cerclage. Better safe than sorry. My friend who lost her triplets also worked up till 21 weeks and was only out of work for a few days when they realized she was 4 centimeters dilated. On the flip side, my friend whose been on bed rest since 11 weeks due to some spotting has had no problems with her cervix, which i attribute to the fact that she's had so much rest. How are you doing otherwise?

As of Monday I have become a stay at home mom!! My dr. agreed now is the time to take it easy and not work anymore. It has been nice this week. Not too bored yet! I have an appt with the perinatologist Friday so I hope everything is ok with my cervix. I am noticing this week alot of stretching and pulling on my sides. I think they are getting really big now and I am feeling more and more ripples in there, mostly after I eat. I'll be 17 weeks this weekend, but the babies have always measured about a week bigger than I really am.
Hope you aren't going too crazy on bed rest!!
Question for all: do you have to get a new car?! We do and we are looking at a Nissan Pathfinder. Some SUVS aren't big enough and I want to put them all together in the same row. What is everyone else doing or your thoughts?
We registered already and that was fun! Had no clue of what I was doing but we'll figure it out!
Congrats on becoming a stay at home mom ! Hopefully going out of work early will help keep your cervix strong - how did your appt. go today with the doctor?
Just remember to still take it easy at home even though you're not working anymore - try to limit yourself to only going up and down the stairs once a day. Don't do any cleaning, or spend much time on your feet. Again, these are just my recomendations, now having been through a cerclage and put on bed rest. I was running around like a crazy person , cleaning, etc. and i wish i had taken it easier.
We are thinking about getting the Honda odyseey - we have a toyota highlander now and we were told by a police officer who took the training course on installing car seats that 3 will fit across the back seat. We're not sure if we should get the minivan now or wait till 6 months after they are born. After all, they won't be going anywhere besides doctor appointments for the first 6 months anyway, as they will likely be preemies and it will be the end of fall/begining of winter here when they are born. Let me know if you find out anything else about the car situation or what you decide to do.

My appt went good, cervix looks great. We have 2 boys and a girl for sure! My DH asked are you sure its a girl, and he said yep! we are so happy about that...just what we wanted. It's crazy you go so long thinking you'll never be a mom and then you get 3...and then you get exactly what you wanted! God is so good!
I have another appt today with my OB so I'll update after that.
We ended up getting a Nissan Pathfinder. We wanted all 3 in a row where we could reach them so we got a good deal on a 2006 so we went ahead and did it.
Have you had any showers yet? Did they have to come to you because of the bed rest? I am taking it easy on the couch most days. It's been nice to just chill, no stress! I don't sleep well at night, cant get comfy so it's been nice to sleep in!
I'm glad to hear you are doing well and congrats on 2 boys and a girl. We are thrilled with that combination ourselves as well !
i had a baby shower when i was 22 weeks, 4 days after i had the cerclage. I was on complete bedrest at that point but my doctor agreed to let me go if i went in a wheelchair, which i did.
How many weeks are you now and how did your OB appt. go?
I was diagnosed this week with gestational diabetes and hypertension. I'm 30 weeks today and hoping to make it to 32 weeks god willing.
How are you doing?? I am praying you can make it a few more weeks. Are you having to go into the Dr. twice a week now? I have heard that this is the time when blood pressure goes up even if it's been fine the whole pregnancy. Can they tell how big the babies are by now? So exciting...I just hope you are feeling ok. I am so uncomfortable now I cant imagine how it will be at 30-32 weeks.
I will be 19 weeks Sunday, I go in next Wed for OB appt. They'll continue to measure my cervix to make sure it is not shortening. I did have a day this week where I was so dizzy I had to lay down all day. But I was fine the next day, havent felt like that since about 9-10 weeks. I have a couple of showers coming up in early Oct so I will be 21-22 weeks by then.
Hang in there girl, it will all be worth it. I just hope you don't have to go into the hospital and stay there til delivery. I am thinking good thoughts for you and those sweet babies!

