Leora, I just got your update about the doctor's recommendation in the U.S. and a d&c is exactly what my obgyn did when I miscarried, for some reason I thought you already had a d&c previously done? I have heard of the procedure being done and not all of it being removed so make sure you let him know to be sure none of the tissue is left behind. This happened to someone I personally know.

6/21 Found out we are having a BOY!
I decided the high-risk OB wasn't the right person, so I canceled that appt.
Instead, I'm going to call the IVF clinic tomorrow and demand to see a different doctor.
This is ridiculous.
They don't want to do another D&C because it would be my 3rd (after the first twins and for the missed miscarraige) and I already have pre-term delivery issues (even though no one can agree it's "cervical incompetence", no one wants to risk weakening my cervix).
Hopefully, I'll get more answers tomorrow.

Sunshine-sounds like a great plan. I'm not too familiar with the Attain Program. What makes someone a good candidate for the program? I'm glad you guys have a set plan.
Leora-I really hope you are able to see the simeone tomorrow and I pray that the doctor is able to put an end to this. I also don't quite understand why all the waiting. Please keep us posted. I'll be saying lots of prayers for you.
Indigo-who am I to give advise on HPT's. I'm a POAS addict. I would definantely advise getting a good quality test at the local drug store and retesting. I found that the cheap ones are good for watching the line get darker but not for the initial positive. For hay one I always use Clear Blue Easy or the one that actualy says Pregnant or Not Pregnant, or even First Response. Those are more reliable.
AFM-this morning I took a HPT. One of tge First Respons ones. Of course it was Negative. I'm only 3dp5dt. I remember , I did the same thing last time and of course was negative at 3dp5dt but got a very faint line at 4dp5dt. Im just not feeling it this time Buy i think i recalo feeling like things didn't work last time an then we got the BFP. I'm really not stressing though. I do remember feeling quite depressed lasytime when I didn't get that first positive HPT. I know every cycle is different. I have felt quite different with each and every one and you just never know. What is certain is that we have two embryos left. If this cycle doesn't work then we will have our last two frosties transferred someone in March, I guess and then that's it for us. It's kin of bitter sweet. It feels scary to know that we have one last shot at having a baby together but it also feels kind of good to have an ending to all of this. Strange, I know.

Indigo: definately dont give up hope. When is your beta? Everyone seems to have had a different experience with pregnancy tests. I'm hoping very strongly for your Yule baby x
Sunshine : we looked into adopting from florida as one of our options for intercountry adoptions but there are issues as the baby is given over after something like a 2 day period which there are questions over. Did you want to adopt from outside the state for anonymity? It sounds like you have some options really opening up and I'm really pleased.
Leora: talk to this new doctor about what your family member said - hopefully she can give you some more direction

Hugs, Leora! This is so frustrating! I hope it gets resolved soon! I think you did the right move by seeing a 2nd doc. What about Rosie's clinic ? Can you pop over there as well? She seems to like her clinic quite a bit.
My d&c was so minimal I don't see how it changed my cervix at all. I had a beta of 3000 when they did my d&c and it was totally minimal - i was awake during the whole thing. My doc didnt even want to call it a d&c.

