rio- yes, we have male factor...pretty much everything...count, motility, morphology, & re speculates possibly dna fragmentation...woohoo!!! re gave us a pamphlet for a male fertility supplement from COAST REPRODUCTIVE (http://www.coastreproductive.com or http://www.coastscience.com) i think i will be ordering some. dh currently is taking a boatload of vitamins daily...coenzyme q10, vitamins b-complex, c, e, a, lycopene, selenium, folic acid, zinc, acetyl-l carnitine. my dh's #s are the following:
-concentration= 0.2
-volume= 2.2
-motilty= 20
-morphology= 10

your dh's #s increased greatly! that's awesome! i'd love to hear what brand/name he is using.

lauren1171- yay we'll be buddies! i go in to meet w/ the re on october 11th & based on getting af on september 1st, i should get af around the 29th (i'm ususally every 28/29 days) & again around the 28th of october, so we'd like to start then. although, as i'm typing this, i realized i should probably call them before we go in to meet w/ the re & let them know that's the plan, just in case there are any reasons i wouldn't be able to (1 time we almost had to change when we'd be cycling b/c the office was getting remodeled & painted & they couldn't do er's & et's for several days, so that affected when people could start their cycles). knowing my luck something like that would happen this time. i'll just call to be on the safe side.

katie- i'm doing pretty good. how are you? i can't believe you'll be meeting your little girl soon!

amanda1979- i'm glad you & dh decided. it feels good to at least have a plan! going w/ a donor is such a hard decision to make...my dh is struggling w/ that b/c it's what our re is suggesting & so are people in our family, but dh says it's not something he thinks he can ever do. it hurts me, i won't lie, but i love my husband & we will get through this together. i have to respect his view & decision, as difficult as it is. i'm glad your dh is behind you no matter what road you choose. good luck w/ everything & just like you'll be checking in on us, i'll be watching your journey.

Tiger - How are you doing? Been thinking of you since you were going for your beta yesterday!

Teresa - Hopefully you're feeling well after your ET yesterday! I moved you to the PUPO section so just let us know how the ET went and when your beta will be.

Lou - We can start stims as early as 2 months after my surgery which would be 10/16. So with my next AF (hopefully arriving in the next week) I'll schedule the saline u/s & trial transfer and they mentioned starting BCPs too. DH & I are doing our infectious disease b/w this coming week and we have our IVF class on 9/20. So getting a little closer each day! And can I just say your DH is such a sweetie...so romantic!!!

Moorebaby - When do you get to bring Roscoe home?

I'm up at my parent's house in upstate NY visiting with my family. My son should be out later today to visit with his DD and my DD spent the night out here last night. She's 16 weeks along in her pregnancy, so not too much longer until I meet my 2nd grandbaby. So I'm enjoying time with everyone and just chillin out at the farm. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi All,
My follies are growing nicely. I have 2-17s, 1-16 and 1-13 and 1-8, but they don't think the 8 will go anywhere. Whooo-Hooo!!I'm sooo happy!!! Hopefully they will get eggs inside. They'll call later with my hormone levels and what to do next. The nurse seemed confident that things are progressing well.

Ester- So happy you're bringing Roscoe (Winston) home soon! Jazmin will be happy to have the playmate. I think pups keep the old timers young and playful. Thanks for the wishes. I trying so hard to stay positive but the first cycle failure is always in the back of my mind. I also know genetically my embies could have problems. Oh, how I I wish I was 10 years younger! Enjoy your pups!!

Klinger- Congrats Grandmaa (2 a's for 2 grandbabies)!! Have a great time at your folks house.

Lou- Thanks so much for the info. I'll still do ER even if there is only 4. They said alot of people cancel with such a low number. How'd you do at the track? Did you win enough to pay for the baby's college?

chili yay for good growing follies! remember it only takes one! i only get a few follies and usually only one egg at retrival so i really have to believe that!! you should be triggering soon i would assume! how are you feeling?

