Lou - is it reflux maybe? if not - can you have her daycare provider spend more time outside with her? the fresh air and oxygen tends to make babies hungry!

LYD -- Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, we're in Chicago where it is only 10 degrees outside and day care doesn't take them out when it's below 40 or above 90. I'm not sure it's reflux. She seems happy and isn't spitting up or anything.

Hi Ladies! I have been MIA for weeks now. Life sure has been crazy at my house. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays with your beautiful babies. Congratulations to all of the new mama's too! The boys are growing like crazy, we go next week for their 9 month check ups. I don't know where the time has gone. When we went last month for their Synagis Will was 18 pounds and Wyatt was 16.10 pounds. Can't wait to see how much they've grown next week. Our 9 yo had his tonsils out yesterday so it's kind of like having triplets right now, lol. Both boys hemangiomas are improving. Wyatt is on medication and underwent surgery for a large one on his back that was ulcerated and would not heal. He is so much happier now and is no longer in pain :D The boys both need helmets for 3-4 months to reshape their heads. Will's is flat in the back and Wyatt needs help on the side. We're hoping insurance will cover them as they are $4200 each, yikes!! Here's a picture from today of our happy boys, we are having so much fun with them. I hope you are all doing well. I will try to keep in touch a little more often now that everything is calming down. Take care!

Hi ladies so sorry that I get on so rarely.

Gina your boys are so handsome!!! What a couple of cuties I just could not get enough of that pic...what a great picture.

Blair so good hearing from you and yea the babies are growing up so fast. I can't believe Paul is almost 6 months old already. Its so impressive that Emory already rolls over...she is gonna be crawling before you know it :)

Ryan sounds like the twins are doing really well and they have gotten so big! What is a synergy shot? what are they for?

Lou...Paul has been a picky eater since birth. Every day with him has been a struggle as far as getting 24 oz eaten. There have been days where I have offered him food every 2-2.5 hours and that way he gets the necessary amount. Since he is always a good size the doc told me not to worry about it but most days he only eats about 21-23 oz and is currently 18lb at 5 1/2 months so I guess the baby appetite varies just like ours. Paul is almost entirely breastfed and I am supplementing a little with Goodstart Gentle and since the formula never gave him any gas or bowl issues I did not ever want to change it. I would suggest if Chloe is gaining weight well not to worry. We have a scale so I check up on Paul's weight gain that way.

Blissful congrats :D

AFM enjoyed our first snowstorm and took Paul out to play in the snow for a few mins. He had a stomach flu last week and it was so hard to watch him be sick but thankfully he is better now. He said his first dada and mama but for now most of his words are in baby talk.....he always says "ga" for bad and loo when he wants to be held and stuff like that alhtough he is trying to learn speaking ...I think :) He is still only rolling over 1 way and has to be supported when he sits but on the other hand he jumps so much in the bouncer that its hard to believe he has that much energy.

Ryann- those pics are adorable! I can't believe your little ones are already 6 months! They are getting so big.

Anna- what a great pic of you all in the snow with Paul. He's quite a handsome little guy.

Bliss- how's life at home with Evelyn? Hopefully things are still going well.

Gina- your boys are getting so big. Even though it stinks to wea a helmet, my cousin had one and he too looked adorable in it. As long as it fixes the issues I'm sure its worth all that money, but hopefully insurance will help pay.

Afm- so far even though technically I'm still on maternity leave, my official last day on the payroll is Jan 23! I'm a little nervous about the finances, but know it would be a challenge even if I was working and we were paying 400+/wk in daycare. I'm thrilled to be able to stay home with them even though I do believe its a much more difficult job. They are worth every second! They are smiling more and more which sometimes brings me to tears for no reason...sad I know. I am pretty proud of myself- DH was on overnight call last night and even though they haven't been going to sleep recently, I managed to get both girls asleep in their bassinett before 11p!

Quick question for breastfeeding moms- my girls are 12 wks now and I'm trying to figure out how long they should be feeding. Sometimes they will go for 40 minutes but here lately they pass out after 15-20. I try waking them up but they are just zonked out. How long do your babies normally feed? I also recently stopped using the nipple shields which I had to use at the beginning in order to get them latched on, so I'm wondering if they are getting more now. Thoughts?

