Happy Wednesday Girls....

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We actually went away for the Holiday Weekend. However.... Welcome M'BA & Angellica. Congrats on your beautiful BFP's.... please keep us posted on everything.

Vicky- Great #'s... I'm sure your so excited about your scan tomorrow. Please keep us all posted as soon as you can. In regards to the PIO Shots (thank god I'm finally done). I used to get lumps that would stick around for awhile... they only thing I can recommend is using warm water before and after to help. Good luck!

Angellica- In regards to your pains in your upper stomach... I had some really bad pains thia past weekend that almost sent me to the hospital. However, it ended up being just gas. Try taking some Tums and see if that helps. Keep us posted!

M'BA- I was released from my clinic after my first ultrasound which was at 6 weeks. I then had my first appointment w/ my OB at 8 weeks. Also in regards to PIO Shots... I had to be on my shots until I was 10 weeks pregnant and my Crinone until 12 weeks. Thankfully I'm now done with both. Good Luck!

Cowlgirl- Good luck today at your apointment. Please update us as soon as you can.

Nance- Good luck today as well... please keep us informed when you can.

As for me I have my 12 week exam tonight. I'm not sure what my OB will be doing, but I'm hoping for a another ultrasound just to see my little beanie in there again. I'll keep you all posted (tomorrow).

Hope you all have a great day!

Tasha

HELLO LADIES!

Sorry I've been MIA for too long. Between the holidays, exhaustion and 24 hour sickness...I don't have much time to read/write.

I must have gotten the memo to have an appointment on the 29th! I had my 8 1/2 week scan today. The twins are looking good. They're each about 2 cm. AND, we got to hear their heartbeats! Wild!

Welcome to the club Vicki, Angelica, and M'BA! This group is great for advice or just a good ear. M'BA--sorry to hear about your ickiness...I've had it for a few weeks now. I've become very good friends with Carbs. They're the only thing that really seem to help me.

Vicki--I had the PIO bumps too. I actually got taken off of them today. Yeah! But, the suppositories stink even more, I think....to messy! As for appointments, my doc is extremely proactive, so I had my first scan at 5 weeks, and I get a scan each week until 12...then he'll release me to my OB. That sounds longer than most other girls.

Cowgirl and Nance, how did your appts. go? I hope all's well. I haven't had any spotting, but I do hear that it happens even to the most healthiest of pregnancies. I'm praying for ya.

Rachel--congrats on making it to 12 weeks! Yeah!

As for you gals who are feeling huge, I can vouch for that. I think the stims put on most of my weight....but now that i'm eating mostly carbs...that can't be helping much! I've been out shopping for some "slightly bigger" pants and tops...not maternity yet ( I feel like I might jinx myself!)...not having much luck. I hope in a few weeks to go on a spree!

Col--I'm exhausted like you are. As for Christmas presents, I've decided on the Gift Card route this year. Should make it simpler, right?

So, how many of you gals ended up telling your fams over turkey day? I hope it went well! We told just our family, and they were over the moon (esp when we told them it was twins!). We're still waiting to tell friends and coworkers....want to get a little farther along first!

Good luck to all you gals who have appts this week. I'm thinking of you!

Kim

Girls, I am kind of scared today, I don't know if it is because I am having my first scan, but I woke up feeling as if my boobs were a little less sore, so now I am scared to death that something could have happened....
Did you have fluctuations in how you feel your boobs??, is that normal???

Vicky it is normal for symptoms to come and go, and you boobs have probably finished stretching till the end, but it does come and go for me as well. I hope you scan goes great today!

Buckyegal, welcome back! I am so glad your babies are doing so well. :-) I am sure with twins you will get great attention as you should! :-)

Nancy and Thook how did you appts go?

Mine went very well, no scan but the doc really put my mind at ease about the spotting. At this appt. they did the GYN stuff and she said as soon as she touched my cervix it started bleeding. She told me the baby has been so strong since the beginning and if I don't bleed like enough to soak a pad not to worry at all. It really did make me feel better. It was very reassuring to hear the strong HB. They did schedule me for two US. One dating for OB and the Nutriual or how ever it is spelled. Someone should call to schedule today :-)

Take care everyone, I have to get back to work.

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a nice evening.

Cowgirl - Congratulations on your OB appointment. I am so glad it went well. When do you go back?

Elliecat - Welcome and congratulations on your BFP and your great scan.

Vicky - I would try not to worry too much. My boobs hurt more sometimes and sometimes they hardly hurt at all. I think that is normal. Good luck at your scan let us know how you do.

buckeye - I am sorry you have been feeling so lousey but so happy that your scan went well. You must be thrilled.

