Kim- welcome back... sorry to hear your not feeling so well. Hopefully it gets better! However, congrats on your scan yesterday, how exciting.

Vicky- don't worry so much about your boobs... mine change almost daily. Sometimes they hurt and sometimes I don't feel a thing. It's probably all your hormones messing around with you. Good luck at your scan today! Please update us when you can.

Ellie- welcome and congrats on your BFP. How exciting...

Cowgirl- great news about your appointment. I'm sure that put your mind at ease a little bit!

Colleen- sorry to hear your having such bad headaches. I'm having them too... I take Tylenol and it doesn't seem to help at all. Hopefully they will get better for both of us.

Nance- glad to hear that your appointment went well last night. I too was asked about doing the amnio last night. I have to give my doctor our final decision by our next appointment, which is in 4 weeks. I think we're going to do the blood test to see if I'm at risk and stop there. We have decided we'd like to know if I'm at risk, but that doesn't mean we're going to abort or give the baby away. I believe that God gives you everything you have for a reason... and doing this test will hopefully prepare us for what might come. I hope the decision is as easy for you as it was for us... Good Luck!

Well as for me our appointment went great last night. However, I was a little scared at first when the burse was using the Doppler and trying to find the heartbeat (she couldn't find it). However, the doctor then came in, pushed in my tummy a little and felt the baby. He then put the Doppler right on that spot and we could hear my pulse, the baby's pulse & the baby's heartbeat. It was very strong.... which is so exciting. Then something funny happened while he was listening. All of a sudden we heard this loud thump on the machine... it was the baby kicking. How precious is that! My next appointment is in 4 weeks (Dec. 26th).... I'll be 16 weeks then!

Well hope you girls all have a great day! I'm getting ready for this snow we're supposed to get ( 6-10 inches).

Tasha

hi all....glad that everyones appointment went well... mine is tomorrow, but we are getting a huge snow storm, so i do not know if i'll get canceled, that would stink... this wait has been long enough.. so i hope that i'll be able to have my appointment..

tasha- i've now heard that we are getting close to 12-15 inches..... it's susposed to be a huge record breaker... the schools are already saying that they are closing.. i love the snow, and my boys are so excited!! but i really want my appointment tomorrow!! Good luck in your drives tomorrow... take it safe, or play hookie. i take two regular tylenol and it does nothing.... i did find that cold (i use a can of beer) on my head and temples help a little... with my last pregnancies the headaches got better at 14-15 weeks... so i'm holding out!!!

vicky- congrats on the scan, looks good and only 10 days to wait (just think that it's less then the 2WW... good luck and take care.. as for the boobs... i've only had a few times were they actually were sore, other then those not much different...

cowgirl- glad that your appointment went well... good to hear the heartbeat.... did you get your us scheduled yet... hope that it's soon... i thought that the nuchal test needed to be done by week 12 or 13.4... that's rather soon... are you feeling better?? hope that the sickness has gone!! take care

nance- glad that you appointment went well.. good strong baby wow 4 weeks what a long long wait!!!! hope that the time flies.. as for the amnio or nuchal test... do what its best for you... if you would not even think of ending the pregnancy, i would skip the amino... but the nuchal, there is not risk, and you can put your mind at ease or prepare yourself for things ahead... we have opted not to do either of the test.... there is no way in this would i would end the pregnancy, and i worry TOO much, the bloods have a few false postitives, and i know that the worry woruld be worse then anything... we'll have our scan at 18-19 weeks and it will give us an idea of the health and sometimes special needs then..

Ellie- congrats on the BFP

kim- congrats on the twins... hope that you are doing well... glad that you can share the joy with your family... we told parents and my bother and sisters... my dh's mom (he's an only child) has proceded to tell so many people... we are getting congrats and stuff from 2nd and 3rd cousins... we were waiting untill after the 12 weeks to completely share the news, but i guess the cats out of the bag now!!

well, sorry if i missed anyone... this post seems so long!!!
take care everyone!!! :D :D :D

okay they called and squeezed me in for tomorrow at 8am for my nuchal scan, but she did not mention drinking water ahead of time. Does anyone know? I researched online but haven't found an answer. I get the answering machine when I call the clinic.

Any answers?

Cowgirl, I don't have the answer, but if you have doubts I would drink water, worst case scenario you will have to pee it later....LOL
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Rachel, hope you can make it to your appt tomorrow, but be careful with the car and the snow!!!!!

Well,

I see everyone is doing well. I am a wreck! I am exhausted and I have my final and two papers due by Sunday night! Add to that I have not been able to think about anything other that my appointment tomorrow! Oh yes, tonight is the last day of the month and I have to close the books at my job!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I am in for a long night.

For some strang reason, I have been worrying about my appointment tomorrow. I do have any signs to be concerned with, but I am still not calm like I usually am. I wonder if the baby is doing okay, are the injections I am giving myself working, will my RE release me this time, will I have to keep taking the progestrone? Just endless questions. Also, is anyone else having trouble sleeping?? I have always slept like a rock when I was pregnant and yet I wake up every two-three hours to use the bathroom and then I can't fall asleep for over an hour! I am dragging and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight! I am starting to think this baby is definitely a girl because my previous pregnancies with the boys were filled with the bleeding problems, but nothing else. No morning sickness, no real discomfort, no trouble sleeping and no weird cravings (right now I am wanting a Dominican traditional dish call Sancocho which I do not normally like)! When I think like that I worry about all the changes that will have to take place in the house. The boys runn around half naked almost every night (well, not the big one so much since he is starting to get old enough to know better) and add to that less camping and outdoorsy stuff. Oh well, no use worrying myself some more!