We, thank you for asking what makes someone a good candidate for the IVF Attain Program....
The Attain IVF Multi-cycle Program is offered to all patients whose physician has recommended IVF and plan to use their own eggs in treatment. The Multi-Cycle Program includes up to 4 IVF cycles (2 fresh and 2 frozen). No medical criteria are required to take part in this program.
The Attain IVF Refund Program is available to patients who meet certain medical criteria, must go through the tests they need to review. Or, the tests will be required by your practice in order to undergo IVF treatment.
Here’s a general overview of the medical acceptance criteria for the refund program:
Age – in most cases you must be able to complete the program before your 38th birthday IF using your own eggs
They review prior IUI and IVF cycle data
BMI – must be below 37
Pregnancy History – 2 or more miscarriages requires a workup; if results reveal a probable cause of miscarriage and a treatment plan is available for review, they may offer enrollment
Smokers do not qualify – you must be nicotine-free for a minimum of 3 months
Blood tests (FSH, E2) – FSH less than 10 and E2 less than 75
Uterine cavity evaluation – must have a normal cavity
Semen analysis – must be normal or have ICSI as part of the treatment plan.
The Attain IVF Refund Program includes up to 6 IVF cycles (3 fresh and 3 frozen) and has a refund component. You get up to 70% back if treatment is unsuccessful. The Attain IVF Donor Egg Program includes up to 3 fresh and unlimited frozen IVF cycles and if treatment is unsuccessful, you get a refund of up to 100%.
Here’s a general overview of the medical acceptance criteria for the donor egg program:
Age – the egg recipient must be done with treatment prior to her 51st birthday. The egg donor has to be less than 35 years old.
BMI– both the recipient and donor must be under 37
Both should be non-smokers.
Donor’s blood tests (FSH, E2) – FSH less than 10 and E2 less than 75
Recipient’s uterine cavity evaluation – must have a normal cavity
Semen analysis – must be normal or have ICSI as part of the treatment plan.
Once the Attain IVF team has determined the program(s) you are eligible for, our Customer Care team will contact you with the results and send you a contract.
*what I am questioning is UP to 70% percent of the money back, how do they determine that?*

Sunshine-thanks for all f the great information. I was not aware of the Attain until just recently. I pray that you get approved and are able to begin soon. I would definantely ask about the "up to 70% refund" so you have a clear picture of what your getting into. In anycase, it sounds likes wonderful program.

Ladies I would really value your opinion on something. As you know Im due to start my ivf cycle in january when af arrives around jan 12th. That means I down regulate for about two weeks and then stimming injections and retrieval and transfer end of feb. I've mentioned I struggle with weight and my clinic want a target weight of 93kgs as a max for my height (im 5ft 9). Now I havnt weighed myself since before christmas but at that stage I was 96kgs. So my dilemma - should I wait until feb period to start the down reg and then stim and retrieval and transfer end of march? Or should I lie when i ring them around jan 12th and say im close to my target and then try like hell to lose 5kgs or so?its just so hard for me to drop weight.
I would really appreciate your thoughts?

Leora- Good for you for letting your Doctor know how you feel! Sometimes we just have to. I agree, you def should have a D&C done! I hope you will get some help and get it taken care of! That vacation sounds lovely and you and your DH deserve it! I hope he's able to get off of work!
Indigo- I wouldn't go by a test after the time limit. I always go back and look at mine but I know it doesn't count. There has to be two "lines" there if someone did get a positive, so after a while it will look that way. Makes sense? I'm sure there is a better way to explain it! Don't give up though! It could still be early.
Sunshine- Thanks for the information on the Attain program. Maybe Dh and I can look into that. We can't get a loan so that would be nice. How much is it Generally?
Ninde, i just know that you don't want to be loosing weight during the actual cycle. As a matter of fact, some clinics in US recommend you eat ice cream during the stim phase to increase the lipid factor of the eggs. It improves egg quality. I know Margie's clinic told her to eat ice cream and she has twins now. So, I would target to lose the weight before you start the stim phase.

Leora: I am so sorry that you are continuing to have issues. I wish that at least this could be easy for you. *big hugs*
Indigo: HPTs really can't be trusted after the time limit. The best thing to do is view them during the time limit and never go back to see them again because they can really mess with your mind when they've been sitting around a bit. You should be having a beta really soon... When is it?
Ninde: I would be truthful about your weight and do your best to drop some. I figure that the doctor wants it that way for a reason and that reason is probably better odds for pregnancy. You want the best odds and your doctor is an expert in providing that - I'd listen to them.
We: I wouldn't worry about your HPT just yet. I didn't get my positive on a 20mg test until 10dpo and I had a fairly high beta on 14dpo (227). There is still a lot of room for hope.
AFM: The spotting has finally stopped and I'm cruising along with this pregnancy. I've been released from the RE and am scheduled to see the OB.
