just curious but how many of you are planning on having the CVS or Amnio tests? At this point, I'm saying "no" to them.

I have decided not to have any of that invasive testing done. I really don't think that in my case it is necessary so I am not going to worry about it. I guess it would depend on the doctors thoughs as well but I have no real reason to do any of that. I am scared to death of it causing a m/c as well!!!!

Well guys my doppler is coming tomorrow I just got the email confirmation and I am soooo excited to get it! I can't wait to hear the babies! DH and I are taking our boys up north for the weekend and I am leaving my computer at home...we are going to have an electronic free weekend. I think that might kill me! LOL Anyhow I am really looking forward to it. Good family time together. Well 15 days to go until I am through the 12th week. Not much longer. I am waiting with abaited breath!

Malinka- we got a jeep Patriot, new this year, hopefully it holds up, I commute 100 miles a day.

Jovigal- I was with you until I read a recent post on here about 1st trimester screening about a baby that was born with severe defects had to have mutiple surgeries after birth and mother didn't get to hold until baby passed away. Now I'm very torn, it's really going to depend on the 1st screen and the fold size.

TansRN- enjoy your weekend....I never go further north than Boston, have a great time.

Ladies,

I don't know about all of you, but I am more nervous than I have ever been. I am 13.5 weeks and it seems all I do is cry. I had to go for blood work yesterday for a blood chemistry smac 18 and a glucose test, due to polycystic ovaries. Now I am worried about those results. Is this normal. feel like a freak.

Lisa- i'm with you, very nervous about everything...I also believe the drugs we are all on combined with the regular hormones put our bodies into a tail spin. Keep the faith and vent your worries here, don't keep them inside with the baby.

Hi Ladies – I’m back and hoping to address personals and check on all of your updates. We are doing ok here. Just a quick note about my 1st Trimester Scan – the Ultrasound measurement showed our beanie at 12 weeks although I was supposed to be only 11 weeks along. So I will have to check with my OB on July 9th to find out if they will change my due date. I’m feeling pretty good physically. Mentally just a little down.

Lisa - Many blessings to you for a wonderful pregnancy! You are almost into the Second Trimester which is wonderful! It's totally normal to worry about every test and their results. Know that we are here to support you in whatever way we can.

TansRN - Enjoy your weekend with your family. I grew up in NH and love going there for short trips. After my Dad's funeral and burial (which was in Berlin, NH) we decided to stay in a hotel in North Conway for the weekend. It was actually pretty nice since we didn't have to make the 4hr drive home the same day as the funeral - plus it gave us a change of scenery away from home and everyone we know (just some family time to ourselves) since the whole past few months have been full of visits from family and friends. Sometimes we need a little time to ourselves - it's only natural. So enjoy yourselves wherever you decide to go.

Jovigal - So glad to hear your news! When I was PG with my DD I was 35 and they did not offer the 1st Trimester Ultrasound Screening so we did the alpha-protein blood test with the Level 2 Scan at 18 weeks. Since the results showed the possibility of our DD having birth defects was at least 1 in 15,000 – we decided not to have Amnio. This time we did the 1stt Trimester Ultrasound since we just wanted the info which came out fine. We will have the alpha protein blood test again along with the Level 2 Ultrasound on Aug 2nd. As long as those results look good we won’t have Amnio. If the Maternal Fetal Specialist feels it’s necessary since there are some issues detected then we may change our mind. But the risk of miscarriage is so scary to us given our history. Best wishes to you!

Barbs – Welcome and Best Wishes to you! We’re looking forward to your updates.

Noodle – Hope you are hanging in there! Do you have a date for your 1st Trimester Screening? We’re wishing you wonderful results. Keep us posted!

Wannabeone - Hope you are doing great! So glad the results of your scan are great! We did the same type of testing as you described. Good luck in your second trimester!