Sorry for the venting, I am just tired i guess. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi gals!

I think I've finally figured out the 'ticker' thing...I've been wanting to add that to my posts!

Cowgirl: Congrats on your most recent check up. As for your cervix, has the doc mentioned a cerclage (sp?). My doc mentioned that I might have to have one later...to keep the bambinos where they're supposed to be. Didn't know about your situation. Good luck on your Nuchal. I hope all goes well.

Nance--Great news for you too! That must make you feel better. I'm glad you asked about the nuchal test. I'm 31, but my doc still thinks its a good idea. However, I'm not sure how I feel....I could never end the pregnancy, but at the same time, it might help to be prepared. On the other hand, it might cause unnecessary worry. Good luck with whatever you decide. Please keep us posted.

Vicky--I actually didn't mind the shots. The suppositories are a little messy once they disolve (pantiliner usually handles it), but they do irritate my girlie regions. I can't wait to stop them.

Ellie--Welcome! I love your name--that's already on my list of girl possibilities! (My grandma was Eleanor....I like the short version!) :D

Tasha--How AWESOME to hear the baby kick! It was hard to hear our heartbeats too because the babies were moving quite a bit. It can be unnerving, huh?

Colleen--I know what you mean about the cat getting out of the bag. I think a lot of people at work "just know"...I want to keep it a secret, but I think I'm going to have to announce soon....just to stop the whispering. Be careful in all that snow. I hope you can make it to your appointment! [By the way, as a teacher, I am SOOOO jealous of a snow day! We don't get many where I live...]

Racheal--Sorry to hear about your rough nights. I'm getting up 2-3 times a night as well. Luckily I seem to be able to get back to sleep fairly well. Of course, my dog is really confused as to why I'm not getting up to play with him! 8)

As for all you other lovely ladies, good luck with the boobs, the shots, the ultrasounds...Happy Thoughts! Good vibes!

I really need to shorten my postings....

Vicky - lets hear details about your scan. Sorry if you posted elsewhere and I missed it.

My nuchal scan was really neat. :-) I got a picture of the baby sucking his/her thumb. The wall looked thin, but that doesn't really mean a lot, it depends on the hormone levels as well. They did say the baby is measuring big. They had me at 12w2d. I really need to be careful how much wait I gain and to get plenty of exercise, if I have any hopes of having a smooth delivery. :-)

Well I should have results back in 3 to 7 businss days.

Take care all,
Cowgirl

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your responses regarding my question on the Nuchal scan/amnio. You all make such great points. I am so torn on the whole issue but for now I made the appointment for 12/14 and I can cancel before then if I want. My husband would like to do the amnio and if we do then I might just skip the scan and go strait to the amnio. I really am uncomfortable with the cvs scan this early on. But the Nuchal scan also worries me because of the high percentage of false positives. I think it would just make me worry unnecesarily. I hate decisions!

Cowgirl - I am so happy your scan went ok. You must be thrilled.

M'BA - Good luck today let us know how it goes.

Vicky - I completely understand. I wish that I was also at the 12 week mark but it will be here before you know it. I just keep praying that everything will be ok.

Kim - I hope you are doing well. How are you feeling?

Rachel - Good luck at your appointment today. You poor thing. You must be so overwhelmed. Good luck on your papers I am sure you will do great. I am also having a very hard time sleeping. My mind is racing so much with everything that it can't calm down at night and I find that when I get up I have a hard time going back to sleep also. Don't ever appologize for venting that is what we are here for.

I am sorry if I missed anyone but all my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

All,

I am finally back from my appointment. Everything went great and my RE has released me. We had another scan of the little kicker and s/he is very active. S/He was waving his/her arms and kicking it's feeet through the whole u/s. It was so very cool and I cried like a little baby. It is like I have never been through this before! The baby is measuring on day bigger than it should be, but I am not surprised. Both my boys were big (7lbs 13oz, and 8lbs 12oz) so I am afraid this one will be a big on too. Otherwise everything looked good, there were no sign of my usual blood clots or bleeding and I am now finished with the progestrone tablets!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!! So now we wait until the Dec 14th for my nuchal testing and glucose testing. That will not be a fun exam! Hope all is well, I need to get back to work or they will fire me for sure!

I just noticed you are in Florida! What parts? I am a Florida native and I desperately miss it. We went back to our property in Ocala during the summer, but once a year is never enough. I hope your weather is great cause ours is freezing!

All,

Many of you are familiar with Jeck (Jessica) from the October thread. She is now in the Thoughts and Prayers thread and posted some very good news for her. They finally got the results from her bloodwork and found out she has MTHFR and Factor V Lienden. This means they can treat her in hopes of preventing another m/c. Add to that news the fact tat she is very close to becoming a mum! She is well into the adoption process and is working on getting a little one from Guatemala! She seems to be doing really well and maybe you might want to stop by and wish her well!
