Hi Emma
I was thinking about you yesterday and wondered if you'd started your jabs. How was it?
Looks like we can go through this together which is great. We must keep each other updated on this thread.
Good luck with your downregging.
Hugs

Hi Emma,
I thought of you too, got a big bag of needles and drugs was shown how to do and that is it really, horrid headache today not sure if that's just the weather we are having or it is from the drugs, i was thinking i may be a bit early to have side effects. So what drugs are you doing and have you got to inject yourself too. Hubby was with me but he's abit scared of needles so i put on a brave face and got on with it. Good luck with your jabs Emma xx

Thanks for all the kind words. I bought a batch of 10 homes tests of Ebay the other day, they were so cheap it was rude not too! I tested this morning - I know a week too soon and surprise surprise it was negative! lol going to give them to my friend to look after and only give me one back next Thursday!

gbnut, I'm near Stansted Airport. We are using the ACU in Gray's Inn Road. How about you?

Hope you are all having a good day. I did some retail therapy and it seems to have worked, feeling good today :D

Hi Emma
I've got to take Primolut tabs one in morning and one in evening from today until Monday (5 days). Start Buserelin jabs tomorrow, once a day. Bummer they can't give us the sniffy type as the clinic get the needles free from drug reps and the sniffers costs a lot more than the injectable drugs! Am injecting myself (hubby looked a little unsure when we had our lesson which made me nervous so I just did it!). Haven't been told about the stim drugs yet but all I know is they will tell me after scan & bloods on 20th when to start but don't know what drugs it'll be, provided results are satisfactory of course!
Have no idea how they decide which drugs to give which people, have you?

I stay in grays and am going to ARGC in london. I had my 1st lot on nhs at Barts but now moved and was recommended ARGC due to its success rate. But it is very costly and very tiring. I will start my uppers today and from now on i have to attend the clinic everyday fo a blood test to monitor the amount of drugs i need to take.

Hi Girls

How are things with you all.

I have not posted for a while as have been signed off work and so no access to internet. Am in a cafe just now.

Anyhoo, i have had my EC yesterday and got 5 eggs - was really chuffed with this as thought might not even get one or two. More follies came up on the monday after my initial scan after stimming (was only 3 at that point). ET is tomorrow so fingers crossed. A few of you were saying that it was brave and stuff having no general ana - i never got offered it! Believe me, i would have taken it if i had! However, the drugs i did get, a sedative type thing, were great and can't remember a thing about it!

Wendy - where you at with things. Hope you are doing well.

How's everyone else getting along? Sending thoughts to you all and wishes that you all get the babies you want and deserve.

Take Care

Don't know why we choose the ACU, think it was they were the only ones who replied to my questions via email beforehand! I am insulin dependant diabetic and I needed to know if they would treat me.

The travelling is very tiresome. When we first went we didn't realise there would be so many trips to the hospital. With the trains and parking it puts another £300 at least on top of everything else! Don't think our clinic is particularly cheap. The cost of IVF seems ok but then it's the tests and drugs which almost double it!

Good luck with it all

Cat, well done on your 5! and all the best for tomorrow, fingers crossed.
Apparently at our clinic they don't offer general either but sedate you for EC. Have to say not looking forward to that bit as have no idea what to expect. Still, haven't got to think about that yet as its a way off, only just started downregging!
Good luck!

Hi Emma,

I would recommending asking them how they will sedate you. My clinic says they sedate you for EC but their definition of sedation is a general. I didn't know till they came to take me to theatre! Must say it was nice waking up and it was all over!

Well done Cat and fingers crossed.

Hi Girls,my clinic came before i went to theatre for ER,and gave me an injection of anti biotics and sedative in my hand ,went an hour before i was scheduled in theatre and got a vallium to calm me too, when i went into the theatre,i was offered a top up of a sedative,i needed it first time as it was so sore, but secong time i was fine, and to be honest it is painful, but for some reason once your outta theatre and have had a sleep, you seem to just forget everything, clinic said this was type of sedative they use....And ive always said i woulg go through any pain just to get a BFP..I read somewhere that if your embryos survive the thawing process in a FET,they must be quite strong embies,so im hanging on to that thought,to be honest i see this FET as a stepping stone to next full IVF,and im not sure why,cos my clinic has given me a high success rate,i want to go into this with a positive attitude but with 2 disappointments behind me its so hard...Patiently waiting on AF,which i thought woulda been here by now..Hugs and baby dust to everyone...Nicola..xxxx

Hi Pebbles
I asked them at the clinic as that was the thing I was most anxious about :? They said they don't do a general but will sedate me and that I will be aware of what is going on at the time and that it would be uncomfortable but that afterwards I wouldn't remember anything about it. :? If its anything like the sedatives I've had in the past I just felt half asleep, which is fine by me! YIkes, its scary!
Thanks for your advice

on my last cycle i had pethadine to sedate me and i went to sleep and did not remember a thing about it. once i was awake i could remember the est of the day, but you are advised to be watched for 34 hours and not to sign anything as some people have no memery of the whole day!!!!

Hello

Jemima – Of course you can stay 6th Aug not that far. On the subject of ICSI or IVF like doc said if you using donor sperm I would not have thought you needed ICSI as donor sperm is tested and should be of very good quality you may need ICSI if it has been frozen. I have ICSI as my dh sperm has been frozen for 9 years. If you have IVF the strongest sperm fertilize egg rather than being selected by a human in a lab.

Michelle – sorry to read your sad news best wishes to you and dh at this difficult time.

Emma – Glad AF has arrived. Good luck for 20th.

Rachel – Glad you made it and the toe is not too bad, hope AF arrives soon.

Suzannes – Glad to hear the cyst not effected you starting stimms hope it goes Ok for Monday. I had cyst and got to EC the docs don’t seem to worry as everyone gets them and they just come and go.

PebblesUK – welcome the 2ww is so hard like you say the symptoms for both pregnancy and AF are the same. Good Luck.

Jordan22 – fantastic news good luck for Saturday.

Rileydee- Good luck for Friday I sure everything will bwe fine PMA PMA.

Jasper1madi – I spotted for 4 days just before testing on 1st ISCI cycle and got BFP. Good Luck for Friday.

Catnip – well done good luck with ET tomorrow.

Lots and Lots of baby dust to you all