Rikerees – How are you honey? I hope you are hanging in there! I have to tell you a little story about one of my friends. She got PG after multiple IVF attempts and had a PG loss since her cervix opened much too early. She got PG again last yr with twins and had to have a reduction done due to her prior medical issues. Plus she had the cerclage done to stitch her cervix closed and she carried to term and went on to have a wonderful baby boy in December. Best of luck with your decision and many blessings for a wonderful PG!

Malinka – Glad your 1st Trimester Screening went well! As for me with a low risk preg – I have no tests again until 18 weeks for the Level 2 Ultrasound. Our DR recommends this for me since I am over 35. Other than that just OB checkups every 4 weeks. My next one is July 9th. Good luck to you!

Steph – Glad your scan went well. I hope you are feeling great! I have my next scan on Aug 2nd. I was supposed to wait until Aug 9th – but I had them change it since we will be on vacation that week. Good for us since we will have the results a little sooner. Best wishes to you!

Well take care ladies! Looking forward to further updates!

noodle, when I called to schedule my appt, I got an answering mashine too, so I guess it their practice to call in 24 hours or so. Though nobody called me back, so I had to call twice.

noodle - When I had the scan it was 11weeks 2 days according to my due date. But our beanie measured 12weeks 2 days so I don't know if that will change my due date or not. I may not know until my Level 2 scan in August when they measure the beanie again. I might know from my OB if my tummy measures ahead of schedule as well. We shall see. Oh and most of the time when I call my OB's office to make an appointment for anything I usually get voicemail. Then it seems like an eternity until they call back. Good luck to you!

Malinka - Thanks for your encouragement! Hope you are doing well!

Hi girls..I'm still hanging in there! I am 12 weeks and 6 days! Had an NT scan last week and everything looks normal..of course they have to correlate that with the blood they took..but I am very optimistic everything is fine! I have another scan August 6th..maybe we will be able to tell what the baby is then!!! I think I saw between the baby's legs a quick second and it looked like a girl..I could be wrong though..you know those ultrasounds are so tricky..you almost never know what the heck you are looking at..I hope everyone is progressing nicely! Have a great 4th of July!! My b-day is on July 7th..I will be 36..wow sometimes I can't believe I am that age.....

Hi everyone:
I had my first apt with the OB on Friday. DH and I were less than impressed, but she came very highly recomended from the RE so I have to trust the RE's choice. I am just about 11 weeks and still not really showing- beside a very hideable pouch. It is kinda bumming me out. I really thought by now the tummy would be out. I know I just need to be patient. Maybe another week or so. I had planned on going maternity clothes shopping today but it makes no sense. Anyone else feeling the same?
Is it wierd that I am nearly through the first trimester and I havent had the scans and Nuchal test you guys are all talking about? Maybe the perinatologist will do when I see her next week.
IVF/ICSI 3/07 Froze All 36 eggs

Hey guys
We had a great trip with the boys this weekend. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing! I also got my doppler just before we left and I was able to hear the babies! I have no clue which one or whatever but who cares I heard the beautiful music to my ears! I love that thing. I recorded it so I could hear it whenever I want to! Lovely! My first appointment with the OB ( the other one was with the nurse) is on July 17th!!! Coming up quick!! I am excited to go and see what they are going to do. And only 13 more days until I am 12 complete weeks!!!! I will be really happy to get past the point of m/c with the last one. It is like a personal milestone ya know???

Rikirees
I am not having those tests either. I don't know what is going on with that. No one really said anything about them. Oh well. I will just keep moving forward.

Happy upcoming birthday! Woo Hoo! The best present ever!

Christine
Glad that you were able to take some time for yourself as well. It is nice to be able to relax after going through a funeral of a parent. It is so needed. I had a good time and it was really relaxing. I didn't have time to "worry"!!!! It was nice. Now I am trying to plan in my head how much $$ I will need to go out and buy the things that I want for the babies. There are some cool things at Target that I want to get and DH and I are going out on a full day shopping excursion soon. It should be fun. He is not nearly as excited as I am!!!! I told him that he has to come along to carry all that big stuff for me-hehehehe.

Talk to you guys soon.
