Hi everyone,
Haven't been on for a few days, work is a bit hectic which is good really coz it's making this week go faster. But it looks like I've missed out on lots.
Dolly
Glad AF showed up, now you're on your way. I can't believe that you have already started stims.
You and Alette are really powering ahead, short protocol is cool.

Alette,
Very best of luck for the EC on Saturday, everything crossed for lots of good eggs. Are you going for sedation?

Claire,
I down regg with the sniffing drug Synarel. I use it once in the morning once in the evening. It drives me nuts because for about 20 minutes after it I sneeze like crazy, my eyes stream and I regularly get asked about my "dreadful cold" !! But with all that I still prefer it to the injections. No other side effects.

I'm back to the clinic tomorrow for a scan so fingers crosed we'll get the go ahead for ICSI on Tuesday and EC on Wednesday.

BTW,
A tip on injections - if you're using the auto-injector, make sure it's alligned straight over the thigh. My DH was in a bit of a rush the other morning and stuck it in at an angle -ouch, ouCH OUCH

More later

Hi Claire

I hope you don't mind me butting in, but I'm really pleased you're in there at last at, St Marys. (They didn't accept your last request - right ?) You'll probably be downregging with Buserelin injections, via a v. small needle. It's not an auto-injector, but it is the same needle that a diabetic uses for insulin. It goes in the top of the arm, at an angle, and really doesn't hurt.

Good luck !! Let's have a St Mary's +ve pls !!!

Hi Ladies

Hope everyone is well, sorry I've not posted but been really tired with AF and was away in London at the weekend.

Alette - EC Saturday that is so fast, 10 follies, thats great as you say though just as long as you get some good ones. Do you feel everything has gone really fast?

Dolly - stims already, again its so fast, short protocol seems to be the way to go, have you got dates for your EC yet?

Edi- Are you set for EC on Wednesday?

Fingers crossed you will all get the best Christmas present!!

Claire - Hi. I had the drugs to bleed as well, I took them for 7 days and it took another 7 days for my AF to come, my last one was the start of Sept. Try not to worry about the drugs and stuff, Dollys right the 2ww is the biggest thing.

My injections are going ok, don't need to go back to the hospital till the 14th for a scan so still hoping for FET about 29-30 December.

Can I ask a really strange question- have any of you altered your cosmetics or toiletries before your cycle, don't panic I haven't heard anything to say you should I just wondered.

Speak to you all later

Morning Girls, hope you're all well.

Alette, good luck with your EC tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and hope you get lots of good eggs. Do you have it under sedation or general?

Edi, good luck for your scan tomorrow. Hopefully they will give you a date for EC.

Claire, I'm not sure what a diabetic style pen is. But, I have used an autoinjector in the past - when I first started out I preferred not to see the syringe! But I am so used to having injections now (I had 55 in total on my last cycle!!) that I prefer to have them without.

Wendy, I did alter my deoderant once and went for one without aluminium - but found it didn't work - so swapped back! Didn't think it was fair to make people around me suffer (especially as it was during the summer!).

Love

Edi good luck!

My, did I make a mess of it!

I had to prepare the injection pregnyl to set it at exactly 22.00 for the EC will be at 09.00 tomorrow.

Last attempt I had a problem with the needle and set the injection 30 minutes too late (what a stress, we had to hurry in evening to the nearest farmist, which is 25 minutes away)

this time:

I totally forgot!!

Totally!!

Set it 1 hour too late!!

After a bad night I called this morning immediately.... do not worry too much....

but I do!!!

Alette

Don't worry you'll be fine tomorrow. No offence but I laughed when i read your post. It reminded me of the time i was in Spain for a week for work and ran out of Synarel. And not something easily available i nyour local Spanish pharmacy. My DH had to DHL me some more which they lost   never use DHL. SO I spent 2.5 days totally stressed out waiting for this drug to arrive. Rang the clinic in floods of tears but they said it was OK- touch and go but fine. In the end I probably did more harm through the anxiety and stress than I did through not taking the drug!
So take it easy, I'm sure everything will go great tomorrow.

Wendy,
Never heard anything about cosmetics in relation to IVF. But I have heard to stay away from highly perfumed things at this time and during pregnancy due to the high chemical content.

My scan went fine today, they didn't actually say how many follies but all set for EC on Wednesday.

Hi there,

Alette, hope it all went well on Saturday - we havn't heard from you today - have you had ET today?

Edi, I ran out of Buserelin last time as well - it makes you panic though when you think you might be screwing things up.

I have got my scan tomorrow morning - I have only had 6 days of stims so I imagine I will be back in again for another one on Thursday.

I have had such a sh*tty day at work today :( ... I just want to go home and curl up in my duvet! I found out at the weekend that my sister is expecting her third child... and I can't help thinking why isn't it that easy for me.... but musn't feel sorry for myself!

Hopefully I will have a better day tomorrow!

Love to all

Hi Everyone,

Dolly - Sorry to hear you're feeling crappy. I know exactly how you feel. I spent a long time wanting to kill the next smiling pregnant lady to pass my way. But don't let it get to you, stay focused and positive about your own cycle. You need all of your energy for you!
Best of luck for the scan today.

Alette - hope all is well. Have you transferred yet?

Wendy - How are the injections going?

Today is my first drug free day :D no more injections. My DH has ICSI this afternoon and tomorrow is EC.

Hi everyone,

thank you for your replies last week, I've only just read them because I've been away for a few days.
I went to st.mary's yesterday and they gave me a progesterone based pill to start a bleed. I've started to take them today and then I should have AF within the next couple of weeks.
I'm looking at the first couple of days in january to start down regging.
Will you update me on your progress? I'm a bit behind with everyone!
thanks
claire

Hi Guys, hope you're all - I have had a slightly better day to day, but am still feeling a little bit down :( .

Anyway, I had my scan today, which is day 6 of stims, and I have 10 follicles (6 of which are of a good size and 4 smaller) - I now have to start injecting Orgalutron as well as stims to stop me ovulating. I was a bit disappointed with the number of follicles as they were hoping this method might produce more eggs - but I should be grateful I've got any I suppose.

I have to go back in for another scan on Friday.

Edi, good luck with your EC tomorrow. Sorry - I didn't understand what you meant by DH having ICSI yesterday - what is that? I thought ICSI was when they injected the sperm into the egg after EC...

Love to all

Hi Everyone

Alette - hope everything has gone well for you and you are keeping your embryos cosy.

Dolly - sorry to hear you are fed up, 10 follicles is a good start, will they decide on Friday if you are nearly ready for your EC?

Claire - hope your AF comes soon, mine took a week after finishing the tablets.

Edi - good luck with your EC tomorrow.

My injections are going fine, hopefully by the time I go for a scan next Tuesday I will be ready to start the other drugs in preperation for my FET. I feel they are starting to work though as nearly burst into tears this morning at 'all I want for Christmas' song on the radio!

Speak to you all soon

Hi there,

Alette, glad to hear it all went well. EC can be a bit painful sometimes - apparently I say "Ow" a lot but luckily don't remember anything about it afterwards! So is your test date the 22nd December? Hope you're taking it easy!

Wendy, I feel a bit teary too - I started crying when I heard the Band Aid song on the radio this morning! Very strange behaviour! I think I will be told on Friday when EC will be - I reckon Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Love
