Hi all - hope everyone is ticking along . I had another check up today - all A-OK - the glucose test fine, measurements and blood pressure all good too. Dr said I could have a scan at 34 weeks - he said it wasn't really needed but he'd mentioned it before so DH and I think it will be good as a reassurance - so will be excited about that.

Beachbaby - I too am waiting for Phil & Ted's to come in - it is supposed to be mid April but still no sign! They are bringing out 2 new models here which look really good.

I haven't really bought much - just a couple of grow suits and some wraps - I am still too nervous but am sure I will soon.

I have put on 9kgs - think that's over a stone for you ladies. Am feeling very heavy and clumsy - it's a bit of a vicious circle, I feel heavy, therefore tired and then too tired to excercise but htis arvo I am going to make myself go for a swim.

Hope you are all well.

Hi Ladies, hope all is well.

Angie, i sympethise with the size issue, i felt i was doing ok until about a week ago now i feel like a beached whale, and am constantly breathless, due to one baby lying on my lungs. on the down side i am measuring the same size as my SIL who has only 6 weeks left!!

I went shopping today and bought the cots/car seats and some clothes and other bits and bobs. Got the pushchair on Friday, so finally feel like we are getting there.

I have pulled a muscle in my back, so seeing my accupuncturist tomorrow, hope he can work his magic as i am in agony.

Ok enough about me, hope all you ladies are hanging in there, we are nearly in the final stretch.
Take care, catch you all soon.

Hi Ladies,

Just checking in...Been a while, sorry!

Noticed some of you chatting about the weight issue. Hmmm... I'm almost 25 weeks and have put on 11 kilos already :-/ Haven't overeaten but must admit haven't been as strict as my normal diet. Brakes are off a bit ladies hee hee.

Twins are looking good and in the 97% weight range for gestational age. (A little on the large side but doc thinks that will balance out as they get less and less growing room) At my 23 week scan our boy was 1.7 pounds and our girl 1.9. I think she's beating him up in there coz she certainly seems to be more active. They are both head down at this stage but of course that can change at any time. Baby girl's cyst in her abdomen has grown unfortunately and looks like something that will require a small operation when she's a few days old. They are still suspecting an ovarian cyst but won't be able to tell for sure until she's born. Worrying but not letting it control me. I need to enjoy some time in this pregnancy. We will deal with whatever presents to us when the little angels get here. I'm still taking it easy and will be happy to get to 30 weeks, knowing that they'll have a decent chance of survival if they do decide to come early!

Boy, don't know about you ladies, but did I grow after week 18! I'm now measuring 33 weeks if I was having a singleton my OB keeps telling me. I can no longer lie down to sleep at night and am quite uncomfortable but hey, it's not forever is it? Only 10-12 weeks to go for me as my OB won't let me go past 37 weeks.

Had my baby shower at my Mum's interstate on Sunday. Hit me like a ton of bricks when I was opening all our gorgeous gifts. Got a bit teary and emotional. Still can't believe this is happening for us. So overwhelming to say the least. I still check my tummy every morning to make sure I'm not imagining it all and believe it or not, I'm still analysing the toilet paper on every visit for signs of impending doom (sorry tmi). Guess it's just become part of the ritual.

Sorry for the long post. Glad everyone is doing well and can't wait as we all get closer to meeting our little miracles.

Lots of love from across the miles,

Hi Everyone-
Just wanted to write and say hi. I'm doing ok, getting stir crazy on bed rest. I do get tired a lot easier these days so I am thankful I'm not at work anymore. It's nice to lay down any time of day knowing it's ok and not have anything to do. I'm getting bigger which must mean the girls are too. We have a sonogram on Wednesday so we'll get to see how they are progressing. Last time we got a couple of 4 D pics and they were so cool. Hopefully they will be in better positions to get a better look at their faces. Technology is so amazing.
Dexter, Jayne, Angie, and Vickers glad to hear you are all doing well. Hopefully as time goes by things will continue to go smoothly for all of us. Not too much longer and we'll all be parents!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi everyone-
Where is everybody? I'm doing well and the girls are doing good too. I had a U/S today and Taylor is 5.4 lbs and Jaqulynne is 4.7 lbs. I only have 4 weeks to go before they are finally here! I can't wait to have my own body back! I'm so sore and uncomfortable these days I'll be glad when the girls get here!
I hope everyone is doing ok and get back in touch.

Hi Kimberli - gald you are doing well. I also had a scan this week - mine is weighing 2.2kg which is just under 5 pounds I think - they said 200g ahead of schedule so this is good - he/she is growing well.

I 'm a bit sick of my baby body too - feel very clumsy and elephant like but I finish work next week which will definitely help with the fatigue. Hope everyone is doing well - drop in and say hi!

Hi Ladies, glad all seems to be going well with everyone.

i am nearly 31 weeks and measuring term for a singleton, so getting heavy to be carrying on at work, have at least another full time week to do as have staff on holiday, but have found this week hard.

28 week scan all was fine and both babies head down, so on for a natural birth at the moment. had a bit of sugar in my blood so had to be tested again, anyway all came back normal. i now have a slight UTI so am being tested every few days to see if it needs treatment, so far ok next results due on Monday.

My feet and legs are starting to swell also, i think due to the warmerr weather and being on my feet more at work due to staff shortages. can't wait to finish and getall boxed off at home. just waiting for the cots to come into stock.

see the consultant again on Friday with a scan, so will update you all then.

take care ladies, we are getting close now.