Crasmus - I am sorry that you are suffering with headaches. Did your Dr say you can take some tylenol? Just try to lie down in a dark room with a cold compress on your head that might help. And don't worry about the holiday shopping. Just take care of yourself as best you can.

As for me my appointment went well last night. The baby is measuring exactly 9 w 1d which is what I am and he/she has a strong heartbeat. I do not go back now for 4 weeks. Oye, that wait is going to kill me but I definately feel much better about the outcome now. I have a question for all you ladies over 35. My Dr. last night gave me the info. on the amnio vs cv? test vs. the ultrasound/bloodtest. I'm not sure what we should do. While I would like to know to be prepared I do not think that I would terminate the pregnancy at that point and would never forgive myself if something I did caused a misscarriage. But on the otherhand, if there is something seriously wrong (God forbid) I would never want my child to suffer in any way. Do you mind me asking if any of you have opted for an amnio? Thank you for your input.

All my best,
Nance

Nance, I will be 38 when the baby is born, so this is what I have decided to do. I am going to the nuckal(sp) scan and blood work hopefully next week, waiting for the call to schudule it. And depending on how that comes out will decide on the amnio. That is my game plan. I am curious to see how other people respond.

Take care,
Cowgirl

Nance and Cowgirlclass,

I have also been giving the information for these tests. This was not because of my age which is on ly 28, but because of my high FSH (indicator for lowered egg quality blah blah blah) and because I have been pregnant 8 times before with only 2 live births. My husband and I decided to do the Nuchal exam and bloodwork, but we are stopping with that. Regardless of the outcome, I refuse to risk lossing this child we wanted. With all the money time and effort wwe have put into having this baby, we do not feel it is right to risk the chance of misscarriage. Even if the baby has something wrong with it, we will not abort it and certainly will not dispose of it. My husband is catholic and a firm believer in the right to live and that God gives you what he (or she in my opinion) thinks you can handle. We will love this child regardless. Trust me on this one, we already have a son with learning disabilities and an anxiety disorder. Somedays are really hard while others are a blessing. Every child has something to offer. Those were our decisions, but most of you are working on your first child(ren) so it may be different for you. However, being a scout leader, I have worked with several boys that have autism and minor retardation and their love and excitement is so much more rewarding then the others. They love unconditionally and when they learn something new it is like watching the lighting of a christmas tree for the first time. I am very close with my little scouts that have these disabilities and they still come and visit me even though they are no longer with our pack. It is almost like having a special friend that will always remain innocent. Disabilities are just a social stigma. Many of these children are so very special and make their own mark on those who know them. Just a thought, you all have every right to choose what you want and what you think you can handle. That is whay there are these choices.

Good Luck!

Racheal, I totally agree with you! I am curious though if that is how you feel, why the nuchal tests? I ask this because I ask the same thing to myself. I don't think I could terminate reguardless of the odds, so why do it? I think maybe it is one additonal chance to see my baby and if it come back with minimal risk it will it will be one less thing to worry about since I seem to worry about everything concerning this baby :-)

When is your nuchal test scheduled for?

Take care,
Cowgirl

Cowgirlclass,

My nuchal is scheduled for Dec. 14th. I am doing this test because it does not carry any risk to the baby and can give us an idea of what might be in store for us. That is the only reason. We had even discussed not doing the exam, but in some ways it is nice to have some idea before we get to the end. Plus, I am told their is a chance they might be able to tell what the sex is. It depends on how good the us tech is and how new the us equipment is, but it is still a chance!

Hello ladies!

Ellie, thanks for your support, regarding how I calculate the due date, I was using my last menstrual period date as first day of pregnancy (that is how it is normally done), but my nurses now are telling me that since we did IVF they use different measurments, like ER and ET dates, so per my calculation I am 5w4d, per the clinic calculations I am 5w5d, which is almost the same, what are you using to calculate your due date??

Kim congrats on your twins!!!!!. Are the suppositories as bad as the PIO shots??, anyway they will keep me on the PIO shots......

Nance, congrats on your appt!!!, glad everything is going perfect!!, about the wait, I understand, it is terrible, I think that if it was for me I would do a scan every day, LOL  . Regarding the amnio, I am 29 so I won't do it, but I have a lot of friends who did. I don't know, I am one of those that think that it all depends on what you are going to do with the answer, I think the same as you, there is a chance of m/c, so maybe I would do what Cowgirl said, do the nuchal and the bw and depending on the chances they give you there of something not being right then decide about the amnio....hope it helps...

Regarding my scan, everything was ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Image, so we are thrilled, of course I could only see the sac and the yolk sac too, they said everything was they way it should be according to the age!!. There is only one embie though, we were kind of thinking it might be two, so that was a little bit sad........but we are very happy anyway of course!!!!!, we have to go back in 10 days for another scan......

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!
