Sorry about the cold - what a miserable thing!! When I had mine my Midwife suggested hot water and lemon - it was a life-saver!!!

Hope you're getting loads of rest and relaxation - only a few to go how exciting is that :D

I'm hoping to start thinking about the nursery supplies next weekend and the ordering of the buggy - I can't wait!!!!

I'm still getting ripples in my tummy, I just can't wait for a full on kick so I can grap DH's hand and let him feel Little One.

Hope everyone is take care of themselves.

We're finally going shopping this weekend to buy a double buggy, Moses baskets, car seats etc - I've been far too superstitious to get stuff too far in advance.

It is lovely to feel real kicks but believe me they can hurt!

DH has only felt the 'twinges' so far. What usually happens is that I feel a kick or two, line his hand up to feel the next one and then....nothing.

I'm sure they do it on purpose & in there laughing their little heads off

I hope you enjoy it when it happens.

Jude

I know those anxieties all too well - I've been desperate to go and buy something, but too scared to do anything to early.

What we've decided is to go and give a couple of buggies a good "test drive" so that when it's time to actually order it, we know which one we want.

I've been looking at various designs for the nursery, but as yet haven't decided on anything definite - well I guess there's plenty of time!!!

I'll let you know when that first "kick" happens. I've had various flutterings and poppings so hopefully not long to wait. I also have had loads of the stretching pains this week - I'm getting bigger and bigger

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH :D :D

Good luck with the buggy and car seat hunting - I hope you find what you want.

Don't over do it though, will you?

Take care and have a lovely w/e.

Hi girls,

I hesitated at first but I had a few thoughts...This is my first baby so I need EVERYTHING....I completed my registry at Babys R Us - I know real early, but here is my thought....Christmas come before the baby shower so, people can reference that...Plus it allows me to change my mind several times....We have been to the Babys R Us store several times to feel fabrics, play with strollers for ease on use etc.... However this weekend I got to go shopping for clothes for the first time at Carters and I don't feel bad about it all!! You figure at a baby shower people buy a lot of infant clothes, so I bought clothes for 3-6-9 months

Hi everyone

Little P - Its nice feeling, those flutterings isnt it? Mine seems to kick mainly on my left side (Which does sometimes hurt now!). I was a bit worried that it was only on one side, but a work colleague said her baby was exactly the same! It must just be the baby's most comfortable position. I think I can now distinguish between what I think are hiccups and kicks as well now! Enjoy your window' shopping!

Jude - Thanks for the tip re gaviscon! I have suffered a little with heartburn, but not too bad yet. Didnt think about getting it on prescription though! Will bear this in mind if it gets worse! Happy shopping! Ive decided Ill wait until Im approx 30 weeks to start on all the baby stuff. We do have a few other household/DIY stuff to do yet anyway, so DH especially is kept busy! DH also normally seems to miss the baby's kicks, apart from one night when the baby seemed to know he was pressing on her and she kicked more! That was funny!

Jamato - Happy shopping to you! It is an exciting time isnt it? Are you decorating your nursery in 'boy's' colours or are you going more neutral?
Fantastic news on your AFP test results!

Jacky - Poor you with all the symptoms. I guess pregnancy can affect us all in different ways. I have suffered from a cold this week, which was awful, but not as bad as you! Hope you start feeling better soon!

Smita - Hope you are ok after hearing about the earthquake. Hope baby is ok. Im sure you'll feel flutterings etc soon. I think sometimes they are there, we just dont necessarily recognise it as the baby at first! Take care.

Take care everyone

K,

Thank you! I am staying neutral with decorating the nursery! I will decorate with bedding and curtains mainly because by the time my son is toddler stage, teddy bears and winny the pooh may not be his favorite....He may want something differnt~

It's so nice to hear how all of you nice ladies are progressing!! I'm just checking in as the 3rd trimester thread is a bit quiet.

I have to say a special congrats to Jamato for carrying a wonderful baby boy and getting past the the bleeding. You have a special place in my heart as we've known eachother for many years and went through the same doctors and treatments to reach this wonderful point! Congrats!

