Unfortunately just because the head is engaged it doesn't mean that I'm any closer, it's just really nice to know that Little One is in the right position.

How are you feeling these days - it's incredible to think how close things really are now isn't it?

We started our NCT classes last night - I'm first on the list by about 3 weeks which was a bit scary!!! Still can't believe how lucky I am and how wonderful this whole experience is.

Big hugs and take it easy.

Hi LP,
Its great that you all can take those childbirth classes.
I have no clue what to expect since I was asked not to go for any classes, plus there arent any in the area where I live..
It is amazing that we're almost there..
I have this horrid pain in my groin area(sorry.. tmi  ) almost as if bones are bending there..everytime I mention it to the clinic, they just smile, which is frustrating- its not there allthe time though- mostly when i shift position..
How is everyone else?
Cheryl? are you feeling better?
Jacs,
How're u?

I've had a sort of ache "down there" as well and when I mentioned it to my GP, he checked and said that it was just the position of the baby's head pushing on the uterus - especially evident when I lie on my side and then try and roll over!!!

How are you feeling in your self?

Little P,
Thanks for the reassurance- its sounds exactly like how and when I feel it..
So its the little one's head huh?
How're you doing? whats plannedfor the weekend?

I'm ok mostly- tire easily.. keep wondering if I'm already like this, then how'm i going to cope when Lil one comes..
Today had lower abdominal pains too.. but not anything unbearable or something- been going on walks to see if that'll help me with normal labour- am paranoid about a c-section, but if thats the way God wants LO to enter the world, then so it shall be.
A lady who was my cycle buddy, has gotten herself admitted today for her c-section- apparently, they told her that as her cervix was tighly closed, she would probably have to go in for a c-section, and she thought, oh well, why wait another couple of weeks, and so is admitted today for her C tomorrow.
I'm due for my check up on Saturday when they'll probably do a scan and an internal to check on my cervix.. fingers crossed that they'll find that I can go ahead with a normal deliv..
Long 'me' post.. sorry, and thanks for reading thru!! :D
hugs to all,

I'll keep fingers crossed that everything goes well on Saturday and there are no problems.

I know what you mean about wanting natural labour, so sending loads of hugs and good luck wishes for the check-up.

You're very good going for all those walks - I've turned from healthy and fit to lazy and big. I just can't get motivated to get off my backside and do anything - all I seem to want to do is keep peeking in the nursery and talking to Little One about where s/he is going to sleep in a short while!! I do love that room so much, it is beautiful - DH has done our Little One proud.

I think the nesting process has truly set in - I keep clearing out cupboards, throwing things out and re-checking that everything is working correctly.

This is all such fun   (and best of all I have a genuine excuse for behaving in such a mad fashion!)

Anyway, hope that you are all taking care and that things are "growing" well.

Take care

Little P

Hello everyone

I am 28 weeks today with twins and was hoping it would be ok if i joined you guys here. I have my 28 week scan in a few hours so i am very excited about seeing the babies again. I want the doctor to comfirm once again that they are a boy and a girl. I also worry about what if they mixed up the eggs somehow and when my babies are born someone could come in and say these arent yours and take them away, I know its like 99% not possible but hey i am a nerotic pregnant women. Also i have the most intense nesting instinct,. I had it with my daughter as well, apparently not everyone gets it. I love walking down the cleaning aisle in the supermarket and smelling the clean smells there hehe. Cleaning just feels soo good, but my husband stops me from doing more then a little bit because i have to rest for the babies.

I hope you all are doing well and that the close EDD girls are geting much needed rest. I love seeing all the new BFP and when a new baby arrives.

Thankyou for letting me share this journey with you all

Welcome here Jay!
I guess since you're carrying twins, you dont have to wait long..
Hope you scan went off well and you got to see you lil ones(its amazing right?)!

LP,
I love your reassurances- thank you ever so much.
You're a doll.
I agree with you about the nesting instinct- just cleaned out my cupboard here yesterday, but try as I will, am unable to make much space for lo's stuff, this being my mom's place
Oh well, I thought when he/she comes, then it'll all get adjusted..

Jacs,Cheryl,Joy,Olivia, Esther,Wardley- who else is there in the 3rd tri?
How are you all doing?

hugs,

Jay

Of course you're welcome and here's to a smooth time through the next few weeks.

I hope the scan confirms everything for you.

Smita

Looks like we're nesting together then!! It's a strange feeling isn't it?

I've just realised that my ankles are slightly swollen - been doing more in the last couple of days then I have done throughout the entire pregnancy so I shall have a day of mostly bed-rest today to see if they go down!!!

Good luck tomorrow!!

Big hugs to everyone else - hope you're ok.

Hie Ladies

Iam all excited, that time is nearly here. Just wishing everyone a smooth sailing labour. Smita like you I am so scared of a C-section. Iam hoping for a normal birth which is unlikely given my polyhydramnios.

Howz everyone doing, rest but also remember to get a little exercise.

Iam at my sister's since my DH is away, so I dont have internet access, I can only read and catch up on everyone's news when I come to mine.

Esther,
Hope you are getting a lot of TLC at your sisters place in the the absence of your dh- when is he back?

LittleP,
do those swellings hurt?
Do put your feet up.. if its normal water retention believe it comes down if you reduce protein.. not sure though..