tammy how are you doing? what are you doing for zach's birthday party? i cant imagine having to plan a party during the 2ww, but i guess life has to go on right?? thinking of you! xoxo

klinger are you still in ny? a few more weeks and its gonna be beautiful around there. i think there is a big festival going on around sharon springs called the "chill fest". there are a bunch of good bands playing there. it might be next weekend though. one of my friends bands in playing there and i am sad i cant go to support her...damn baby makin stuff and all! i hope you are having a great visit with your family. do they have animals on the farm?? oh and thanks for always updating the list...you are doing a great job!! xoxo

ester did you bring the puppy home yet?? DH and i were at the mall yesterday and walked into the pet store, and there were 2 austrilian cattle dog puppies...thats what piper is, dingo mixed with cattle dog..and they were sooooooo cute. i asked to play with them and spent a good 45 minutes getting puppy love...thankfully i am anti pet store, and i dont just have $1100.00 extra dollars hanging around or else i would've been walking in my house with a new puppy!! it was so funny because i was wearing a skirt, and the puppies kept trying to bite at the bottom of it, and when i got home piper was ALL over me...sniffing like crazy...he usually doesnt even look up when we come home anymore (mostly because he is losing his hearing ) but man..he wouldnt leave me alone...following me everywhere....like he knew i was cheating on him!! haha

lou how are you hun? DH is very sweet!! what a nice surprise for your anniversary...and the card made my tear up a lil!! you are both very lucky to have each other!! how's lupron?? hope you are having a good weekend!! have fun at the races! i grew up spending my summers in saratoga, ny at the race track with my uncle and my grandpa. kind of a weird place to hang out as a kid, but i loved it..i love the horses, and the parties! i worked there every summer from high school till i moved out of town after college! hope you win big!! i always bet on the pretty ones, and i like pink, and green 5!

lauren a few more days and you'll be starting stims!! woooohoooo! how are you doing on the lupron? obviously i like rosh hashanah better then yom kippur, and i usually dont end up fasting the whole day..i like to sneak home during morning and evening services, and have a snack haha. DH is way better then i am...he never caves in. we usually go to DH's gandmothers house down in atlanta for high holidays, but of course IVF is keeping me from ever doing anything. so its just us this year...not sure what we will do for break fast, but hopefully i'll be on bedrest so i'll make DH do all the cooking! (hahaha he does all the cooking everyday so i dont know why i'm using bedrest as an excuse why i'm not helping!!)

AFM I TRIGGER TONIGHT!!!! wooooohoooooo!!! i'm excited, but i'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. this cycle is looking really good for me. at this morning's scan i had 10 good size follies ranging from 15mm-21mm, and then about 3 others that were in the 12 and 13 sizes. i forgot to ask about my E2 level today because i was too excited to be triggering, but yesterday it was 1258, and that was when they were all 13-16mm in sizes. i am actually in shock by this number...do you want to know what my E2 level was at my last ER?? 400!! i'm serious! freaking 400! and that was good...thats when i got 2 eggs!! the time before that my E2 at trigger day was 220..i got one egg! no wonder i never want to know my levels right?? when you are used to hearing bad news its too hard to keep hearing it over and over time and time again, but hearing that my levels are in the thousands where they should be is just so exciting to me.
so anyway i have to trigger tonight at 1AM!! really?? and i have my ER tuesday at 1pm!!
i am soooo excited for my shot free day tomorrow!! this is day 12 of stims for me, and its the longest ive ever gone...it was getting really hard to find a spot to poke myself!

Thank you everyone for all of the encouragement. I am certain I couldn’t be going through this without all of you!

Unfortunately, it’s another BFN for me this month. Ugh. I must say, I was glad that I took the HPT the morning before. I just wasn’t surprised at all when I received the phone call. It was my favorite nurse, Beth, the one who has been so sweet to me through everything. I know she wanted to make the call to me, so that meant a lot. So, I think I am going to take October off and take my family girls weekend to Disney World! My niece is 10 and we are all dying to take her to Harry Potter! I also have a work trip coming up to Montreal and so DH is going to meet me there and we are going to stay the weekend….will be Oct. 7th! So, this way, I’ll be able to have a fun October and get back to the gym and work off some of these pounds this month!

So, we went to wicked on Friday night and DH loved it! He actually admitted that musicals ARE better than plays! This is a huge step! I’m hoping I can now convince him to go to Jersey Boys…I’ve been wanting to see that forever! Last night we hosted a 17 person 30th birthday party for a very good friend and it went amazing! Everyone had a super great time! The birthday girl hasn’t been home in 2 years, her husband is in the army and she was in Germany for 2 years and then he was deployed to Afghanistan and then just got stationed back in NY at west point. So, it was a big deal to meet her 6 month old and see her 3 year old! Well, it was so fun to be around her 6 month old. He is precious and LOVED me. I was able to put him to bed and my friend called me the baby whisperer! I had a moment alone in the dark when I was putting him asleep and I couldn’t help but start crying because I want this so bad. It was amazing holding him in my arms and just being part of a childs life. Hopefully the 5th time will be the charm…ugh.

