Hi Anna,

Thanks for all your messages. I'm sorry I havent been on for a few days, but our hospital is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way and we were there on Saturday for another scan, then went to visit my mum and sister who live by the hospital. On Sunday I got everything ready and all other jobs up-to-date for going to hospital on Monday for ER. We got 4 eggs on Monday (boy was that painful!!) and all 4 had fertilised by yesterday morning. I am just in from taking the train home today and we got 2 Grade 1 embies put back today. One more embie is to be frozen and the other one didn't divide. So that's it. I feel weird, I can't beleive everything just comes to a standstill now after all that weeks of jags and trips to the hospital. I know that it's out of our hands now and I just pray that the next two weeks will pass quickly.

So how are you? Are you planning your next cycle yet? I bet you are and quite right. I would be the same. Are you going back to the same clinic or are you looking at other ones? We don't have a lot to choose from up here, but we went to the best one for us. Will they try you on different drugs next time round? There are different ones out there and I always wonder how they decide what's right for each person. I guess it's trial and error a lot of the time.

Please give me an update on what you're planning next and how you're getting on. I still think about you all the time and like I've already said, you're full of determination and will get good results next time round.

Take care and speak soon.
:D

Hi Dizzie, glad to see you are Ok. 2ww, wow, hope it flies by! I'm with you all the way, look after yourself. The ladies on here say you should act like you ARE pregnant.

We have an appointment on tues (13th) to discuss our next steps. Will stay with the same clinic. It's only a 20min drive away. They have a good record for over 40 ladies like me. I have also got to know the nurses and they are fantastic.

Not sure what the outcome will be. Probably wait and wait and wait for AF (it takes ages after a prostap jab!) then go for a short cycle when there is no down reg. This will prob be in Feb....so long to wait :(

But in between there is Christmas ho ho ho . Have you seen the advent calender thread? It's great.

Like I said, really good to hear from you. Sending you baby dust.

Happy Staurday to all!

Dizzie, are you looking after yourself?
Remember no christmas shopping, no battling through the carparks and the looooong queues at the till, no trying to hang onto plastic bags that cut your fingers to shreds and definately no elbowing other shoppers as you hunt for the last pressie for long lost Aunty hairy -chin!

Ok, a slightly cynical look at the festive season. May the hols be fab with loads of scrummy food and fantasic presents!

Me , still waiting for AF. Have a feeling I am in for a long wait! Off to clinic on Tues for chat about tmt. One minute feel that I am going to march in there and tell them what's what and the next minute all nervous and subservient and will be ready to listen and go ahead with what they tell me to do!

I read on another thread about a girl in Yorshire who, at ER had half eggs IVF'd and other half ICSI'd. Sounded like a good idea to me. The IVF eggs didn't fertilise but the ICSI ones did so she had those transferred. Hadn't heard of that before. Any thoughts? Am I clutching at straws to speed this process up?

Have a good weekend

bye for now

Anna
There are many pro's and cons between icsi and ivf. Ivf the fitest sperm get htrough to the egg in icsi any selected sperm is injected into the eggs..both can fertilise...the pros and cons are too many to mention...The clinic may do both...it depends on egg quality and sperm quality...they will advise...is it this tues you go? 13th? Hope you get some answers then...will look forward to your updates.

DF and i are thinking of leaving the next ivf until May...to rest and rejuvinate myself and go a long holiday in April as it helped lower my FSH level last time before tmt.

Will let you know when i meet with the consultant....

Hi Anna,

I'm still here and trying to take it easy. I fear that this bloody IVF thing is honestly never ending. Never mind, I'm truly thankful that we've got this far.

So clinic on Tuesday? I'll be thinking about you and hubbie. If I were you I'd be looking at them for some answers. With all your cycles so far, they must know by now what's working for you and what's not. Remember your PMA? You need that on Tuesday and a written list of all the questions you need to ask. I found that if I didn't ask, they weren't all that forthcoming with answers.

Well, I'm truly happy that you're on your way again and I look forward to hearing from you on Tuesday with all your exciting new revelations. :D

Take care and just think off all the BAD things you can be getting up to just now and the fun you should be having with hubbie. x

Thanks for you messages ladies.
Am feeling up and down as the appointment gets nearer. I know I need to be assertive and positive and ask all the right questions ..but when I get in there I seem to forget all that and just listen and agree to everything they say. Then on the way home I get cross with myself!!!
Tomorrow WILL be better as I am giving myself a good pep talk and DH and I have written out a set of questions to ask.

Dizzie, look after yourself. When is your test date? Hope the days are flying by for you. :)

Jen, hope you are Ok. When is your next meeting with the consultant?Having a break from everything sounds like a good idea. You have more patience than me!

Hi ladies, can I ask if anyone has been through a similar experience of no follies from stimming on day 21 to undergoing a short cycle protocol when you don't down reg.
I got the impression from my consultant that if this short cycle didn't work that we would be looking at DE or adoption. Can you really only have one go at a short cycle protocol?

Dizzie and Jen hope you are OK today.
Bye for now

Anna
i was told the same if no stimming response by day 21 then no hope for eggs, therefore ovaries not responding and donor egg to be used. I found that the down reg drug was too harsh for me...so no follies. But on short protocol by 1st scan ( day 7 stimmimg) we could see follies growing and my mind was put at rest. Acu or reflexology at this time also boosts follie growth.Have you followed up that one yet?

also you could try pm-ing Smita she went through short protocol and Sand is due to start her short protocol in January. Again try asking on over 40's for response on short protocol.

take each step one day at a time read zita's book the visulisation parts it helped me...

good luck honey