Hi all - sorry I've been so quiet - still got this rotten cold and feel dreadful. I'm getting quite paranoid that it might last until delivery and it's scaring me because I can't breathe properly - I'd hate to be in labour struggling to breathe on top of everything else!

Hope everyone else is doiing great. Good luck today for your examination Smita - hope it brings the good news you're waiting for. We've finally finished little one's room and its an absolute haven - I love just sitting in there and thinking about our little one and just having quiet time - delicious!

love to all - I'll post more when better,

Get well soon Cheryl- must be awful to be saddled with a blocked nose at this time..
have you tried steam inhalation(with a drop of eucalyptus oil)?

My check up was 2 sided as usual.. everything with the baby is fine- head engaged, fixed etc, the downside being the water level has fallen to 8cm, so they're worried..
I've been asked to keep a strict watch on movements and comeimmediately at any sign of sluggishness in movements.. oh well, I hope this gets sorted out.
Next check on Friday to see if they need to do a c-sec because of the water.. back to guzzling again!

hope everyone is having a relaxed weekend!

hi girls
sorry i havnt posted in ages i have been catching up on wots been going on....but like cheryl feel rotten everything seems an effort
i went to midwife on tues and had protein in my urine and because of this terrible pain i have in my groin i have got to go see consultant...but they cant be that worried as appointment to see him is nxt week and then on top of the already worry i had a letter from hospital saying that they couldnt test my urine sample because it was contaminated(wotever that means)
i know im not the only person whos pregnant but i sometimes think there so insensative the time its took them to type the letter out a phone call would of been better and more reasuring for me especially when they have asked me to go back in a fortnight to hospital to give a sample when im already going in a weeks time .... i sometimes wonder if they know wot the right hand is doing !!!!
we lso went to antinatal classes on thurs night .. a very reluctant hubby as he didnt know wot to expect and all his work mates told him they never went ..after finaly getting someone there 20 mins late not the midwife who was supposed to take it ... off all 15 couples went for a tour to the labour ward all got squashed in a very very hot room..... this is it the midwife said this is the room u will bring ur baby into the world in !!! wot a horrible place it was..im not sure wot i was expecting but it wasnt wot we were standing in ....i thought it would be relaxing pastle colours comfortable...i think watching baby baby on sky gave me this idea of this lovely room like they have in america
i know im not going to be worried wot colour the room is but u want it comfortable for the partner(in my case mum aswell)
the bed looked so uncomfortable ...the chairs for the waiting partner looked uncomfortable the whole room was a dissapointment..the only good thing was the bathroom which had a lovely big corner bath but thats if ur lucky as of the 5 labour rooms on 2 have own bathrooms.
then it was off to the maternity ward which again i dunno wot i was expecting but thought it would be plesent with nice baby/children things around but again was just like any other ward and the nursery where u could leave ur baby if u wanted a few mins away was like a sluce behind the nurses station
to top it all the midwife said we would be in 2/3 days and that the food was terrible and to make sure ur family brought food in ...if u are breastfeeding it wasnt enough for a feeding mother ... i couldnt believe wot i was hearing
another thing was the labour ward was the other side of the hospital UPSTAIRS ud think they would have the sence to have it close to the main door
so all in all im extreamly disapointed and now realize why ppl have home births(not that i would for my first)
but guess wot the hospital provide baby grows if u want hospital name printed all across them AS IF....
babygrows provided... but take ur own food, nappys, maternity pads, drinks, towels, tens macine, bouncy ball or anything else that u think mite help u
grrrrrrrrrrrrr sorry iv gone on a bit just makes me so mad

Oh Jacs - you poor thing - I, like you, have a romantic image of what the maternity ward will be like and we won't see ours till the 1st March but I will learn from you and try not to expect too much. What a huge disappointment - you get this idea of how beautiful its all goiing to be and then pop - the image is shattered! Don't worry though, I'm sure your birth will be beautiful and in a way it might make it better because you can't really be disappointed now because you are expecting so little of the hospital - it can only get better from here! Sorry you're feeling ill too - we are both obviously having lots of symptoms to make up for our easy first and second trimesters! Never mind, won't be long now.

Smita - so sorry you're having more fluid troubles - lets hope everything's back on track for Friday. Good news with baby though - in right place and all getting set. I know you don't want a C-section but if it happens it'll still be a wonderful experience and will bring you that bit closer to your lovely family reunion. Three out of six of my close friends had emergency C-sections after babys got into trouble and they were still absolutely fine and held their babys straight away etc and say that the experience was not traumatic - just a little tense at first because they weren't expecting it. At least if you do have to have a C-section, it will be planned and calm and will bring you your little bundle of love earlier than you were expecting! I will be thinking of you and praying that the levels are up - look after yourself and gets lots of rest.

Love to everyone else too,

Cherylxxx

Hie Girls

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Myself am ok just resting.

CC- how are you with your cold, hope you are ok.

Smita- Iam sorry about your water levels. How are you feeling today, my midwife told me that if the baby moves less than 10times a day to contact the hospital straightaway. We have to keep a watchful eye on these movements.

Jacs- How are you feeling today, hope not too bad. I was disappointed as well with the delivery wards at the hospital Im registered, but i have no choice.

LittleP , Jayme and everyone else how are you, enjoy your weekends.
