That stuff is adorable! I'm starting to think about the nursery right now and it makes it tough since we don't want to find out the sex until birth. DH's idea is to do 2 rooms (as we are lucky to have 2 spare bedrooms right now)... one for a girl and one for a boy. Sounds good in theory, but not too practical

I think we'll just go with bright colors. My mom has offered to make all of the bedding, so I guess whatever my imagination can come up with (and the selection at the fabric store) will be our little pumpkin's room.

The baby has been kicking/moving a lot. But today it is really quiet and I'm missing those little jabs and flutters.

Hi all,

So I'm doing well and usually feeling the baby move at least 2 or 3 times a day. Apparently at this point they sleep 18 hours a day so it's no wonder the movement isn't felt more often.

A strange thing happened the other night though - we've been having a heatwave this week and I was cleaning our windows. I sat down and looked at my ankles...yikes - they were swollllleeeennn!!! I was so worried. I saw my dr yesterday and he said that it may be due to a number of factors including the heat, being on my feet and not drinking enough water. I think because of the whole IVF thing I've been cautious and not really exercising alot so that probably added to the problem. He said that I'll likely develop varicose veins when I get older and will be prone to swollen ankles. Lovely! He also recommended elevating my feet as often as possible. I'm not a large girl to begin with - my pre-pregnancy weight was around 130 pounds.

Have anyone else had this happen yet???? I thought it was kind of early - but my dr said it could happen at any time.

Hi Charlie & Richard

I have just googled "mouth ulcers during pregnancy" and found two sites that completely contradict themselves

One say's they are a common problem during pg and the other say's they are less common. So sorry can't help.

If they are really sore, I'd contact GP or mw to see if there is anything you can change in your diet, as you don't need any extra discomfort. I can't wait for the varicose veins, piles and stretch marks!!!!!

Hope you are feeling better soon. Good luck for your scan (it is this Sunday, isn't it?)

I do know that the gums tend to be more sensitive so I would think the rest of the mouth would have it's fair share of problems. I have been to the dentist in the past month and he says that you just have to take extra care. Brush twice a day and floss EVERY day. I started having sensitive gums early on but stayed on the flossing and brushing and I'm good as new.

Hello everyone,

I am back from my holiday and you all seem to be busy, busy people. Are you all starting to display a fabulous bump? There is no mistaking me for anything but pregnany and i love it! I am still not sure of i have felt movement but if i prod my tummy definately have a hard spot that moves around so figure the minnow is active and i am just unsensitive

It is such fun looking at baby things but i am still too nervous to buy anything. I will feel more confident after the scan next week and once we get to 30 weeks and know the abby could go early but still be fine i think i will start going mad.

Exciting to know you are having a boy Charlie and Richard - the name debate is going to start in earnest for you two. We have decided not to find out the sex as i want to keep something a surprise. The whole conception was so clinical that i need to get back a little of the magic.

My sister has the DVD of the Human Body program that was on BBC with Prof. Winston. We wathced the conception and dvelopment part of it - i chickened out on the actual labour bit. I found it amazing but also a tad scary to see everything that is currently going on inside my body and the state our organs end up in!

No wonder we get uncomfortable and exhausted. If you haven't seen it worth seeing if your local video shop has it in to borrow - enlightening.

hiya girls
richard here
hope you are all well

so the the nursey is 90% done paper is up painting is done dado rail is 50% done all curtains, bedding,carpets,rugs,mobiles,cot toys,are bought we were going to get cot on saturday but charlie had a scare

she has been having quite a few pains very low down and when she went to see doctor she was sent str8 to hospital
they said she has a swollen cervix

possibly cos of an infection
so we not gonna buy anything else for a while its all very scarey
we gotta wait for results from hosp to find out why she swollen
fingers crossed all will be ok
as for names we got it after ages and ages of trying we got it
and i will send a £pound YES A WHOLE £POUND
to the first person that can guess wot we gonna call our baby boy

Anyone experienced round ligament pain yet? Ouch!! I had my first experience of it yesterday. Oh my goodness does it hurt... although really it just felt like my ovary was about to burst like it did during the stimulation process. The doc had me come in to do an US just to make sure that's what it was. It was awesome to see the little pumpkin! Haven't seen it since week 13. Everything was measuring just fine... HB was 152. I was supposed to have my anatomical scan next week but since we were there, they did most of it yesterday. The little bambino was tossing and turning every which way and she couldn't get all the pictures she needed so we'll have to do a scan next week too. Oh Darn!

Hope everyone is staying cool as summer is arriving. Continued blessings for all!

Well he is perfect, but i guess we are just biesed, so nothing to worry about, he was sucking his thumb and was just adorable and it is deffinatly a he.
Im actually starting to beleive that there is a life inside of me and he will be born and be our son, oh god it even feels strange writing it ahhhh!
But isant it the most amazing feeling ever, we are so blessed.
Yipeeeeeeeeeee!

So glad that all is well! How cute that you have a little thumb sucker and got to see that. You are right about how amazing it is. Some days it is still hard for me to believe. I sometimes wonder if other pregnant women are as emotional about all of it as those of us who have faced infertility?
