Welcome Dawn!! We can all relate to needing someone who understands what is going on in your life!! This is the place. I am very sorry for your loss. I hope this is the cycle for you.
I think you are also not supposed to eat Nitrates and that is a curing agent for bacon and deli meats. I found Nitrate-free bacon at Trader Joes so that would be ok to eat. I plan on doing pinneapple also, trader joe's has amazing frozen sweet pinneapple. I don't work for IKEA or TJs
Mia - I took baseline u/s and estradiol on Monday, got another Estradiol this morning. My nurse called and said to up the Menopur back to 150 but keep Follistim at 300, no u/s today, just on Monday estradiol and u/s. I am a little confused, should they have done an u/s already? I am supposed to get one almost every day after Monday and do ER on 1/19. How many days after starting stimms do you start the constant u/s?

Ok, so I just did my 2nd Lupron shot and I didn't ice it long enough today because I lost track of time and didn't do it right on time like I planned. The needle went in and it hurt a little, but there was a some blood! Is that normal? I mean I know I'm poking my stomach with a needle, but it's so thin and I didn't read anything about bleeding.
Anyone have this?
It still hurts a little now...

Sugabeanz:
Sounds like we have the same situation - I haven't started my stim meds yet, but I guess based on my blood tests they said I have over 30 eggs. Which is good, but they said there's a chance of OHSS. What's the difference between follicles and eggs?? (Sorry for the stupid question! )
You said you're at a higher risk for gestational diabetes - is this because of your PCOS? I have borderline PCOS and my accupuncturist said that that's pre-diabetic and I would also be at a higher risk for gestatinal diabetes. I haven't done any research on this, but my doc hasn't said anything to me about this - the risks, how to control it, etc. Maybe it's because they haven't actually determined that I have PCOS b/c my tests are borderline. Any suggestions for diet, etc? My accup said to cut out complex carbs...I'm trying!

21bat: I never had blood, where are you injecting yourself? The injection site usually hurts for about 30 minutes (like a little stinging, nothing major. I find that when I ice it there is a red mark where I injected myself. WHen I don't I can't even tell the next day where I stuck myself. Are you putting the needle in at an angle?
21bat: follicles are what hold the eggs. The docs look to see that they are growing b/c when they grow, the amount of eggs is growing! (no stupid questions here )
Rio: I go in when my period starts and then starts the c onstant u/s. But it sounds like I am on a very different protocol than you, so it probably won't help to compare!
I got home just in time from my meeting to shoot myself 4 down and x left to go! I can't wait for 1/14 when I can stop the bcp and wait for AF!!
Did you guys decide if you're going to do the progesterone shots or suppositories? I am leaning towards the suppositories b/c i dont want the pain of the shots, but they suppositories are 3times a day and my nurse said you need to lie down 30mins (or at least sit with your legs raised up) - that's hard to do with work...
Are the progesterone shots really painful?? Sugabeanz - you said you had suppositories last time...how was that? Katie: hope your cramps are going away!! That sucks
riogirl - thanks a lot for the info - thats so helpful! I am reading a great book called The Complete Organic Pregnancy - i think it talks abot this stuff too - i haven't read very much of it yet. I'll keep you guys updated on what I find out. **also - to answer your question about constant u/s...according to my calendar: my stims start 1/19 and u/s are 1/22, and 1/24-1/27

thanks for your response - i dont know what happened this time. i am thinking maybe I didn't put the needle in fast enough? i think the angle was ok.the pain went away now, and yesterday the shot went perfectly - not sure what happened today. none of the medicine leaked out or anything, so i am pretty sure i put it in far enough...hmmm....i'm going to do some reading online abot this now...i'm nervous

21bat: I am sure it is fine - don't worry. I put mine in pretty slow (I don't like the stabbing action) so I think that is ok too. I would love to hear if that book is any good. I will be investing in some pregnancy books soon Positive thoughts***
waitingformia: i bought "what to expect when you're expecting" a few months ago i know it was early, but i'm a slow reader, so i though i'd give myself a head start
it talks about ivf and other stuff before you're pregnant. you can order it now

21: I sometimes bleed a little after my shots, and also I get little round bruises in some spots (little polka dots all over my tummy by the end!), but my RE says its normal, and it happens because I am taking the baby asprin. Not sure if you are taking baby asprin. I had the exact same questions and concerns last time so I can relate to how you are feeling!
I had my baseline u/s and bloodwork on Wednesday 1/9, and I go back in on Saturday for my monitoring u/s and bloodwork and will go every morning from then on until trigger!
I hope all of you had a great week, and are able to relax and/or have a little fun this weekend!
21bat: I also did the progesterone shots last cycle. I think the anticipation was worse than that actual shot! I think you get used to it too, and by then you are already giving yourself like 3 shots a day in the tummy! What I did to help is I would lay down on an ice pack for about 15-20 minutes before the shot, and then when my DH would give it to me, I would bend over slightly and rest my arms on the back of a chair and put all my weight on the leg that I was not getting the shot on. Then I would massage the area for a good 5 minutes or so afterwards and try to go for a walk or move around for a little while. I still had some soreness, but it wasn't intollerable! I will have to do them again this time too!
21bat: I am kinda wierd about buying pregnancy books or any baby stuff. Not that I am superstitious, but after 8 years of TTC I am a bit cautious. Sounds like a contradiction with my overly positive ideas of diaperless babying, and babys wrap dreaming, but yeah that's me The second I get my bfp you can bet I will be at half.com ordering used pg books .
Just three more days and I will be off the bcp!! I really didn't have any side effects from them, but it is annoying to take them. I never took them before b/c my dh and I never used protection. So it is kinda like we've been TTC for 10 years, but the first two we just didn't think about it.
BTW I ran into a great site last night www.americanpregnancy.org. Click on pregnancy wellness on the right and then look under the nutrition section. Lots of good info on the effects of cleaning solutions, paint, herbal teas... and lists of stuff to eat to get the right vitamins
21 - mine always bleeds just a tiny bit, I guess it varies from person to person, don't stress!
Question: I quit my bcp last week, AF showed up on time on Saturday - BUT IT WON'T GO AWAY, usually mine lasts 5 days, this is the 7th day and still going full force - I am really nervous and upset. Anyone heard of this happening? Of course with all the meds messing with my head I am starting to panic that this IVF won't work.
