Hi,
I thought I would join in the group. I have started my suppression cycle and will be doing an egg transfer the week of May 5th. I am 30 and have 2 year old twins and am I looking to have one more. My twins were conceived after 2 years of trying naturally and then 5 IUI cycles, this time after one failed IUI cycle I decided to try in-vitro instead. I have unexplained infertility, basically my husband and I are both perfectly healthy so there "should" be no reason we can't conceive.

For those doing an HSG, have you asked about a saline ultrasound instead? It is more $, but it gives just as good of a result and it is much less painful (in my opinion). I have had most of the testing done... twice, so I would be happy to share my experience with it.

good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind me crashing! I am just starting my 3rd IVF (also have had 2 FET). I start stimming tonight and the pharmacy did not send me my lupron  My RE said it will be OK but here goes the roller coaster ride again. I don't know what I would do without all of you ladies on this board :D I have not posted since last summer but have been following up periodically to see how everyone is doing! We are looking at ER on 4/16/10 with my beta on 5/1!

Could someone tell me how to change / update the signature on the bottom? I don't remember how I did it :?

I just wanted to pop on and let you know that I will not be proceeding with another round of IVF after all. My DH told me today that he just wants the two we have and doesn't want to try for more. I am devastated to say the least but what can I do - I can hardly force him to have more kids. Right now I am mad at him for giving me false hope and breaking my heart. I guess this is just another one of the many IVF disappointments in my life - and boy have there been many.

I wish you all success in the next month or two!
Kelly...I am so so very sorry. I am hopeful that maybe he will change his mind soon and that now is just not the right time. My DH felt that way at first...but is secretly hoping for twins now. lol So you never know. Big Hugs.

Lou lou and dys – welcome! I’m really looking forward to getting to know you!

PurpleFish – congrats on your twins. DH and I are secretly hoping for twins, but would be super thrilled with one happy and healthy baby.

Anissa – Welcome! You’re a total expert on here. This will be your time! Let the journey begin!

AFM - nothing to report! Just in jury duty right now, which is completely rediculous. At least I can call in instead of having to sit down at the court house. I'm really hoping that I don't have to go in! 2 days down, 8 more to go. I joined this Groupon website this week and found a great deal on a message this week. 90 minutes for only $53. So, I'm getting a well-needed message on Monday :) Wow, I am so looking forward to that!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Tiger04 - too funny, I am secretly hoping not to have twins again=) I am debating if I want to have 2 embryos transferred or just one. My RE told me with just 1 the success rate goes down by about 15%.... which is not particularly nice.

I ordered all my meds today for delivery... wow was it a lot of stuff.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi All,

I think I'm right in joining you here! I'm new to the whole IVF experience and have just started my supression cycle after having waited patiently since Jan for AF to finally arrive - on Good Friday, so I'll take that as a positive sign!

We'll be doing ICSI since DH has had a vasectomy and I have PCOS.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

PurpleFish - that's so funny that you say that...because I was thinking...hmm I wonder what would happen if purplefish had twins again! So, I was thinking if you were going to transfer 1 or 2. Keep me updated on that. I hear you with the odds, so many tough choices that we have to make!

I just planned a work trip for May 14th, that should be interesting...really hoping I'm pregnant by then! I'm staying the weekend and visiting a good friend and my mind is thinking...wouldn't that be nice to be able to tell her! See, I think way too far ahead for my own good. It's just so hard when I've been waiting for this for 2.5 years! Thought I would share because I know you all can relate!

I hope that everyone is doing well!

Hi Everyone - I started my Lupron on March 30th - that's going pretty well except for the HUGE bruise I gave myself on my second night - it was like I was brand spankin' new to the whole "give yourself a shot" deal...after that it's been going fine - I'm having my husband do it if he's home but he's so slow that I'd just as soon do it myself/get it done quickly! I have an ultrasound scheduled on April 26th (I'm taking a sick day from work) so I can just relax and then the trasfer is scheduled for May 3rd - I'm taking that whole week off work so I can relax and hopefully have it work this time. I have things scheduled on week 2 of the 2ww so I don't go completely crazy!! I'm doing an FET this time so I"m already looking forward to not having to do follistim and not having as many doctor's appointments!

