*****top part maybe a repeat for some of you that are on the May Cycle board****

Hi ladies
Sorry I've been MIA it's been a stressful week! The bleeding has subsided for the most part since my trip to the ER so that is awesome! I see my OB on Monday he put me back on Prog Supp. based on something he saw in my blood work from ER. I hate those things but whatever is going to help my two little ones is all worth it. I am having an awful time with sciatica! Anyone have any remedies :?: Our landlord told us he is selling the building and that the new owners want it vacant upon passing papers so we have until Sept. 1 to find a place and move. Oh and to top it all off my "wonderful" boss found out I was expecting twins and instead of congratulations he said "well looks like we'll have to find a replacement there is no way you will come back after you have them". I know he's a great guy. So needless to say things are a bit stressful I am trying not to let it get to me too much for the sake of the babies!

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for all the well wishes!

How are all the other twin mommy's doing?

Lisa-Twins :D :D How exciting. I nap quite often too so dont think twice about it! I think I go to bed when the sun is still up!

PA_FA-I feel the same way you do no sickness just nausea most of the day, especially at night! My food of choice anything with salt! If I could get a salt lick that would be great. And watermelon. Go figure. My husband gets grossed out watching me eat Watermelon and then green olives. I know its gross :) And everything gives me heartburn!

Millersmommy- Congratulations :D

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Hi Everyone - Sorry I've been away from the boards for awhile. I had some extreme "morning" sickness this past week which consists of constant nausea, threw up for the first time on Wed, and have been having occasional headaches, not to mention constipation (Sorry for the TMI, but I have a feeling I'm not alone). Feeling better since yesterday, even got on the eliptical for 30 mins yesterday.

Kittymom - I'm so sorry that you've been having a trying time with having to move and your boss, but I'm glad to hear that you are doing well since you're ER visit. You take care of those twins!

Millersmom - Congratulations and Welcome!

PA-FA - I've been having weird food issues as well. One thing I have figured out is if I have protein in the morning, I have less nausea during the day. So as much as a pain it is to cook an egg and bacon compared to a bowl of cereal and fruit, it has made my life a little easier. I realized that my cravings typically involve a carbohydrate and salt, so I have to force myself to eat some fruit too. One thing that is weird for me is my new aversion to leftovers. Never had an issue before, but the thought of eating something that's been prepared and sitting in my fridge is not at all appealing.

Stephanie - How are things going for you and the twins? Thanks for your tip on the doppler, I of course looked them up but I can't imagine buying something that I'll only use for the next 7 months as a get anxious about all the stuff I'll need to 2 babies! Maybe you can just me yours when you're done! :)

Lisadb - I don't think I've Congratulated you yet on your twins! I say let's all sleep as much as we can not only is it good for us, but none of us will be getting any shut eye when our little ones arrive!

Purplefish - How are you coming along? I can't imagine what it must be like to look after twins while pregnant with twins!

Daisy - Have you had your scan yet? I had my first scan at 5 wks because my betas were so high and RE wanted to see how many of the 3 embryos stuck. That's when we found out we're having twins. I had my second scan at 6 wks to see the heart beats. After that, my RE had to transfer me to my OB. OB isn't going to do a scan until week 20, but since we've decided to do screening which includes a scan which we'll be having one around week 14 or 15. Having said that, I called my OB last week and asked what she could do to help a highly-anxious, IVF-veteran to know that my embryos are okay? So, she's letting me go in on Thursday (I'll be 9 1/2 wks) for a quick scan at her other office! :) I knew I liked her!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

mev - sorry to hear about the morning sickness. I too have been battling it, like many others. Luckily mine is easing up a bit this week. I threw up almost every day for about two weeks... yuck! I also have been dealing with constipation, the good news is that this is all normal!!! I know that may be hard to remember when staring at your favorite toilet, but it means your body is doing what it should. I am tired as anything and most nights I crash at 8:30, but I am hoping in a few weeks I get my energy back.

PA - I agree with mev, adding some protein seems to help me as well. Especially if I have a high protein snack before bed. My stomach was really bad for about two weeks. I swear all I ate was soup, crackers and tortillas=) Drinking lots of water is always a good idea, and some ginger ale or ginger tea might help with the stomach.

Lisa - naps... I am so jealous!

millersmommy - congrats and welcome!

Stephanieford78 - it is funny Hannah was always doing flips in my belly and she is now my little tumbler. I really think they have personality already=) You will be so excited when you meet them for the first time!

Kittymom - When I told my boss last week I was having twins, he asked me if I was quitting. It bugged me that he said that. I don't want to quit, I have been working part time since my son and my plan was to go back full time after my youngest(s) are in school. Although, I am really concerned about paying for twice a week daycare for 3 kids, as well as the fact that we need to buy a minivan. I have been worrying that we won't be able to afford to do it all and that I might need to go back full time now...which is not what I wanted. My plan was to be both a mommy and to be able to keep up with my skills, so that going back full time wouldn't be a problem years down the road.

