Hi everyone,
I'm jumping on this forum (my main activity has been on the July forum) because, well, I'm 42 and doing my first ever IVF cycle and needing lots of support. For various reasons I got a late start on baby-making and am hoping that I didn't blow it all together.
Right now I am very close to my ER (waiting to hear if it will be Thursday or Friday). My meds this cycle have included Saizen, Lupron, Gonal-F, Menopur, and Dexamethasone. I have been going in everyday for u/s and b/w and they are definitely seeing anywhere from 14-18 follicles, with at least 14 of them growing away. So I think that is good news.
All of my early work-up results came back good. The ER wants to do IVF/ICSI because of my age and also my DH doesn't have the best sperm. So, my fingers are crossed although I'm nervous nervous nervous. Also, we are having some extensive and sophisticated genetic testing done once the ER is complete. It takes 4-6 weeks to get the results so the little embies will be frozen and my ET won't be until August or September. The waiting is killing me, but doing the testing will help our success rate so I think it's worth it.
Anyway, enough about me. I just wanted to say hello and to also extend my condolences to rsdrisco (I remember you from another thread). I'm sorry to hear your news but you still sound determined and positive and for that you are to be commended! I'll keep you in my thoughts and wish you the best of luck as you keep trying.
Cheers to everyone!