Blair, I think it is normal behavior. My sons had issues too. I figure Denver will eat when he's hungry at this age. However, you can undress them before feeding. That helps keep them awake. Also, continue to stimulate them while they are feeding. That also keeps them awake.

Blair- Evie feeds anywhere from 15 minutes (on my faster flowing left side) to 40 minutes (when she is clearly just pacifying). There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. My lactation consultant did say that anything over 15 to 20 minutes on one side is probably just pacifier time. But she also mentioned not to stop that time because its a signal to the body to make more and a great natural way to sooth baby. My pedi did say that as she gets more interested in the world around her she will feed much more efficiently and for a much shorter period of time, maybe even less than 10 minutes. Given where you are in gestational development that sounds about right to me!

Plus if you just transitioned to solely breast milk it would make sense that your body has also upped the production. I am no expert at all, having only breastfed for three weeks but it all makes sense to me. Of course when in doubt just do those weight checks. That is ultimately all that matters.

LOVE THE PIC IN THE UK ONSESIES! I am convinced that the Cats are going to make Evelyn's birth year one to remember by bringing home a championship.

We are all doing well at home together, thanks for asking. As you know it is a lot of work but is also totally wonderful at the same time. We had a big day today, more on that in a moment.

Annas- he is growing like a weed! Love the pics and can't believe he is such an old man! :-)

Gina- holy helmets! And I thought IVF was expensive...hope your insurance picks up that tab. They should! Your babies are just beautiful...

AFM- somehow I missed the last 10 days or so of posts. Sorry!

What a big day we are having today! First, Evie's due date was yesterday. There is something about being past that point that makes me feel better. I don't know, like it immediately made her just a little less fragile. LOL. But the best part of this weekend? DH gave Evelyn her first bottle of breast milk and it was a raging success! This also means that I left the house without her for the first time since she was conceived. I did cry...and yes I was a little jealous that she took to the bottle so quickly and well...but overall I am thrilled. I am thrilled that DH had that special time with her and even got her to sleep. He was a proud and puffed up Daddy indeed! I am also excited to have gone for a walk. Just a few more weeks and I will turn that walk into a run.

Let's just hope she still wants me for her next feeding. She was satisfied and sleeping in less than 20 minutes on the bottle. That is tough to compete with to be sure!

If all goes well tonight, I am having a glass of wine tomorrow. Woot woot!

Hi Ladies,

I joined this thread about this time last year when I found out my 5th IVF (FET cycle) had worked. I tried to keep up-to-date with the board but if I'm honest I was too scared about reading awful sad stories of lost babies that I had to stop logging in. DH was worried about how worried I was all the time and thought it best if I gave the boards a miss for a while.I feel so guilty for not checking in and seeing what's been going.

I am SO pleased to say that our beautiful baby boy Harry was born on 29th December at 13.24 by forceps, weighing 10lb 6.5oz!! Big baby!! He's just so perfect. I pinched myself everyday that I have a beautiful baby....finally!! He's 16wks 2ds and now weighs 15lbs 10oz! I had a fantastic pregnancy apart from shocking heartburn all day every day! I also had very swollen feet/ankles and hands towards the end - i felt like a bike wheel being pumped up! haha I was taken into hospital to be induced on 28th December and Harry was born 28 hours later on 29th December. Labour was ok apart from I had my 9months of morning sickness all in one go - I was constantly being sick, I lost count of how many drugs the nurses gave me to stop it! I managed to get to 7cm on the maternity ward before a midwife examined me and said i was 7cm and moved me to the labour ward! thinking baby would be born fairly soon after that, he arrived 12 hours later with a little help in theatre with forceps! I spent one night in hospital and was able to bring Harry home on 30th December.

We feel very blessed and lucky to have our baby.

Congratulations to all you mum's out there :D Now I'm on maternity leave (and the computer is working!) I will try my hardest to catch up on all you ladies that I cycled with last year.

Take care x
