Hello Everyone,

First off Holly, please do NOT feel bad...you are not alone. I use to get 2 boxes of HPT's a month (they had 3 tests in them)! I would test before AF was due, the day of...if I was late...I'd buy one more just incase the 2nd box had all defects. I would love to say I was finally cured, but I'm not. I start my IUI this month and this morning I went to my doctor's office for my first scan and to get my meds. He gave me a urine ov kit and it only contained 6 test...so of course on my way to work I stopped at the pharm to get my meds and I picked up 2 boxes of clear blue ov tests. I now have 20...lol just incase..which really means I'm going crazy and wasting a lot of money. I thought I'd try IUI because I'm not sure if I will need IVF and the cost is so pricey, but with the amount of money I'm spending on tests and internet so called "cure infertility" drugs, I could probably sponsor all IVF treatments for a small state. So the moral to my story is....when you feel bad about getting the test, remember there is always someone like me out there doing a whole lot worse.. And LASTLY, your just practicing spending for the baby, because GOD knows we are all going to spoil our children rotten when they arrive!

I hope everyone else is doing well. I go into the doctors on 10/12 for my blood test and then start on my strips for the surge! Hopefully I will be on the dreaded 2ww soon with an absolutely wonderful BFP after that!!

Holly, I am sure we have all done the same as you, I know i have I try not to now, this time i was 1 week late, i just knew we werent preg and sure as hell, I was right!!!!

I mean we have been ttc 4 yrs, I am sure it wont happen natural, or else we would be with child by now.

How often do u check the surge?? 1 , 2 , 3 times a day??

My first IUI i did it once a day, but 2nd IUI i did it when i woke at about 11:30 and at 5pm ish.....
Do you think thats enough??? But honestly if you take 1 week before surge happens then u can get thro ov. p k's quickly if u surge on first day of testing you have wasted money on extra sticks but i know what ya mean!!!

How much r they in the USA??

Hey Nicki,

I'm going in on the 12th for blood test! They are checking my levels to see when I'm am most likely to ovulate.

I usually test twice a day, for this IUI, I'm definitely going to test twice and day. I starting thinking about the fact that there is only a 24hr window of opp for getting preg...so I'm gonna test my little heart out until I get that surge! The test are about $10 here...I usually get coupons, so I get them for about $8.

I have a question...should I be having a scan done before the IUI. Well let me explain...if I am understanding it right, I will be having a scan done, right before the IUI. But I think I should be having it done before that so my doctor can get the measurements of my follies. I know this may sound strange, but I'm a little worried about questioning him, because he is a really good doctor! I just feel like he is not taking all the steps necessary to get me preggers. This is an out of pocket expense for me, so I would rather have the scan done and get it right!

Can someone give me some advice on this please

Baby soft the way i have had iui is that i have scan on day 10, they tell me the follies are what ever size and then decide on a 2nd scan, on my 1st iui i had 2 scans on day 10 and day 12 but on 2nd iui i had 1 scan on day 10 as the follies were so big they were about the pop, so i go in next when the LH surge happens that day i get + on the the surge i go in for th sperm to be inserted in the womb.

I would say that if i was u i would say some thing to the doctor,
when is your scan what cycle day? ask him what size the follies are and make sure u have a
+ on the LH surge.