I have a good feeling about this cycle - I just trying to stay positive and keep happy thoughts coming! Hope everyone is doing well - looking forward to going through this with all of you!

purpleFish - I'm looking forward to going through our cycles at almost exactly the same time - my wedding anniversary is May 5th so I told my husband we're just going to relax and spend the day together (last year on May 5th I had my HSG that showed I had 2 blocked fallopian tubes so I told him this anniversary has to be better than that day!) :)

Sweet dreams everyone!

First FET - May '10 - BFN

mcfarland2213 - stinks about the bruising! I have done 3 rounds of injectables before, but the Lupron has to be drawn out of the bottle and it is making me nervous. I am sure it will be fine, I am just anxious to try it the first time. Your plans for a relaxing for a week after the transfer sound perfect.

Tiger04 - If we did have twins again, we would be thrilled of course. The end goal is a healthy baby (or babies). The first time around it took us 3 1/2 years so yes I know it can be so hard waiting!

We have to attend our IVF teaching seminar tomorrow night. My husband has been moaning about it all week.

A friend was telling me about eating Pineapple after transfer to increase odds of implantation. Anyone else heard of this? I suppose it couldn't hurt anything.

I have a good feeling about this cycle too!

Hello there! :D:D:D

RIO!!! Hi girlie!!! It's so great to see you started a thread!!! I can't believe we'll cycle together, I hope we'll be pregnant at the same time too! :D:D:D

I am at work right now so I only read the first page of posts to get to know you a little bit. I promise I'll do more personals in the future. For now, I just wanted to let you know how happy I am to see that some of you are in the same situation as me (had a child or children with IVF/FET, and coming back for more!). I really hope we'll be able to sail through nice pregnancies together.

AFM, you can read my tmt marathon in my signature. DH is turning 40 this year so we really wanted to give #2 a try. DH wants to stop at 2 and hopes we won't have twins! ;) I wouldn't mind having more children, but 2 is fine with me. We're obviously hoping for a little girl this time, but we have such a sweet son that I wouldn't mind having another one like that at all!!!! Especially given that they would be from the same batch, lol! We have 3 frosties frozen in one package (May-June 2008) and we'll thaw all three. They have a 50-75% survival rate, so I hope we'll be able to transfer one or two. I've never been pregnant with twins, and I really don,t feel like multiples are in my future. We'll see.

I'm starting Suprefact (nasal spray) and baby aspirin on Sunday and I still have one feed to stop... (morning). I'll do it the morning I start my meds. I'll miss it, but at the same time my little boy is so cuddly and happy that I know we'll still be as close after he's weaned. DH, Dr and I all have a good feeling about this attempt, I became pregnant with all my FETs, so if it doesn,t work this time, it will only be a matter of stats and we'll go with one last IVF (hehehe hope not).

Okay, enough babbling, have to go back to work, but I'll catch up very soon. It,s great to meet you all! :)

Hi there! :) I read the study and you,d have to eat LOTS of fresh pineapple to make a significant difference. But hey, it's healthy, it's tasty, and it keeps you busy during the 2ww, so it's a plus anyway! ;)

I'm new to the website, but this looks like the place for me! I'm 24 and starting my first IVF cycle in May. My husband and I have been ttc for 2 years, I have PCOS and thyroid disease. I go tomorrow for my trial transfer and next week for our medication class. We are very excited to get started and I am excited to have found this website! Good luck to all of you!

Good morning ladies!

Okay, I have some free time at work so I'll do the personals I promised! :)

Dys, congratulations on the birth of your DD! :) What is her name? :D Wow, you don't waste any time, already preparing to jump back on the IVF train! :D It always makes me sad when I think about how money sometimes determines if some of us will be mothers or not. A good cyber-friend of mine, Miracle, whom I met on the awaiting tmt team, has been waiting since 2008 to start her very first tmt, accompanying countless others on this forum while waiting her turn. All because of money. I'm keeping everything crossed for you and I agree with your doctor. Once your body has known nesting/pregnancy, even only for a few weeks, it knows what to do. Many IVFers commented that it was easier to get a BFP a second time.

