BecP...Welcome. You'll find this board very helpful and supportive in the journey you are taking.

I think it depends on which course of treatmement you are taking. I'm doing "long course stimulation with the pill" I start buserelin on the 24th but started Microgynon( the pill) on day 1. Doing it this way is supposed to give you a quicker down regulation. If you are any way insure about your treatment plan call the clinic...thats what they are there for. And in my expierience I found the nurses are willling to answer all questions nomatter how trival you may think they are........I have the number on speed dial

Hi everyone

I agree it does look like our cycles are all slightly different. I am on the long protocol with no BC pills. For down reg I am injecting buresline and then for stims I have got menopour. Well the clinic gave me 3 bottles of buresline and I have had to start the 2nd one today which must mean we are getting there. 5 more days till Baseline scan.

I hope everyone has a good weekend

Hi everyone - really quick as I'm off to the V Festival tonight - YAY!! So excited.... :D
Macca - Shots are going well now thanks. Still a bit fiddly but am getting the hang of it now. :)
Hopeful - thanks for your advice re the air bubbles - I tried this today and it seemed to work well. :) I have a little cool bag to put my meds in this weekend and won't over cool them. I was told to keep mine in the fridge anyway so am sure they will be fine.

Well, I'm off on my jolly now so won't be able to post until next week. Have a great weekend and keep up that PMA!

Love to you all

Hello, Everybody!
I would like to join your group if you don't mind. I'm new to this board, so I'll introduce myself. I'm 30, my husband is 47. He has very low sperm count. We tried 2 IUIs but they failed. Now - first IVF. I started Lupron on the 15th and hope to start stims soon. I've been driving myself crazy reading all kinds of medical stuff online  The more I read, the more stressed out I get.
Lupron shots are nothing but I'm really scared about the mixing part of Monopur and the painfull Progesterone in oil shots. It looks like most of you guys started your stims already. Anyway, please add me to your list. I'm so happy I found this forum :D . It's great that we can support each other during this difficult time.

Welcome.. I cant tell you any info on the mixing (but I know a lot of laides on this thread had to do it) so I bet they can give you tricks to make it easier.. For me the progesterone in oil shots were not that bad..Its not as if they were fun but really once you get over the first one they get eaiser..One tip is you shoudl be staning and put all your weight on the side that you are not getting your shot on I don't know why but it made it better for me. I think you are less likely to tense up your muscule if your weight is not on that side..

Again welcome... :D :D :D

Thank you. Re: Progesterone in oil. I also heard that heating pad helps a lot.
I can't wait for my doctor's visit, so I can start the stims.

Hello girlies

Welcome to all the new girls!

Lisa, well done honey, enjoy your DVD s (I love sex and the city!!). I am thinking of you and your 2 beautiful embies!!

Paula, I have started down regg already, I have done so far about 14 days. I dont know about you guys, but once I start the stimms, I also continue the down regg injections. Does this make sense??

Angela, Yeah we did start downregg about the same time. My baseline scan is on the 24th and I expect to start stimms around the 28 th maybe.
Last time I did not have the baseline scan, and the time before I was on a short protocol (which I loved, so much easier and efficient for me) so I am a bit confused ( not as much as my Dr who keeps making mistakes...)

It has been twice now that I Have a spot of blood afetr the injection... I am doing something wrong??

I cant remember who said that, But I too cannot get all the liquid when mixing. There is always a tiny drop left in the bottle. I thought about byuing longer needles but have not done it yet

take care ladies

KF Image so pleased your here we have a great group going, i know what you mean about reading too much info it can really freak you out at least being here we have all been through or are going through the same things and can give first hand experiences, mixing i too have never had to do this i Ems is doing it and some other ladys are or will be on the same meds, Progesterone really isnt bad i found the injection its self much better than either lupron or Stimms i dont feel them at all my hubby always warms the site first make sure the oil is room temp too and massage and warm the site afterwards too and they shouldnt be too bad....wishing you luck on your Cycle

Souris good to see you, so pleased your cycle is going well so far, i take Lupron 20 units while downregging then once i start my stimms i reduce Lupron to 10 units, i almost always have a spot of blood after my injections its because we nick blood vessuls(spelling) its nothing to worry about, after you release all the lupron do you hold the needle there for a few seconds? not that it really matters but its supposed to make sure you dont pull any meds out with you.

@Souris:
I think I will have to continue Lupron even when I am on the stims. As far as I remember I'll have Lupron and Follistim shots in the morning and Monopur at night. I also take baby Aspirin.
I had a blood spot once. I don't think it's a big deal but I would like to know too if I did something wrong or not.

Hello again
My last cycyle I was on the lupron (through the very first part of my stims) I also had the blood spot once or twice I don't think its a big concern...

Souris glad you are back.. So this is your first time on a long cycle.. This is my first time on a short cycle so we shall see.. I am kind of excited that they switched up my cycle..
I do not remember what med it was but I had one that I could not get the end out of the bottle and my doc said that was ok and missing the last little bit would not hurt...

I love this site.. you ladies are so helpful and I always walk away feeling so positive..
love and hugs

Hi girls... How's everything doing with you? I hope everything goes well.

I thought my appointment went well till I got my blood test result today. My FSH GOES UP from 8.7 to 12.8 :( LH down from 8.57 to 7.63 and Prolactin goes up from 4,73 to 9.
I am worry so much about my FSH and also I just realized they didn't test my Estradiol. I don't know why, although I don't know other hormones mean, only FSH. I think it is important to know all test taken completely.

I didn't meet my DR today, Nurse's comment about my FSH may be because I was stress when taking the blood. I don't think so, I was so exciting and happy to start yesterday.

Dr gave me birth control for 21 days; I’ll start 2 days later. Then start stimulation. I don't know if he’s already aware now about my FSH, probably He will cancel :(
Anyway, I stuck here can't find ticket to go home till 23rd. My cousins left today. Thanks God, my friend offered me to stay at her place till I go back so that I can keep my money.

All the best to all of you. I really want to follow up what happened to u. But difficult to find place to rent internet. Miss u so much

PS : I almost buy Zita book, then I remembered my promise to Jackie :D :D

Luv, Jemma

Jemma,

Sorry to hear about your raised FSH. The doctor might check again when your next period starts after down regging for 21 days. Stress is a huge factor to raised FSH levels but how can you possibly avoid this when you are away from home going through such invasive treatments. I hope it improves for you honey.

Souris,

Hello my lovely friend. It's always nice to hear from you pet. It's great to hear you are so far into down regulation. They do continue the down reg drug (normally reduced dose). This is will keep your lining thin while stimming and it stops your body naturally ovulating. You only stop normally the same day you give the trigger shot to release the eggs. I bet you will get loads of eggs this time honey.

I sometimes pricked myself and little trickle of blood came out. It only ever happened when I put the needle in at an angle and not directly through where it bypasses the blood vessels. It's not a problem though when it happens.

Hi to everyone else. Welcome to the newcomers aswell. Have a great weekend.
