Thank you for all the support - Rachel, Shantala, Kel & Angie in particular. It is so helpful because I am so dam worried every single day. My mobile is glued to me thinking that my sis will call and it will all be taken away.

So no testing over the weekend. Was not sure if that was a nightmare or a relief not to be waiting on calls every day.

My sister had her 8th hcg yesterday - can you believe how fantastically they are looking after her? I make it 24 days past a 3 day transfer so 27 days. HCG was 4,120 on Friday and yesterday was 8, 621. I know that the doubling slows from every 48 hours to every 72 hours above about 6,000 so think that this is still ok. Have plotted it on some web site I found and we look like we are tracking just above the average for a singleton.

So - big pause - scan set for Thursday at 11am. I never thought that I could be as stressed as the 2ww ever again but I was so wrong. I so want to see a sac and the little beanie. We are 6 weeks today - cannot bear to tempt fate and even make a ticker - so will be at 6 weeks and 2 days. I know that I have to stay clam if there is no h/b as it is still early.

Please please let this be ok for me and dh and my fab sister. I will of course let you know as soon as we have news.

Thank you so much.
Lots of Love

Carolyn:

Im dam sure everything is gonna be ok. Your sis has carried normal healthy pregnancies before ... there is nothing to say she wont now! Im so excited for Thursday for u to see ur wee one on the screen ... if im this bad, i cant imagine what u must be feeling lol ...

I know its easier said than done ..... but do try to relax, u have both come this far ... ur sister is looking after herself like never before and im sure she is as anxious as u are, she is an amazing woman to do this for you, you hear of things like this in a film, or in a story - but ive never been so close to one (if u know what i mean) this is just amazing and i hope with every breath in my body that this works for you .... you deserve this so much .... am thinking of u sweetie ...

I understand your nervousness and caution but it looks like everything is going perfectly! I cannot wait to hear about your scan on Thursday. I am sure you are going to see a perfect little baby, and if you are lucky, perhaps hear it's heat beating, which is the most incredible sound ever!!

So sorry not to get here sooner but all been mad and back in work and struggling to contain my emotions. So this will be quite short but had to update my favorite ladies.....

Well after all the stress and waiting a whole hour for the scan, we saw an oval shaped beanie. We saw the yolk sac and we saw a really tiny little sparkle of light that was winking at us. Dr (our fav dr at the clinic who left to work in Egypt and is back just for a few weeks) agreed to scan us specially. He was absolutely brilliant and looked after my sister (and her bits) while making sure that Mike and I could see what was going on. It was flippin amazing. It was all over so quickly that I keep thinking that I dreamt it and I might wake up.

I am totally overwhelmed. I never ever thought that this would happen me and my dh. My sister has been absolutely brilliant throughout.

I was crying so hard and so was my dh. We got the fairytale ending. May be now I can relax (a little) and truly believe that thanks to an amazing clinic and my amazing sister that we will be parents.

Much love

Carolyn,

So happy for you and your family! They are all so amazing! You are very lucky too, having a Dr. specially scan your little one! Here at states, U/S mostly done by nurses or US techs, Drs. only look at pictures and reports afterwards. The rest of the journey is still nerve racking, but we are all here to cheer you on!

When you next scan will be? For me, I normally get scan every two weeks until 9~12 weeks, depending on the clinic, and then we will be "released" to regular ob. At regular ob's hand, all I got was one scan at 20 week. Even though I am close to 50, not considered to be hi risk pg, no more scans than usual.

Anyway, I can understand why Tom Cruise bought a U/S machine for his wife now. If I had the money, I would have done the same!. I rent a doppler which allowED us to listen to the baby's heartbeat since 8 weeks on and kept our sanity!

Congratulations again!

Carolyn,

The tears are rolling down my face!! No really - they are! I am so happy for you, and i totally agree with Rachel, that this has to be one of the happiest endings (beginings) that has ever been told on here.

I cant put into words how wonderful this is to hear. Im so happy for u hun .. and when im watching X-Factor on Sat, i will think of you and your WONDERFUL sister .... i saw this and thought of you ... please pass it on to her ...

Image

And pass on my love to her, she is priceless ... she is those little posters you have with the wee kids on it, and underneath it says:

Love is ...

Well me dear, Love is ... your sister

Even i love your sister for making u and DH so happy!

Image

Your mum must be so proud of her girls ... i know i would be!

Ok, gonna stop my babbling now ... im gonna start crying again (B just shouted in to me 'what's up' cos im sniffing away lol) so pleased, so very very pleased for you ...

Brilliant news Carolyn - seeing that flicker of the heartbeat for the first time is amazing - I am so thrilled for you. It was around this time last year we first saw our little girl's heartbeat so you must be due end of end of June/early July methinks! You have made my day :D
