My doctor called me back - false alarm! He says it's fine that my hormone levels are so low - I can do the 5 days of Provera to bring on my period. Great! I scheduled my HSG for Sept 27 at 730am (hopefully CD 14ish, which is late in the cycle for a HSG, but since I won't be ovulating/getting pregnant on the BCP and that is the only appt they have available, I'll take it!).

Leora-thank God it was a false alarm. I am so glad that things continue to move right along. I will be doing the AF dance a's soo. As you start the Prvera.

Tamera- Happy to hear that you found a clinic that you feel confident about it my friend! What an insane thing that PGD was considered illegal in your country! …well, I live in the south part of the island and here’s a little history about my country…In 1974 Turkey invaded my country and as a result a great part of the North part of Cyprus is still occupied by Turks. I was newborn only 40 days old when the war started… In that occupied part of the island is my parent’s house and property and everything they owned back then. Turks live in it right now without of course the owners, my parent’s will. So, after 30 years, in 2004 the Cyprus government and the negotiating person on the other side gave permission to open the borders so that both sides can go back and forth. Only my side has to sign (meaning that we recognize them as a “state/country” and show I.D and pay a fee to be able to pass the boarder. People from the other side just pass with no problem. I went a couple of times with my family and friends to see the place we were born and my parents grew up…but it doesn’t feel good. It’s heart breaking … u should visit the place I was born it’s called “Lapithos” or Lapta in Turkish. Is in Kyrenia a beautiful place you will love!!...i would love to meet you on the south side of the island….sorry about the rumbling but this issue is a hot one for us!... I wish you all the luck in the world my friend!!! Keep us posted on how everything goes.

Fvrogers- Thank you so much for your kind words my friend! ..I am sorry you have to be away from your DH. It sucks. Hang in there! …about fresh and frozen cycles , well I believe is pure luck in that! I have done both and I never got a BFP. 6 fresh cycles and 1 with frozen and no luck so far. If it’s going to happen it’s going to happen! And I believe it’s going to happen for you this time hun!


Jenmink- Good to hear from you my friend! Your BFP is waiting for you at the end of this cycle! ..I am doing the AF dance for you!

LYD- hi there! As I told and to Fvrogers, its really a luck thing I believe with the fresh and the frozen transfers. I really believe though that many women respond better in a FET than in a fresh transfer b/c the uterus is more relaxed and ready to receive its new residence…

Leorira- keep the good news coming honey! This will be IT for you! I just know that!

AFM- DH left this morning and I miss him already …I cleaned the house like a good housewife today, its spotless now! …or should I say I am more like a Desperate Housewife! I was about to get into the shower and I thought of posting first instead…my BF Maggie is coming over tonight to hang out with me …I got a call from a head hunter agency and they want to see me Friday at noon to talk a bit about my qualifications and work experience prior to recommend me to companies. We shall see!...I am thinking of visiting some friends tomorrow in a another town next to the beach for the day, Depends on my mood…

thanks Jen and Leora for your comments on fresh vs. frozen. the never ending puzzle, right

i think you are right, Jen - i think i am going to wait to do a frozen transfer. i just would feel so bad if it didnt work out after fresh transfer and i would be kicking myself big time. The fresh cycles just have not been good to me.
i am trying to find out what protocol i'll be using this time. i used antagonist the first IVFand it is so much quicker than the regular lupron protocol that i've asked to see if i can use it again. then the wait will be that much shorter.

we had a great weekend with the in-laws. they are so good with our DS. we went site seeing around san diego a bit. went on a boat ride. it was tons of fun! so it was realy hard to say goodbuy to them and come back to work now. yuk, yuk, yuk. but at least the work is not super busy - i am hoping to go work out at lunch.

Hi ladies! I am new around here - I hope you guys don't mind if I join in. For a little bit about us - I am 27 and DH is 35 and we have unexplained infertility. We live in Israel but both of us grew up in North America. After trying on our own for a year with BBT charting and OPKs, we began IUIs during summer 2010. Our 2nd IUI (a Clomid cycle) resulted in a pregnancy but unfortunately, there was no heartbeat at our 2nd ultrasound (just shy of 8 weeks) and I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage. We did another Clomid IUI and then 3 additional IUIs with FSH injectables (Puregon) but unfortunately, we had no luck with those and after 6 IUIs, we moved on to our first IVF cycle.

Our first IVF cycle went reasonably well and we transferred 2 good quality day 3 embryos, but that cycle ended in a BFN. We did a FET with 3 good quality day 3 embryos (though all 3 lost cells in the thawing process) and that cycle ended in a BFN as well. We did a final FET but only one embryo survived thawing and it was more fragmented than any of our previous embryos. There was also confusion in the lab about the embryo because the embryo in the straw was different from the one recorded in the fertilization report. This left us with a pretty bad taste in our mouths. That cycle also ended in a BFN.

We are now gearing up for another fresh IVF cycle. We won't be able to start until late October due to the upcoming holidays in Israel, but we are switching to a new clinic and I am excited to cycle somewhere new - I hope that we will finally have a change in luck. We are hoping to attempt a day 5 transfer this time around. I look forward to getting to know you all! Best of luck to everyone currently cycling!

Struggled sleeping last night...Found myself praying to God that maybe He could help me accept that I may not ever have children...Then I started crying softly so I wouldn't wake dh and decided to pray for God to help us open a door in finding a way for us to start a family. I flipped over and found myself curled up next to dh listening to his heartbeat and it was so comforting.

I wish we had answers for unexplained infertility but also know there are so many out there who have been through so much more and with their determination finally brought home a baby. That determination comes from a heart full of desire and I know someday we too will be moms IF we can stay strong and determined. We sacrifice so much to make this happen but in the end it will be worth it!

Hon, I am do sorry you are feeling down. Please try to stay positive. I have a realy good feeling about this cycle for you. Just look at all the BFP's that have occurred to others on these boards and try to pull sme strength and hope from there. It always helps me a bit. Praying also helps me. I will continue to pray for you and all on this board, I promise.

Quick update,
I spoke to my RE today. He is now definantely somewhat concerned about the continuous bloody discharge or spotting I have had for about a month since my last AF. He is afraid that I may still have some "product of conception" left over that is causing the continuous bleeding. Although he did say that he thought that is this was that case that it is probably very minimal because there is no pregnancy hormone (Hcg) being produced as evidenced by my most recent zero Beta. He said that he feels confident and hopeful that with this next AF that everything left over from the MC will be expelled. However he was quite clear that if after this next AF and once I start on the Estrogen patches that if the bleeding continues he will recomended to hold off on the FET and to do a D&C. Urg... I can't imagine waiting even longer for the FET but I completely understand where he is coming from. If my body has not been able to get rid of everything it needs to after the MC then my endometrium would not be in any condition for a transfer much less implantation of my embies. Ahhh, I hate this IVF rollercoaster. If it's not one thing it another. I know he is right and I have to trust what he says. Like he said, he is hopeful that with this next AF everything will be cleared out but we will just have to wait and see. He said that one way or another we should probably know for sure by the end of next week since I should start the Estrogen Patches on Monday night. So many unknowns! All I have left is to trust in God, believe that what is best is what will happen, and have faith that everything will be ok.