Sorry for the novel, just needed a little time to vent to my girls.

Chili – yeah for that extra follie! Maybe that will be the perfect one!

Annashope-You are not intrusive at all! Yes, that’s exactly what DH and I have talked about. Since I’m taking this month off, we are going to look for a new donor. I’ve also heard stories that someone has used one donor and it’s just not good chemistry! They’ve switched up donors and tada! A BFP. We really like the donor we have now, so I’m hopeful that we can find another one that we are comfortable with.

Ryann- I am in shock. I really can’t believe it! But, at least they are not letting you go through with it and spend all that money if it’s not perfect. I agree with the ladies, Fet can go well, especially for how many follies they retrieved, I’m sure you’re still a bit sore. Hopefully a blessing in the end. Your twins are still waiting for you!

Wondercat- I would absolutely have DH call them again. Continue calling. I do a bit of hiring and I always like when people are respectfully insistent.

Lou- seriously….I am tearing up right now! See, you just have the most wonderful husband! What a thoughtful and wonderful card and gift! Wow! I’m so glad that you had just the best day ever! October is going to be here soon! Love you lots!

Riogirl- I totally get it. It’s good to vent. Yes, that’s right, a cyst is a left over follicle. Happens a lot. I’ve had at least 1 cyst left over on every IUI cycle I’ve done. Some times that can cause your cycle to be delayed because when we take the drugs it can cause them to burst..and we don’t want that. I was delayed in May with my first IUI, but because I respond well to the femera or clomid at the time, they reduced me to 25 units, which is a super low dose, so they didn’t cancel me because they werent’ concerned it would burst. However, It took 2 months for my cyst to go away the first time when my cycle was delayed. I think if I would have gone back after one month it would have been fine. Now, at the base ultrasound, they’ll find a cyst and say 13D, the “D” means that the cyst is there but they can tell that it is dissolving. This usually means they won’t cancel you, so maybe ask about that. I don’t know about the days stimming, I think it’s probably better to go 10-12 days because it follows your regular cycle more. I stimmed in 6 days…but who knows! I think it all depends on how you respond to the meds and everyone is different. Franny changed up her meds and stimmed for a while and had her best cycle ever. I think it totally depends on each person.

Tiger sorry for the BFN but I totally understand doing the HPT's I always do because I need to know and be prepared. As per trying a different donor- my mom was the only person who knew and after Phil and I chose the perfect donor completely resembling my DH and same interests and all but it failed and my mom brought up the idea that maybe the chemistry is wrong and we need a new donor- IDK we just proceeded to IVF because our RE convinced us that IVF was just that much better. Anyways yay for taking October to recharge I think we all need that sometimes.

Nancy YAY for starting!! I am a bit jealous I can't wait to get started too

AFM Still just waiting for AF maybe another 2 weeks at most so fingers crossed. I am trying to do a lot of meditating and setting up a positive mind set since as you all know sometimes it gets tough. Seriously I cannot wait to get started. On a more personal note I have to admit that I stopped my education when we started this journey 3 years ago and last night DH and I talked and I guess there is no perfect time to have a baby and so I am continuing on into my PHD. The decision came so easy I wondered why I waited to long but I guess I was worried that if I got pregnant it would be tough to do both PHD and babies but now the delay in both areas is making me crazy and I have to move forward with this and I am so excited

anna- i'm so happy for you w/ continuing your education & pursuing a phd! good for you! i too have been thinking of doing something similar. i have a masters & would like to get my 6th year in education...my school district would pay for some of it & it would also move me up on the salary schedule. you're right, there's never a good time, so i should just go for it! i hope af gets here soon, so you can get started!

lauren & tiger- we have a local teen theatre group & they always put on musicals. the last 1 i saw was called "urinetown"...it was hysterical. i also liked billy joel's "moving out." i'm going to see "girls night: the musical" in february w/ my sil & some friends...it looks cute!

tiger- i'm so sorry about the bfn. please take the time that you need to re-energize...sounds like you already have some plans for that. that was nice of you & dh to host that party...truly great friends! putting that 6 month old to sleep must have been so emotional! i'm glad you still have you pma about finding another good donor. love ya!