Pafa - I have been eating a lot of cold fruit...preferably frozen fruit. I have been freezing grapes and raspberries and it helps my "sickness" temporarily. I craved fruit the last time and I am glad it's my craving again.

Purplefish - I have to get my naps in while I can because when the twins come I doubt I will be able to nap again for quite a few years.

AFM - I had cramping and bleeding on Friday night. My OB afterhour doctor let me come in at 10:30 p.m. to do an ultrasound and both heartbeats looked good. I can't believe that I am already showing. I had gotten so big with my son that so many people kept asking me if I was going to have twin. Now that I am going to have twin, are people going to be asking me if I have triplets?

lisa - it is so hard when people assume what you are going to do. I am sorry your boss put you in an awkward position. It is always stressful dealing with working vs not working daycare and all that stuff, especially if you need a new car on top of that! Hopefully you can figure something out that will allow you to work part-time like you want to. How old is your son? Have you told him yet about the new babies yet? I love that you can take naps. My kids gave up naps at 2 (they are kids that really don't need a lot of sleep), so afternoons have been a bit of a struggle for me. I am already showing too, I think when it is not your first your muscles are not so tight and you pop out sooner. I was huge with my kids, if I stood sideways in a normal house doorway my belly filled up the whole thing. Big belly = big healthy babies, so I didn't care.

HI Mev0630 - I haven't had a scan yet. I'm scheduled for this Friday morning and I'm suppose to be 7 weeks then. I hope everything is okay in there and we get a nice picture on Friday. All this waiting is killing me.

Hi Ladies,

I'm coming from the IVF June Cycle buddies.

I am due on 02/28/11 and can't wait. We had our first ultrasound yesterday and our lil one had a 138bpm heart rate which our Doctor said was very strong. It really hit me that there is a baby inside me while I was watching the U/S. My DH was with me by my side and actually taped the appointment.

A few hours after the appointment I went to the restroom and was bleeding. We got worried and called the Doctor on call right away even though she said some bleeding would be normal. The Doctor said if it continues to call back but that we should be ok. I checked a little while later and was relieved that the bleeding had stopped! Ended up resting the rest of the evening and there was no bleeding at all today either.

Next U/S is scheduled for next week. Will update you then!

Just wanted to check in with everyone here and see how everyone was feeling. Had my OB appt on Monday. Saw the little ones and all is well :) Had a good visit with the OB. Not such a great visit with the doctor that read the u/s who told me "not to tell too many people cause it is only 9 weeks and the miscarriage rate is still high" I flipped out a bit on him and left. Great bedside manner he has! But then I saw the OB and he said everything looked good so I'll go by his positive energy instead.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Me I'm just tired and moody but that's it. Odd but I'll take it!

Kitty - Glad to hear everything is ok. I would have tore him a new hole if it were me! My embryologist told me right before the transfer that he has been so well to give singleton babies that they never had triplets before. Went on to say that they have had some twins but none of them ever made it. Then go figure I get pregnent with twins and tha comment he made still haunts me. Well, unless there was someone before me, I am carrying these babies to term damnit! One of my friends was told by a nurse that she will likely deliver before October because of the way she is carrying. She is a twin mom too, just like us (went through IVF) and due the day before me and a nurse tells her she is going to have two babies well over a month premature? How stupid is this nurse? Do these people know what all we go through and that we have enough to worry about? Some people need shock collars!!! Good idea to take the good juju doctor's energy. lol Keep the PMA up! :)

Narly - Congrats on your little bean! Don't worry too much about bleeding. It's scary but I had it too. I bled for 5 weeks acually. Not fun at all but boh babies were and sill are wonderful and healthy!

Lisa - Not sure if you caught my reply to you in the other thread, but thank you for your advice! I wish I could turn to my mom too, but she is gone. She was a twin and funny enough, after a couple failed attempts of IVF, on the last one I went to I wore her wedding ring to the transfer. I kept it on and have every day since because not only did it finally work, but I am having twins. Coninsidence? ;) I hope the bleeding is completely gone, I hated seeing blood. I had a SCH and it felt like forever till it finally went away. My RE was awesome though and never let me think it was ever going to hurt the babies. Thankfully I had him and his good energy to focus on because otherwise I was a nervous wreck. lol I was showing early too by the way! I would say 10 weeks and some could already tell I was preggers. Now I look like I am ready to pop. lol

Purple - That's cue about Hannah. The twins are all yin and yang in there right now. Ethan has his head down while Angelina has her head up. At the last visit to the perinatologist he said they were both measuring 1.5 lbs and that was really good and even on the big side for 22 weeks. They are moving more and more and definately have a personality and yes, can't wait to meet them... but I will! ;)