I am over the 32 week mark and getting a little nervous. I've finally started gaining weight and have hit the 6lb mark. The doctors estimate our baby will be approx 7-8 lbs if I carry to term. They are happy with my progress as I haven't had any real issues. I'm starting to have the shortness of breath at times and acid flare ups as my uterus is crowding my stomach. Otherwise feeling fine.

I hope you are all doing as well as can be. Take Care and God Bless!

Hi girls,
I was feeling a little low yesterday for no particular reason, but am back to normal this morning..
Little P,
how're u?
Felt some feelings like as if a bubble was popping inside my tummy- below my navel area.. don't know if its lil one there, or my imagination, cause I am soooo looking forward to feeling lil1... :D :D

Am thinking I'd love a girl,or a boy or a girl or a boy.. :!: :?: :!:  but wierdly cant think of a good name without it being common..while boys names crop up a plenty in my mind..

The concert I attended was lovely- it started with a drenching downpour and ended with one!!
The music was excellent, so the discomfort was trifling..Got worried afterwards though if lo would b ok..Am doing fine with no cold etc though..Talking of colds,
Kim,
Hows your cold?Hope its gone now..thanks for being as reassuring as ever.. the earthquake has caused widespread devastation, but not hit anywhere close to us..Am thinking at the amount of natural disasters that have hit the world in the past year- the tsunami, the hurricanes, this earthquake- is nature or God trying to tell us something?

and Jude,
has the gaviscon helped any?Have you found any buggy or car seat you liked? You're nearly there.. yippee!

Jessica,
Great news on the AFP results..have fun shopping.Jacs

Jacs, you poor thing, feel so bad for you going thru this..Hope you start feeling good real sooon.

Christine, its good to hear from ya..Not long huh?And the babies size sounds good so far..hope you get enough sleep atnight.

Carla,
Your post sounds lovely.. no sickness and flutterings etc.. coool :!:

Susie,
hope you're ok and so is dd now..

take care evryone.. have a nice week.

Hi all

Had one of those weekends!! Now very tired and concerned about Little One (as always!)

Jessica - glad things are looking good for you - hope the shopping continues well.

Smita

Sorry about the rain, but glad that the concert was good. Sounds like you've got those first flutterings - they're amazing aren't they?

Kim

I'm still anxiously waiting for a full on kick - haven't felt anything for a couple of days and am now at the "Oh my god, what's going on" stage (again) - is it normal for the sensations to come and go?

Christine

Good to hear from you and glad that you are doing well - do take care of yourself and get plenty of rest won't you.

Carlac

It's good to hear that you and the twins are progressing well - hope that the kicks aren't too much for you yet!!!

Everyone else - big hugs and love to you all.

Little P

Hi Smita

Sounds like you're beginning to feel your little one moving. Its strange at first as you're not sure what's happening.

It was described as feeling like 'butterflies' or 'bubbles' or even just plain old wind to me & that's exactly how it was - almost like being tickled on the inside.

It gets better as they get bigger because there's less room to move and you start feeling the nudge & kick you (can be quite painful at times).

I find that they kick if I sit in certain positions so sometimes do it just to feel them move - and sit there grinning like an idiot!

The Gaviscon tastes awful but it helps.

We spent a small fortune this weekend - bought a double buggy, 2 Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seats (they came out as highly ercommended in a Which magazine safety trial), ordered 2 new Moses baskets from ebay, bought sheets, blankets, a bath set etc etc.

There's no room to move in our spare bedroom now!

We've decided to have the babies in with us for the first 6 months - as recommended by my midwife. This means that we should get the extension to the house completed & a nursery painted just in time!

Good luck with feeling those movements - once you get the hang of it you'll feel them more often.

Thanks Jude and LP,
I'm feeling pretty good today! :D Keep putting my hand over my tum to see if it'll happen again, but I'll have to wait longer i guess for me to be able to feel the baby more frequently like you say Jude..
