How exciting for you both!! I've been super busy with the holidays, so happy that's all over and done with. I got my calendar in the mail, and I start my estrogen patches on the 12th. Transfer is scheduled for 1/31...can't wait! Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Do you ladies know when your transfer will be? I'm also taking estrace tablets and progesterone. Are you guys taking that also? I'm nervous because I've never done an FET, but also super excited! The days can't move fast enough. I'm praying that we'll have success!!
Hope - Thanks for the support. Kinda funny that the three of us are doing a FET at almost exactly the same time.
Hopeful - That's awesome!
I started estrogen (just oral) this past Monday. My tentative/earliest transfer date would be 1/23. I should be starting progesterone on 1/10 if my lining is good enough. I'm just happy to be doing something - moving towards my goal.
Hopeful, do you know your dosages? Right now I'm on 2mg 2x/day and switching to 3x/day starting tomorrow.
I'm going to start estrogen patches on the 12th. It'll be .1 mg 2x/day for a few days then I switch to 3x/day, 4x/day, then back to 2. I'm also taking estrace (I think it's called) and prometrium. I have my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork on Thursday, so I hope everything goes well!! Let me know how things are going. I'm counting down the days until my transfer and hoping everything goes smoothly!
Hi Hopeful,
My oral estrogen is estrace too. I have alarm clocks set exactly every 8 hours so I take my pills on time. I hope you are still on a flexible schedule as 4x a day doesn't give you too much uninterrupted sleep at night. Also, try to eat with the pill. I got horrible stomach pains the first few days as my body was adjusting to them.
But now the important part - how was your ultrasound today!? Do you get to start??
Everything went well with my baseline, we are good to go. I start my estrogen patches on Sunday, I'm just so excited!! How's everything going for you??
That's great, hopeful! Looking forward to hearing how yours progresses.
I'm going nuts. I had my check-up today to start the progesterone, but my lining is still way too thin. She's giving me a few extra days on estrogen before we cancel this round. I'm really hoping it gets to 8 mm by Wednesday. It's really crazy how each step is such a process. We just need to celebrate all the little victories.
Keep me posted on your progress. Hopefully everything will go smoothly on Wed!! That's right, celebrate all the small victories It's the best we can do.
I just spoke with my RE about the thawing and the transfer. She suggested we thaw 6 embryos (We have 11 total) to blast stage. She said this will give me the highest chance in pregnancy because we'll be able to implant the best 2 embryos. We have a choice whether to do 3 day or blast transfer because my embryos were frozen as soon as they started fertilizing. What are you guys doing in your frozen transfers? RE said the choice is mine, so now I'm doing some research, but was curious about you ladies.
Hi Hopeful, That sounds great! I assume your RE will make sure your lining is good before they thaw anything so that if you aren't ready, you don't lose any embryos.
Also, I would ask what they are going to do with the thawed embryos that they don't transfer and if they get re-frozen.
If I were you, I'd play it by ear in the same way its done in a fresh transfer. If on day 3, you have multiple good embryos developing, I would wait until day 5. You know a lot more about the chromosomal viability of an embryo on day 5 than on day 3. Find out if you need to decide the day 3/ day 5 question definitively before you start or just on the day you decide to transfer.
Hey Hopeful, Thanks for checking in. I didn't want to tell you guys until after you hopefully had successful cycles, but my lining didn't grow. Going to try to salvage it. May do a transfer anyway even though its only at 6 mm. We'll see.
Good luck to you! I hope your progressing nicely. I assume you go back in later this week for a lining check before you add the progesterone?
Mommyoneday-I'm so sorry to hear that your cycle may be canceled. I will say some prayers for you that everything works out. I had to cancel my cycle because I've been sick. I didn't want to start out on the wrong foot and I wanted to wait until I felt better. I'm pretty bummed. Now I have to wait for my period and start over. Hopeful- check out this link. It has great information about day 3 vs. day 5 embryos. http://www.healthline.com/health-blogs/ ... e-transfer
How are you guys feeling on the medications? How long does it take you from the start of the medications to the transfer? Seems like my doc is adding a few extra steps. I have to start off with two weeks of BC and then a couple more weeks after that of meds.
Good luck to the both of you! Keep me posted.
Hopeful, haven't heard from you in a while. I hope you are feeling good. Let us know how your next ultrasound and blood work go.
Hope, I'm sorry you had to push off your cycle, but I'm glad that you'll be starting off on the best foot and healthy. I know some doctors start off with bcp to prevent ovulation, maybe that's why.
So my cycle was cancelled. My lining is pathetic at 5.5 mm. I can't try another cycle for at least another 6 months because of work. I really should be waiting a year, but I don't want to. We'll see.
Good luck to both of you! I'll be praying for your cycles and your soon-to-be babies.
Mommyoneday, I'm so sorry to hear that. That's awful news and it sucks. Being patient is so hard during these times. Do they know why the lining didn't grow? Did they not give you enough medication? Don't blame yourself, try not to I should say because I knwo it's really hard to do that. I'm sorry you can't try again for 6 months, will your work not give you enough time off for another cycle? At least your babies are frozen and well-taken care of, just of think of them and smile. I call them my little snowbabies, especially with this freezing weather!
Hope 22, I did bcp for 2 weeks to begin my fet. I started my estrogen 19 days before my scheduled transfer date. I'm sorry yours was also cancelled. That really sucks, but you'll be better off I'm sure. How soon can you schedule your next one? That link was awesome, thank you!! I felt fine on the meds, I've only been on the estrogen patches so far and I get a headache every now and then, but really it makes extremely tired, I've been sleeping 10-11 hours a night. I'm not sure this is a normal side effect, but it's better than shots! I started estrace last night and haven't had any side effects. I start progesterone on Sunday, so we'll see how that goes.
I think we decided to do a blast transfer. I had my ultrasound and bloodwork today, everything looks good, my lining was 8mm and we are still on track for next Friday. Monday we start thawing 6 possible babies! I feel really bad for you guys though, please don't think I'm gloating.
I'll keep you ladies in my prayers. The waiting and the unknown is the worst part of infertility. Don't give up hope!!
