I will thinking of you

Post by samandaw1 »

Rachel,

IF it makes you feel better the doctor told me NOT to take the test because it can give you false readings. I asked again and agoin to every nusre I talke to . I wanted to see if they all said the same thing and they did. The home pregnancy tests are not equipt to test our bodies with all the drugs. Your real results will be at your blood test.

All the same I am sure it is hard and you may feel it gave you an acurate insight on what is to come. I will be hoping and praying it comes out positive.

Good luck,

Sam

Oh Rachel - what a terrible let down for you! You must be serving as the 'reminder' to the rest of us to stay away from the evil  HPT's!

Like you say though, you're still nearly a week until testing, plenty of time for good news to happen yet!

Congrats on a great EC Sam - now just for a great transfer, and a BFP huh!

Lindy - How's the new Crinone regime coming along? As revolting as it is, at least we don't have to give ourselves progesterone jabs like some others!

Susan - how's your daytime TV coming along? I rented DVD's too and had a few jolly good laughs - back to work on Monday for me!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank you all for your kind words of support, we feel better today and realise that it was too soon to test, so we still hold out hope for a BFP!!!!

We should burn HPT's !!!!!!!!!!!

Hope evryone is having a good weekend at least here in London it has cooled down a liitle bit which is nice.

My DH took me out yesterday and instead of watching the tv we went to the cinema!!!!! at least it was air conditioned but sitting in the seat for two hours with the nice bruises i have on my bum from injections was not the best!!!! Been having tummy cramps so i am hoping that is a positive sign rather than my period coming. Have also had a little discharge but not blood. Anyone else had any symptoms??????

Hope to us all

Hope it's not too late to add myself to the list. I'm a 1st time IVF'er and my test date is Aug 4. I'm going insane waiting! This is the longest 2 weeks of my life?

I too am a slave to the HPT. I've already done 2 tests - both negative, as they should be at this time. The only thing this tells me is that the HCG from the trigger shot is out of my system. They truly are evil and addicting

Good luck to you all!!

Hello,

Just popped in to wish you all the best of luck. The 2WW is a killer and those HPT's are even worse, I took 16 in total!

Sue I had all those symptoms so could all be good news! Those progestone shots are awful, I'm now on my third week of them and tonight I've told DH I just can't do them anymore. I can't sleep as my back/bum is too painful and I can't lay on my front as my boobs are way too sore!!! Not moaning though! lol

Best of luck again to you girls, sending you lots of baby dust and wishing loads of BFP for August!

Jo

Hello August Test Mates

Post by gruvybby »

This is my first forum, as well as first IVF attempt & I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer (Jenn,) I'm 33, my hubby is 34, we've been married almost 7 years. and TTC for 3 yrs . Long story short, my right tube is blocked, and my left, well it has many adhesions and looks similar to baby swiss. Where have all those eggs gone I was told I was a good candidate for IVF....so we didn't mess around with anything else. LMP July 3, We retrieved 10 eggs, only 3 survived and only one embryo was grade A and ready for transfer....they say it only takes 1 I am 10 days post retrieval and smack in the middle of my two week wait...... It is at this point that I finally realized that the support and encouraging stories I may find on this site will really help me stay positive and focused......I look forward to being here. Thanks for listening!! Jenn

PS: I test Aug 5th......

Good luck Jen

Post by samandaw1 »

Jen,

I too, am a first timer. I have been reading the boards and had a question last week that put me in a panic. I posted it and received lots of answers and support. Now I am hooked on the support and reading all the stories.

Good luck on August 5th. I wish you luck and will be sending positive thoughts your way. Your doctor is right, it only takes one.

My husband is very scientific (in a cute nerdy way) and he did the probabilities of eggs because my are decreasing every day ( i am getting the implantation on Weds0. No need for four eggs when they are not good. It is like trying naturally and on the fourth month it works because it is a good egg that is able to fertilize.

Anyway, his theory helped me!!! Good eggs are the most important.

Best of luck,

sam

Rachel, I really felt for you after your disappointment last week. I'm pleased to hear you're feeling much better this week. At least you only have a couple of days to wait now. I have my fingers crossed for you and I'll be praying for you!!

Suzanne, the new regime with the Crinone is working a treat, and virtually nothing comes out after. I wish I'd discovered this routine a bit sooner, I wish the Clinc had given better guidance in the first place. You're right I wouldn't want the injections, I know how my stomach felt taking the Gonal F for 16 days. Although the drugs are giving me really sore and swollen breasts, they do look much more impressive to me than my usual tiny breasts. So there is a good side to these drugs.

Jenn, I initially had 9 follicles, resulting with 7 eggs and only 3 fertilised. I was like you really disappointed at the number of fertilised eggs after a much better HC than the first attempt. It is the quality of the eggs and not the number that matters. As you have a Grade A embryo it sounds to me like you have the best chance of a success. I know that I felt much better once the embryoligist said that the grading of my embryo's were good as well. Lots of PMA will help I'm sure. Fingers crossed for you.

Going back to work today felt really odd, as I had lots of people say "did you enjoy your holiday and where did I go?" and I politely say "just a quiet week at home doing things around the house" and for some reason blush

Sending lots of hugs of support to everyone!

To all who are testing in the next few weeks. Also, thank you to Sam & Lindy for your encouraging words. I refuse to buy HPT, as I keep telling myself I am having new symptoms every day of a BFP, I don't want to burst my bubble with a false negative......... :D. You all are pro's at this posting thing, I hope to get the lingo down and can become more involved as the process wears on.......it's all very exciting.

I just found out yesterday I get to take my Beta on Friday the 4th....yippee...one less day of waiting.

Cheers and a week full of wonderful news to all!!

Hi Dory,

Just an update, I will be testing on the 8th with lindy rather than the 7th, but have a feeling we have a BFN heading our way.
