Welcome Ndgo82 and bear. I personally don't think that the shots are all that bad especially after you get past the first week or so. I have struggled more with the emotional stuff but this has been a great place to help with that.

Bella - congrats on the eggs. You will feel better soon. Not to scare you but I was sore and tired for over a week. I was telling DH last night that I was surprised at how long it has taken me to bounce back. Everyone is different but you will feel better soon. Definately stick with the gatorade. I didn't know about that until 4 days after ER and I believe it has made a huge difference.

AdsGirl - Congrats on your decision. I felt the exact same way. I knew in my heart that I wanted 2 put back in. Which worked out anyway because that is all I had left and because of my age my doc said no more than 2.

So here is my update! Called the nurse and she said the spotting is normal and it doesn't mean anything. At this point there is nothing to do about it because it is too early. I was told to go home and rest again today and over the weekend and go in Monday instead of Tuesday for beta. I still was pretty upset and went home to sleep a little. A little while ago I received a call from my sister who works for my RE. She saw him in the hall and asked him what he thought. He also said it was normal and to go home and rest.

So I am back home resting. The good news I have not had anymore spotting after this morning. I just need to watch it over the weekend and if it get worse than spotting they want me to go in.

Thanks for your support.

Hey,

Someone on another message awhile back told me to check this message out. But I have posted on this message a couple of times but no response to any questions. So I will try again hoping that someone any help me out. I started my gonal - f shots today and I' m using the pen which I have never used before ( always felt better using the vial) My question is --- How do you know that the meds came out of the pen? with the vial and needle I knew how much I withdraw and saw it go in but the pen I didn
t and just wanted to make sure I did it right? Any help will ease my mind.

Thanks
Brenda

Hi all,

thanks for all the wonderful comments and letting me how you all have felt so i don't freak out so much :) My DH appreciates it too! haha  Well, my office called this morning at 6:30 and said not to come in today for day three transfer 5 embies are doing wonderfully so we are waiting until day 5 Monday :) that was good news! As for how I am feeling, I talked to the nurse today and basically she said if i don't have any ohss symptoms not to worry...I told her i don't have shortness of breath, but when i take a deep breath it really really hurts below my chest above my belly button. She said my body has been through a lot and just give it soe time to heal...so more bedrest and gatorade for me :) i am going crazy! I will say I slept sitting up last night and that helped a bit with the pain.

Brenda3 - I used the follistim pen and our nurse told us to "prime" the pen if we weren't sure if the medicine was flowing or not. You pull one click then push the button back in...you should see a bead of medicine at the top of your needle. When you see this you should feel confident that the meds are flowing through. So, dial your dosage and inject, once the pen gets down to 0 again, the medicine has been injected. you can also open the pen up and see how the medicine has moved in the cartridge :) hope that helps. good luck!

Jude - I don't have any spotting anymore, mine actually stopped the first day home (wednesday) but i have heard it is completely normal to spot for a little while. it is just dry stuff making its way out. I hope you feel better soon as well....my pain moves all over the place as well, it is so strange I guess I was just expecting something completely diffferent :) Good luck with your transfer tomorrow! Let us know how it goes :)

Tara - thanks for letting me know that it took you a little while to feel better...i was expecting llike you to to bounce right back so I completely understand. I am happy that you stopped spotting as well !Good luck on Monday for your beta i bet you are soooo excited!!! Let us know

ndgo - good luck with your shots....I can't believe that I made it through a month of shots! I was just telling my dh i never thought it would end and here we are are. It wasn't that bad once you got into a groove :) My dh gave them all to me thank goodness cause I hate needles. hang in there and let us know how it goes.

turtle - thanks for the kind words :) hopefully i will feel better soon ....how are you?

adsgirl - my lab has definitley been great with reports, I can't beleive they haven't updated you. how did transfer go? i hope it was nice and smooth and easy for you! Let us know....Mine has been pushed to monday and yes it is going ot drive me nuts! only good news is maybe i will feel a little better :)

kate, sonu, jcurly - how are you ladies doing?

take care to all I missed ! good luck to everyone in whatever stage they are in! it has been wonderful to have you ladies here!

Brenda

I did Follistum pen and when the nurse was showing me how to use it she said that the dial would not turn if the medicine ran out or wasn't going in.

You are probably fine. Good Luck

brenda3 - I used Gonal-f pen. You prime the pen at the 37.5 mark. you pull out and push back in until you see a drop. then dial to your dosage. When you pull the pen out you will hear a bunch of clicks. When you push the dose in you count the clicks to make sure you got all of your dose. 75 is two clicks, so 150 would be 4 clicks etc. Good luck!!

