Suzhan:
Sounds like things are going well, and ER should be tomorrow. Is this correct?

Joyanna:
Congrats on the ++ hpt. When will you be 7 weeks for the u/s?
How cool that you live in Ireland? What are some popular little boy and girl names over there?

I am waiting today for my beta results....every minute feels like an hour...

Hi Kimmy - well, today I go back for my next Ultrasound and blood test and if all goes well, I'll trigger tonight and retrieval will be Thursday....I actually feel pretty good for this far along, but it's probably because I don't have as many follies as I've had in past cycles - so I'm keeping everything crossed that it's quality if not quantity! I had about 4 good follies on each side between 13-15 mm on Sunday, so I guess they think today they should be 'mature' - we'll see. My memory says they like them at 18 mm++ for trigger? Does that sound right.

And, congrats on that first beta - what a great number, KUP on the next result!

Hi all

Kimmysq - great beta number. You must be thrilled. Any symptons?

According to the irish records, the top baby are top 5 boys - Sean, Jack, Conor, Adam, James. Top 5 girls - Sarah, Emma, Katie, Aoife and Sophie. Liam is also a popular irish boys names and for girls - Aisling, Muireann, Niamh

Melo - great to hear from you. I know what you mean about the cafffeine & fitness....the months just creep up on you. It is so hard to get motivated.

Suzhan - all the very best for the er. I know what you mean about the decreased number of folliciles. I had way fewer than when I had my dd back in 2006.

As for me, I am taking hpts every day and getting +ive. My US is not until 27 August. I am hounding the clinic and they said that they will do my beta if I want but that for them the main test is the scan on 27 Aug (7 weeks pregnant). I feel anxious. I am worried that I have a chemical pregnancy. I am using the early testing hpt and they detect such low levels of hcg. Plus I feel pmt-ish. I had a mucus discharge this morning that was slightly brownish - it all just freaks me out! I did 3 hpts yesterday and 2 hpts today. Think I might just go and get the bloods done to try and calm myself down.

Just got my go ahead for the trigger tonight - ER on Thursday. There were still just 7-8 'good' follies, mostly around 18 mm, some a little smaller than that (one a lot smaller?) Anyway, I hope this is okay. The uterine lining was 11.5 - RE said it was fine. My E2 was 2773 today. So....I guess that's all okay, not exactly sure because I just don't remember where I've been on all these number before (other than that I had more follies before). Anyway, just hoping to get some good quality eggs/embies on Thursday.

Hi ladies,
just had my u/s today at 6w2d pg. The doctor was able to visualize the sac, but no h/b. He wants to see how my beta #s are today, and see me in one week. I am freaking out! How do they expect us to wait another week! I feel like telling the doctor listen, I'll gladly show up every morning for the next week...how's that? That works much better for me. Or even every other day. My doctor is also very vague. I read all of your posts and it talks about visualizing the yolk and tadpole in the sac. My doc is more in and out about it.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. So happy to hear that you are all doing so well. That is wonderful. Hope you all have a great week!

Back from ER and a long sleep - I was surprised to find out they got 10 eggs.....they didn't say what the quality was, but in all my scans leading up to ER, they only saw 3-4 good follies on each side, so I was expecting more like 6-8, so 10 was a big surprise, but as we all know, it's quality not quantity, so I'm keeping everything crossed that these are good ones.

Unfortunately, the quality of DH's sample was not too great. He had just had a test about a month before and it was fine, but the count was too low this time so they converted us immediately to ICSI just in case. So, hope that's okay too, we'll see.

Suzhan - great to hear that you are through the er with 10 eggs. That was very good. I hope that you are ok after er...not too sore/bloated etc. good luck with fertilisation.

Alreadyblessed - at my clinic, they do the scan for the heartbreak after 7 weeks, before then, they do not expect a heartbeat? keep in touch and I will say a prayer for you that all goes ok with your next scan. This is nerve wrecking isn't it.........I am going around like a bit of a zombie at the moment.

HI JOYANNA
Did you ever go for your HCG bloodwork, or have you decided to just wait for the u/s? Thanks for the info. I am trying desperately to just hang on until Monday. It feels like an eternity!!!

Got my fertilization report....of 10 eggs, 8 were mature and all were 'icsi'ed' and 5 have been confirmed fertilized. So, now we wait to decide whether to do a 3 day or 5 day transfer....we'll know more in a couple of days. If we only have 3-4 good looking embies on day 3, they said they'll do the transfer then with up to 4 embies, but if 4-5 all look good, they'll probably wait to see which are 'best' and transfer two-three blasts....

Oh, the waiting!

The embryologist called again yesterday, they think we're going to do a 3 day transfer after all. With only 5 embies, they feel the best shot is to transfer 3-4 of the best right away and not wait to culture them further. Their philosophy is to do a blast transfer when there's a good chance of many good embies, but this time they figure it might not be worth it. The final decision is tomorrow a.m., but at this point, that's the plan, so I'm going for acu at 8:30 (luckily, right down the hall from my RE), then the transfer's tentatively scheduled at 10 a.m., then my acu actually comes down and does the post-transfer acu treatment right there in the transfer room. I really am praying this works!