Im so excited about this thread for all of you ladies expecting triplets. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my babies in january..a beatiful girl and 2 boys. I carried till 33w6d.
I had pretty much a hassle free pregnancy, but was put on bedrest at 25 weeks just for precautionary reasons then i got shipped over to the hospital at 28 weeks to have daily monitoring of the babies. I was there for a total of 4~5 weeks including c-section. I lived about an hour away from the hospital and my doc a very proactive one didnt want any kind of emergency situation to arise. The babies did excellent in the nicu.
baby a 5lb2oz 2 weeks in hospital
baby b 4lb14oz 11 days
baby c 4lbs11oz 17 days
The reason they stayed was to feed and grow and to learn how to suck swallow and breath at the same time.
Im thrilled for all of you...if any of you dont already know there is a special website for triplets called tripletconnection.com...it was the forum that saved my sanity during bedrest.
If any of you have any questions please feel free to pm me.
Thanks for the info, I love hearing weights and dates, it helps me to compare!
Your babies all sounded like they have really good birth weights. At my last visit I was 19 weeks and my girl was 12 ounces and the boys were 11 ounces. They always measure at least a week bigger than I am and the tech always says I am carrying big babies. Do you remember what the estimated weight was at 19-20 weeks for you?
I am not having any trouble and each dr visit has been great so I praying that continues. I see the perinatologist on the 28th so I hope that goes well too.
Janine, I hope you are in the hospital taking care of your babies! Hope to hear good news from you soon!!!
Congratulations on the weights of your babies, i just checked my old ultrasound pictures and the weights were 12oz, 12oz, 13oz
So it sounds like your babies are on the right track for being big babies!!!!
Im so thrilled for all of you triplet mommies to be.... Dont underestemate anything...dont push yourselves, always be rested lying down, dont forget when you sit down, you also put pressure on your cervix, so layind down is the best thing. I lived on our recliner the whole time.
Drink lots of water and take a shot of ensure=)
I did a 5dt of 3 perfect expanded blasts (we were aggressive -- long story) from an egg donor. I tested positive on the HPT 5dp5dt. Because I tested + so soon, my RE bumped my beta up by 2 days.
7dp5dt my beta was 280 (RE thought multiples for sure -- leaning towards twins).
2 days later (my originally scheduled test date and 9dp5dt) I jumped over double (in fact almost triple) to 745.6!!!!
So, I guess my "first" beta is really 745.6 (the 14 day old embie mark). Now I'm wondering if I'm having triplets. I wanted to get a sense from all of you what your betas were the first time around. I suppose it is possible that I just have a really high beta, but am carrying twins (I think a singleton is probably out of the question, but ya never know). Any thoughts?
For those having triplets, how are you ladies handling the pregnancy. I have to say, as exciting as this sounds, it also scares me (a) to carry this many babies -- will they be healthy? (b) how do you manage 3 at once?
My Beta 9dp5dt was 512 and that was the highest my Dr had ever seen that soon after transfer. So he told me from the beginning that he thought all 3 of the embies we transferred took. 2 days later it was 1430 and then I tested 5 days later and it was 12,000!
So as long as your numbers are still doubling I would say you have triplets!!
At first I was really scared, we kept thinking ok maybe it is just twins...and then we got to see the sonogram and we saw the 3 sacs! It still didn't sink in I don't think til weeks later. Most of the 1st trimester I worried alot about whether I could do this but I just made up my mind one day that God chose me to have this special pregnancy and it all happened for a reason and I could do it!
Let us know how the next Beta tests go, can't wait to hear how many are in there...you know 1 could have split!! You could have 4 in there!
Fulloffaith -- OK, just getting comfortable with the notion that I may have triplets. Can't quite cope with the thought that one may have split and that I may have 4!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your story. It is quite frightening, but I tend to agree -- the universe gives you what you can handle.
DOLCE VITA: I'm in Los Angeles (Brentwood). What about you? Where did you deliver? My first natural pregnancy was at St. Johns (but transferred to Cedars because my DD was critically ill and eventually passed at 3.5 mos The NICU at Cedars was fantastic, but I understand labor and delivery isn't the best there (mixed reviews). With multiples, I know I'll want to be at a place with a good NICU (not St. Johns) so I'm thinking about UCLA Santa Monica or Cedars. Any thoughts?
I am almost 21 weeks now and the perinatologist said I needed to be seen every week now. We had an appt. with him on Friday and everything looks good. A(girl) is 1lb 2 ounces, B is 1lb 1 ounce and C is 14 ounces. My girl is growing faster and outweighing the boys! I wonder if they will take turns with the growth spurts or if C is always going to be smaller. He said it was normal and not to worry until the 28th week. That is when they check to make sure 1 baby is not far behind. I am trying to take it easy as much as possible, just being a couch potato!
Babyb, any new Beta #'s yet? When do they test you again? Hope you are doing good.
Hi to everyone else!!
Have a good weekend!
Allison
Hello, and congratulations on your triplet pregnancy...
I delivered at UCLA santa monica, i was also on bedrest there for just over a month before i delivered....My perinatologist who is a genius and the most amazing doctor delivers at that hospital. I personally loved everyone there...the nurses are super sweet and caring. The NICU is really nice, but hopefully your babies will not need any time. If you need a really good peri let me know, you will not be disappointed with my doctor he is very well known and respected in his field.
I wish you goodluck... by the way I had IVF and my beta at 11dp3dt was 336 and 2 weeks later it was over 33000..=)