Brenda - if it is the same as the Follistim pen, I just press it down till it won't go anymore. It is designed only to dispense the amount that it is pre-set for so if you prime it and press it until it stops, you should be good to go. I know taking all these drugs is overwhelming. You have to worry about taking them correctly with the right amount and injecting in the right place. Just another thing for us to have to worry about.

ngdo - It is so great when you get to start the shots. The shots suck but we are then officially on our way in the cycle and it feels like we are one step closer to our goal of being PG.

Jude and Bella - Good Luck on ET, sending you lot of sticky vibes.

bear - i am not on the same regime, I do lupron to down reg, Follistim for stimming then Ovidrel for trigger. While stimming both DH and I take Doxycycline and then after ET I take a steroid. I think that is all my drugs. Oh and PIO.

Adsgirl - Did you transfer yet? I would agree with you on only transferring two with your age. My Re will transfer 3 on a 3dt seeing that I am over 35. If we do a 5 day transfer they will only do 2. Which is fine with me, I have seen so many people posting with twins lately I would be really scared to be transferring more then 2. I think I can handle twins but not triplets or more.

To all the 2ww ladies, who has POAS? Who is going to POAS? I know I would have to do it at least once which would be the day before Beta. I would want to be a little prepared for any bad news. This time I think I might also POAS right after trigger just so I can see if those test really do come with 2 lines.

I am still just hanging out, taking my Lupron shots. I really wonder why my RE didn't up my dosage. I am taking 10U and have been taking that since June 5th. I can see where they wouldn't want to up me to 20U since last time I was oversupressed but why not bump me to 15u. All the questions that you think of when you arn't on the phone with the RE's office. I go back in for more u/w and b/w on Wednesday, after that we will see where we are at. I don't know how long they will keep me on Lupron before they cancel my cycle. O'well, I am not going to worry about it rignt now.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Bella123, that's great news you are going to a five day transfer, Grow embies Grow!!!

My transfer went really well today, out of the 4 embies we had yesterday, one had stopped dividing, and one was still a 5 cell, but the other 2 were excellent at 6 and 8 cells. We had a last minute decision to make, and decided to put all 3 back in - so officially PUPO now!!!! :D

No frosties, which was a little sad, but glad the three are all back with their mum!

PUPO!!!

So I have been laying around all day...finally DH brought home his laptop from work so I could give you all an update! ET went really really well today. We had six "excellent, high-grade" blasts! We transferred two and will have at least four frosties. Two of our 12 embies had arrested, 2 or 3 that were left looked like they might also make it to blast tomorrow...if so, they will freeze those ones, too! It is SOOOO wierd being PUPO.

DH is taking great care of me and not letting me do anything myself...I'll take it while I can get it! The ET was really emotional for me. When the embryologist told us about how well our embies were doing, I almost started to cry...then during the ET, every time I glanced at my DH, I started to tear up...we locked eyes for a few seconds and both started to cry. I tried to keep it in check though, cause I didn't want to get all worked up and squeeze my embies out!!!! lol

My ovaries still feel huge (a lot of pressure when my bladder starts getting full), but otherwise I'm feeling good. I'm eating lots of pineapple (supposed to help with implantation?? Who knows if it's true...but I'm doing it anyway!) and still drinking gatorade. Am I in the clear yet for OHSS?

Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. Sorry for no personals...will try to catch up tomorrow...back to resting!!

Hi Brenda- sorry when you posted before no one got back to you - we are a friendly bunch and it was not intentional :D

On the pen side there is a scal of how many mills - if you look at that before you dose and after you will see it has gone down - I was on 450 of Gonal F - so was quite easy - if still not sure check with your doc to show you - I liked the pens as thought much easier

Good luck with your cycle :D xx

Tomorrow is my beta, I am terrified!!!!! I will only be 9dp3dt which worries me it is too soon. Anyway no POAS for me, I promised DH. My OHSS seems to be under control although yesterday was my last steroid pill so I guess we will see. It took 2 days after my last steriods for it to come on full force.

Adsgirl: I went into full blown OHSS 3 days after transfer, not to scare you. Awsome news about those embies, stick little ones!

Jude: 3 hopefully that is the magic number!

to have fun: hang in there. I too wanted to POAS after trigger so I can say I have actually turned a stick positive, even if it was fake!

Bella: how are you? before ET they told me not to worry about OHSS too because they thought things looked and seemed ok. I too was sleeping in a recliner till that did not work anymore. I finally could not take in deep breaths. Please stay on top of your symptoms and go in if they get worse. My really got bad 3 days after ET.

Our list is so out dated when is everyones beta?

Love, Luck and Baby Dust!
