Congratulations! I’m so happy to hear that baby Anna arrived healthy. I suppose she wanted you to keep your anniversary to yourselves.

How much did she weigh? We had the same worries with regaining Darby’s birth weight and also jaundice. Both are fine now. I understand that the weight drop is normal, but they were concerned since she was so small.

Now that everything is okay, I can laugh about the pre-eclampsia. All in all, it is pretty amazing we’ve all gotten this far. I feel like my body didn’t want to be pregnant, but we forced it so its no wonder it rebelled a little. I went into the hospital at 35w 2d and she was born at 35w 5d, Officially, they call her “late preterm.” She should catch up in size in the first couple of years.

Love to Olivia and Sofia.

Hope the rest of you October Moms are doing well. Many of you are probably enjoying your new babies by now. We’ve all gone through so much and now the real adventure is beginning. My baby never wants to be put down so we’re enjoying lots of bonding time, however tiring.

Hi Siouxsie,
Anna weighed 2770 grams, which is about 6 pounds at birth, then dropped 7% of her weight. As of today when the midwife weighed her, she was 2900 grams and is expected to reach or top 3000 when she's weighed again on Tuesday. She was born at 37+1 and was considered full term. My doctor had predicted a bigger baby, and all of her clothes are still swimming on her...but I know that will change! She's already changed so much in the 15 days we've known her. It is amazing to see her become more alert, be awake more and getting stronger every day and exercising her vocal cords as needed! :D The midwife says all are good vitality signs. Today she even had her first bath. That was great, she was so totally relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next one.
I think you are absolutely right about the body rebelling at the end -- My doctor was surprised I lasted as long as I did.

Wishing you all the best with Darby. Enjoy this time together, I know we are.

Hugs to you, Barb and to your lovely daughters, Olivia and Sofia!

To all the October moms, hope your babies all arrived safe and sound and that everyone is doing well.