Hi Ladies,
Wanted to give us a bump up on the board. Can you believe May is almost over? We had a NST test yesterday in which all went well thank goodness. Last week we had one and the girls would not cooperate so we had to have a BPP which they passed with flying colors. We of course have another next week. All these appts are so tiresome anymore. I'm really ready for the girls to get here so I won't feel so achy.
I hope everyone else is doing well. Keep in touch.

How is everyone going ? We are having weekly appointments now with OB and i have finished work which is great - nice to be able to have a nap in the afternoon and also gives me chance to catch up on a few things at home, all those tiresome little things I have been putting off.

Anyone having trouble sleeping - I just can't seem to get comfortable on either side for very long despite a mountain of pillows - any tips?!

Keep in touch.

Hi Angie,
I've been having a hard time sleeping as well. I get up almost every hour to use the bathroom and then by 7/8 am I'm awake! I have a hard time getting comfortable as well. I've been told by several moms that towards the end your body starts preparing you for getting up at night for feedings. So I'm assuming there's nothing to do but to sleep when we can. Sometimes I can get a nap in the afternoon but again that's if I can get comfortable. I can't wait for the girls to get here so I can feel a little more comfortable. I have a head and feet lodged up under my ribs under my boobs and the other is lying above my pubic bone! I know they will be night owls b/c they are so active around 11pm / midnight! Hopefully that will change lol.
Take care,

Hi Ladies,

Glad your all doing well.

Kimberli, wow not long now till you meet your girls, how exciting.

Angie, glad you've finally finished work and getting the last jobs done at home.

As for me finally finished work, although still go in a few hours a week as its our own business, so i need to keep on top of the paperwork, the tax man waits for no one!! Our cots/cribs have been delayed but should be here by the end of this week hopefully, just about got everything else sorted.
Unfortunately i have turned into the elephant woman, my legs are super swollen so can only manage about 2 hours at a time before i need to rest with my legs raised. The good news is my BP is still ok so at the moment my consultant is happy. I am also on weekly checks with fortnightly scans. I am also uncomfortable and up numerous times a night, my legs are also sore so wake me also, DH is in the spare room due to my snoring!! can't wait for the babies to arrive so he can come back to our bed.
Oh well better go, need to move getting backache.
Take care ladies, and keep in touch. not long now.

HI Ladies!

Dexter here. Been a while since I checked this thread. Oops sorry!

Sounds like we're all going great guns.

I'm approaching 32 weeks. Started seeing my OB every 2 weeks now and next u/s is at 34 weeks. OB wants me to get to 37 and a half weeks when he'll schedule a C section. Ayden is head down and so was Kiana but she's now turned breech. I've tossed and turned over the natural birth versus C section but I'm too nervous about the second twin and want to eliminate any element of risk to her, so I'm opting for a C I think!

Oh and can you believe my OB is going away for a week, exactly on my 37 week "due date". Couldn't believe it. Was speechless when he told me. I'm seriosuly thinking I will come earlier as he already says I'm measuring term if I was having a singleton and running out of room. Here's hoping he's not away for my delivery. Pay all that money not to have your OB. Go figure!

I've put on 15 kilos now but managed to keep it mostly belly (or so I think hee hee). I'm waddling side to side and like Kimberly, I'm up every hour to pee and it's very rare to get a night's sleep lying down. Can't lie on either side but some nights it's worse than others and I have to sit up completely. I guess it depends on the twins and how they position themselves.

How remarkable is all the kicking and rippling tummy! I sit and stare at my stomach for hours :-) Such a joy and feel so very blessed.

5 weeks to go for me. Very excited about meeting these bubs and letting the real fun begin ;-) I've been to all the classes, read all the books and still feel so totally unprepared... Take it a day at a time I guess.

Lots of love,

Dex xox

Hi everyone-
Jayne- Glad to hear from you! Sorry to hear about the swelling. My hands are swollen, can't take my rings off but that's the extent. Try to keep drinking tons of water. My legs ache real bad at times too especially my quads like I'd done tons of squats and of course I'm not. From what I understand it's the weight gain and they are dealing with the extra weight.
Dexter- Long time but glad to hear from you! I can't believe your Ob is planning on being gone during your 37th week! Oh I'd be p.o.ed. I guess that's one benefit of going to a practice I have 5 drs I'm seeing so that I'll know whoever is on call that day to deliver. I would reccommend the c-section as well. That is what I'm having too. 12 days to go! June 13th can't get here any sooner. My drs have said that its too risky to deliver multiples vaginally. One may be positioned right but the other usually isnt' and can cause stress and complications. Best to be safe than sorry.I know both of mine are laying horizontally, breech as of last week. Taylor who is above my pubic bone was laying with her head above my cervix for the longest time and then 2 weeks ago completely turned. Probably looking for more room. Jaqulynne is up under my ribs under my boobs laying horizontally as well. In the sonos their heads are side by side. I love watching my tummy move too but now it's getting very uncomfortable and getting kicked in my sides or ribs is not fun. It is time for them to come out lol.
I have another NST test Tuesday and dr appt wed. I've gotten most of my suitcase packed for the hospital. Not too much longer!
Take care everyone!

Great to read everyone - Kimberli sounds like you will be first then? 12 days to go - how exciting.

My bump is enormous - random strangers keep commenting how big I am and I must be due soon and then look surprised when I say still 4 weeks to go - it's beginning to annoy me!

Dex - I have put on over 13kg with just one on board so sounds like you are doing well.

Sorry to hear about the swelling Jane - the feet up is a good relaxing position.

I'm going to do lots of cooking this week to store meals in the freezer for when the busy time comes - so a very domestic week ahead for me.

Keep in touch - I'm looking forward to some birth stories soon.