Louloujez, hi! :D First tmt then! It's always an adventure, so many new things... but you'll see, even if it's a roller coaster ride, it's not so bad. As for egg retrieval, wow, your clinic does it under general anaestesia? Have you had surgery before? I've had it three times and I can tell you, it's like falling asleep in three seconds. And you wake up peacefully. with all the testing, and all the interventions they do each year, they're highly specialized and they know what they're doing! :) Lots of baby dust for you!

Hi purplefish! :D it looks like we'll have transfer around the same dates, but our protocols are different because I'll have FET. I only start supression on day 21 of my cycle, which is Sunday. Congratulations on your twins! Girls or boys? Names? How do you feel about doing your first IVF? It's very different than IUI that's for sure. More apts and meds. Yup, when you gather all your meds together and look at the pile, it does seem like a lot!!!!!! Good luck to you dear! :D

Hi Anissa! Wow, you're quite a veteran, like me! :) It's such a long marathon... how do you feel about doing this IVF, different than the other times? It,s weird... it seems like you've lost the nervousness that comes with the first time, but you still know what's going to happen, so therE's some anticipation... but at the same time you doN,t know what the outcome will be and you think of the consequences, so there's nervousness all the same. Mixed feelings! As for the signature, it's easy. At the top of the page you'll see "user control panel". Click on that, then click on "profile" and on "edit signature". Voilà! :D Baby dust to you too!

Hi Tiger! Oooooooh a massage! :D Good idea, I think I'll get one too on transfer day! :D How are you doing? Wow, you did wait a long time... it sure would be a nice addition to the trip, a BFP party!!!! :D I'm crossing finger and toes for you!

Kizmet, hi!!!! Gosh, AF can be such a beoch sometimes! :) You've been very patient, and I really hope you'll be rewarded with a BFP!!!! How are you feeling about the whole thing?

mcfarland, hi! Yeah, FET cycles are way less demanding than IVF. Less meds, no injections in my case, which is also nice... It is very stressful, though, when they thaw your embies. Well, this time it will be, because we only have one pack left (3 embies). So if they don't survive, the cycle will be cancelled. BUT, we've always had good survival rates (50%) so far, so I'm sure this time we'll have at least one to transfer. Hey, looks like you've planned your time very well so you can manage the 2ww, it,s inspiring! I'll see what I can do to plan mine... :D

Hi Rypell! :D So the IVF journey begins for you! :D Baby dust to you!

Okay, time to do SOME work before I go to a 3-hour long presentation... I work in a hospital as a psychologist and they're taking the numeric turn for the files and we have to do training for that... ah, well, being able to read the doctors' handwriting will be a plus! :D

Take care,

Sophie

Anissa – I’m not sure how to update the signature…sorry I’m not of help there! How are you feeling? Your ER is only a week away! Can’t wait to see how many follies you have in there! When is your first Sns?

Kiz – welcome! I’m not super familiar with suppression cycle, do you take lupron for that? If you do, when do you start?

McFarland – Hi again! I had bruises on my stomach from the lupron and menuper in January and I was always self conscious in the locker room at yoga because it looked like I was a drug addict! I’m so rooting for you! What fun things do you have planned for the 2ww? Also, my DH birthday is May 5th!

Purplefish – oh my – 3 ½ years. How did you do it? I’m starting to go just crazy at 2 ½ years. Let’s hope this is our year. 2010 is going to be a great year! I heard on the last board that I was on in Jan/Feb that pineapple worked…well I’m not sure there were scientific results, but I like pineapple too, so why not!!

PMApsy (Sophie) – Congratulations on your son! What is his name? What a cute photo you have as your signature! I didn’t even think about that…that you would have to stop breast feeding to go through IVF because of the meds. Yet another thing, I learn something new each day. Do you know when your FET will be? Thanks for the well wishes and crossing all your fingers and toes. I’m doing good, just still waiting  always waiting… Ugh, 3 hour presentation. Not fun. Good luck though. Also, I’ve been speaking with Miracle! I’m going to PM her and see if she will join our group. She is just the best!!

Rypell – welcome! You are in the right place. It’s such a relief to find people that can relate to what you are going through. These women are a wealth of knowledge, so ask away!!

AFM - crazy week at work...like all of us...
