Hi Susan,
Lovely to be cycling with you again (although both of us would obviously prefer not to be but to be over the other side instead). I am finding injecting buserelin much better than sniffing it 3 x a day. Because you can do it in the morning then forget it for the rest of the day. I am however very flat and miserable. Dp doesn't help as just ignores me instead of pampering to me. This happened last time so I know it will pass.
The worst things are my headaches/migraines. Again this happened last time, and they stop as soon as I start stims.
But all in all I am again very excited ... it must be 3rd time lucky this time surely. I have imagined getting the positive result so many times that I really do hope it comes true this time.
Just want to start the stimms - should be 21st Oct. At least I know I respond well to the drugs - had 12 fertilised embies last time so again hoping for a bumper crop.
Susan - how many frosties have you got?
Julie, Toni, Valli - I feel like an old timer compared to you three!!!! Even though I've been in the ivf game for only a year. Hope you are all doing well. I've just bought an orange scarf - does that count?
Tricia (aka Londongel) - we start stims the same time so should also be on our 2ww together too. Stimms is the exciting bit as you get to see the follicles growing in size and number. We can also discuss the socks on or socks off for the scans debate!!!
Jill - how are you doing. You're going to be the first one of the buddies to get a positive.
Bye for now.

Hi Buddies,
Well its day 6 of 2ww now oh the videos I have sat through!!!
I am feeling ok just nervous I guess as this is my first and only attempt due to age (40) and lack of egg donors, I had a donor on behalf of this time which put me at the top of the list yeh right it still took so long.
Sophie

Hi sophiejane,
I had one failed IVF. I took injections for down regging. No side effects on that, other than the pain. This month going for the cycle again with same medication.
Talk to your Doctor.
Good Luck.

Hello All,
I'm just joining you all, took quite a long time for me to pluck up the courage to admit to myself that I needed this support. I'm due in for egg retreival on Tuesday .
Things have gone pretty well for me so far. No real side effects. I was on synarel spray and didn't really have any side effects from that so I wouldn't worry if I were you Tricia. I was a bit worried that it wasn't working too but the baseline scan showed 9 follicles (reasonable for someone my age so they said!!!
With a bit of luck I'll be joining some of you on the 2ww and will no doubt do my share of worrying.

Hello Jill,
You must be going through hell at the moment. I know that if I get as far as having the 2ww I'll be impossible. I'm impatient at the best of times so I guess that DH will have to put up with a lot.
My final injection really hurt so that has not helped how I'm feeling today. I just want tomorrow to come quickly - I spent a few hours in work today not really concentrating on anything except tomorrow.
I hope that your af pains turn out to be nothing and that things are great for you on Friday.
Thanks for 'listening'

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for the lovely note. well the pains continue so I don't know. I am still resting just in case I think it is really important that you don't have anything to look back on and regret. I am sorry your injection was so painful, as I used an egg donor I didn't have any injections at all. So it's Egg collection tomorrow for you I really hope it all goes smoothly and that you have good things to tell us. Good luck Debbie let us know how it goes love Jill xx

Hi Debbie,
How did ec go. Hope all was well, and that you have those two eggs that you need. Let us know how it went, and I have my fingers crossed that they will soon be top grade embryos.
How's everyone else. My headaches have eased off but I am still very flat and emotional. I read the baby trail book - it was really good (although I sobbed my heart out) in that it made me see that there is a time to stop ivf and concentrte on the future - i.e. adoption or surrogacy. My sister has told be that she will be a surrogate but my dp is not sure. He tells me off for thinking about it as we haven't finished this ivf cycle yet. I suppose I should be more positive. I jsut cry every time I think about day 14 of 2ww. I don't think I will be able to stand the wait.
I've also made a really big mess up of my buserlin injections. The nurse did not tell me that I needed to take the injection at the same time everyday, so I have been taking it when I wake up - anytime between 6:30 and 8:30. I am now so worried that I have messed up the cycle and wont get to the stims stage (after bloody down regging for 4 weeks). I have a scan on Friday so will find out then. I've also had some bleeding (light af) which I didn't have last time. I'm not religious at all but have just phoned my riend and asked her to go and light a candle for me at her church. I feel I need all the luck I can get. Going to book in a few acupuncture sessions and jsut wack the cost on my credit card.
Susan - I have such good vibes about this cycle for you. You've had a positive test result before so your body now knows what to do in excepting the embryos. This time they will stick around for sure ... if you look at the profiles on the other side so many have got pregnant again after a miscarriage. You so deserve it to happen.
All the best to you all.
Love from Sophie-J

Hi Sophie,
me again, I have just read where you are up to. I am glad the head aches have eased I had a few when I was down regging (which I did for 7 weeks!!!) I had one AF then was given more drugs to have a second as I hadn't down regged properly. However I did in the end and treatment continued so don't worry about that. Take care love Jill xx