Mev - Things are well as they can be over here. :) Sleeping, walking, even standing is becoming a pain in the arse, but it's all worth it. lol Sleeping is the biggest uncomfortable thing for me. Something with the pressure when I am lying on my back makes me makes strange moaning noises. What is that?? It keeps me up when I am in between sleep at night. The only way to stop it is to turn on my side, but the whole reason I was on my back to begin with was because both sides of my hips hurt from laying on my side. LOL Joy joy!! I hear you on the doppler, that's why I got a cheapy one. lol I didn't see spending 100 bucks on something that I wouldn't use very often. Plus, I got it later on in the pg to calm my nerves about my girl since I couldn't feel her. Now she is moving all over the place and I am feeling much better about both of them. Right now one of my pg friends has the doppler... not sure if or when I will get it back. lol She already admitted to being addicted to listening.

Daisy - Can't wait to hear about your scan. Wondering if you will join the many twin moms or not. :) It's always so hard to go by beta numbers to find out but it can be a good guideline. :) Either way, your numbers look great!

Ladies... thank you all for letting me crash and keep in contact with you lovely mommies!

Stephanieford78 - I had to laugh at you saying you are uncomfortable sleeping... not in a mean way, but I know what is coming up and it doesn't get better. I think trying to sleep at the end was the hardest part for me. The good news is the more uncomfortable you are the bigger and healthier those babies are =) One thing that helped me was a warm bath or shower before bedtime, it relaxed my muscles enough to let me fall asleep. I couldn't get in and out of the tub by myself though, so my husband gave me a bell to ring so he could help me. I can't believe you can still lie on your back. Around 16 weeks, one of the babies was right over the artery that runs up the back, so if I would lay on my back I would start to get wozy! Your kiddos are great weights, I hope they keep growing and growing. That nurse was a doof, tell your friend that position is not really a good indicator of how early the kids will be born. I had a very unusual positioning one was breech with legs straight under the other's head, and I was fine.

Daisy - good luck with the scan tomorrow!

Kitty - some people are so insensitive. No OB nurse should say that to anyone... ever! I don't think people like that really think about what they are saying and how it effects others. Keep up the positive energy!

narly - congrats and welcome. Great heartbeat! I am sorry you had a bleeding scare, it is very normal... but still so scary when it happens.

I had my first OB appointment Monday. It was nothing exciting. They could only find one heartbeat with the doppler so they had to pull out the ultrasound (which was nice) and everyone is doing great. We made the choice not to do genetic testing. I understand both points of view, but for me I could never terminate, so I will take whatever comes my way.

Hope you are all feeling okay!

narly- congrats!!!! I'm sorry you had a scare too. I had one also around 6 wks and everything is fine now so far. :)

Stephanie- Crash any time. I read the winter thread as much as this one and the may ivf board. I guess I will start posting on all three????? LOL

AFM- I guess I update more on the may ivf board. But...for those of you who aren't reading that anymore. I have been having this irrational fear of losing my baby. It just seems too good to be true and I have so many friends with losses. I talked (bullied) my OB into giving my a u/s yesterday to make sure everything was ok. I saw the hb for the first time. I never saw it on my 6 wk apt. Then...during the u/s the baby flipped over. DH was freaking out. I'm not sure which was cuter, baby bean flipping or DH freaking out. LOL I have been back to flying this week. Off to London tomorrow. SOOOOOOOO tired!

Stephanie-I agree about getting a shock collar for that 'wonderful" doctor! What a great idea, maybe I'll bring a taser next time! I too had a doctor tell me that I'd probably deliver up to 5 weeks early. I mean really I knew I was pregnant with twins for all of two minutes when she blurted that out, but I have decided to pay no attention to anyone except my OB so that helps!

Purple-How are you feeling? Is this twin pregnancy treating you any different than the last? It wasn't an OB nurse who said that it was a Doctor who read the u/s! Can you believe it! A Doctor at a Catholic Hospital!!!!!! So much for his Faith, Hope, and Prayers huh?

I discussed the Genetic testing with my OB after Doctor personality gave us a pamphlet. OB said that the u/s is a good opportunity to see the babies again but that the blood work is not reliable since you cant tell how the levels are split between the two babies. So we'll have it done but really not put much stock in it at all.

Hope everyone is well :)

I want to smack people who say you will deliver early... seriously. First of all full term for twins is 38 weeks not 40, so some people including nurses and doctors say that is early... even though you can't possibly go full term... so dumb! I am part of a twins group and lots of moms deliver between 36-38 weeks which is perfect. Some people really have not tact=)

We had our first ultrasound this morning at exactly 7 weeks. Everything looked good and the biggest news is that it's... TWINS!!! OMG OMG OMG
DH and I are still in shock. But we couldn't be happier. We heard each of the babies heartbeats and I started crying. We've wanted this for so long that hearing them was the sweetest sound we've ever heard! We have another visit in a week and a half for another US and if everything looks good we'll be released to an OB. OMG OMG OMG
