Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not written in a few days but have felt a little down and needed a break from all this. I did a lot of shopping and feel much better now

I have an appointment with the RE tomorrow morning and if the cycst is still there they have scheduled for me to go to the hospital on Tuesday morning to have it aspirated. Has anyone had that done and can share their experience. They said that it not bad because you are knocked out for the procedure and it is very similiar to the retrieval process. The good news is that even if they have to go in and aspirate it then I should be able to start my stims of Friday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Cowgirl, Haylie, Lori - Good luck tomorrow for your EC. Let us know how everyting goes.

Rachael, Jenn, Jeck, Ampmed1, Cmoscar - How are you guys doing on your stims?

Jovigal - Welcome to the group. It is nice to share this experince with you. Good luck! I only have one working ovary also (lost 1/2 the other to a benign tumor a few years back and the other half is good for nothing except causing trouble apparently). I'm hoping to get enough good eggs from the one to freeze a few. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you will also. My husband and I have discussed how many embryos to transfer and we said we probably will go no more than two. Although, I know twins would be a blessing the ideas of multiples scare us to death.

Casy - Glad you are feeling a little better. Crying usually helps me but I really believe that shopping is the cure for being down . . . that could be why I have fourteen pair of boots :D

Sorry if I left anyone out but my best to everyone for a great week.

Jovigal...I just went online to check for sure why some go on bcp & other not...Here's what I found, "Before beginning a cycle the doctor will almost always attempt to quiet the ovaries and female reproductive hormones in order to optimize his/her control over the cycle. For most women this means a month or so on birth control pills." I'm pretty sure it also has to do with their schedule. I just missed their September schedule, so they put me on "hold" until they were ready for me.

I checked on the other question with Lupron and if you're pregnant. One site said that you should always use some form of bc before your IVF cycle because Lupron is very damaging to a fetus. That seems odd to me, since they are making me take a pg test prior to starting stims, but didn't make me prior to starting Lupron..?

There are a lot of veterans here who probably know for sure what all the reasons are, but that's what I was able to find searching online...Hope it helps..? :o)

Take care, and if anyone finds any of the information I found is wrong, please correct me...Thanks! :O)

Hi Charity! We are on the exact same schedule. I am scheduled to start stims, if everything is ok with b/w and scan, on Tues or the following day too. Fingers crossed for us that we will get lots of eggies! I have been on stims before for my IUIs so I am not too worried about the effects. Although, we are doing a much larger does this time that previous cycles so I am hoping that I don't have many side effects. I understand that Clomid can have some wierd effects on some women-I personally hated being on it. Maybe you won't have the same problems with the Follistim!

Jovigal-I have had TERRIBLE side effects from the Lupron. I have never had problems with any other meds except for bcp but Lupron has been a nightmare for me. Nausea, dizziness, general loss of equilibrium, I have terrible trouble sleeping and am exhausted, and the past couple of days have brought hot flashes. I will be on Lupron throughout my stims as well so I keep hoping that these side effects will go away because I am dragging. I am better than I was the first few days but nowhere near my normal self. What are you experiencing?

Lori, Haylie, & Cowgirl-GOOD LUCK for your retrievals. Keeping my fingers crossed for great results! Let us know how it goes if you can!

Good luck to all!

Thanks Charity and Jen for all of the info. I appreciate it.

Good luck to everyone having EC tomorrow. I hope you have LOTS of eggs.

Nance, good luck with your cyst. I kept getting cysts on my rt ovary and finally got a large one that burst and I had to have emergency surgery to remove it and my ovary. At the time I was in such much pain that I didn't care what they did but if I had to do it over, I would have begged them to save my ovary. Now, half my eggs are gone.... So far, my lft ovary is responding well each month so I hope it can do the job.

Thank you Jovigal for your support and for sharing your story. That sounds awful. I am sorry you had to go through that. I think that is why my RE wants to go in and aspirate it so that it does not rupture on its own.

Thank you again for your response.

Take care.

Best of luck to everyone having EC this week. Just curious, does your clinic put you to sleep? My RE does the EC in the office and only give you a pain pill. I'm just wondering how painful it will be....

Good Morning,

Jovigal - Yes, my ER does put you to sleep for the retrieval but not for the transfer. My retrieval will be done at a local hospital and not at my ER's office.

Good Luck to everyone going through their retrievals this week. I am praying for everyone. Let us know how you are doing.

I went to my Dr's this morning and of course the cyst is still there. They are going to go in on Weds and aspirate it and hopefully if all goes well I will find out on Friday when I will start my stims.

Have a good day everyone!

Jovigal,

I am expecting to do my ER on October 4th and my RE will be putting me to sleep. I have read that some find it painful and others do not. I hope they gave you something good just in case. My RE also gives us pain pills for after the procedure, but I am not a big pill taker, so I will not take them unless I am really bad.

For all you lucky girls getting your retrievals this week, I am wishing you lots of eggies. Good luck to you all, I will be following in your footsteps soon enough.

Good Luck to all our EC girls... WOW time has really moved.. hope you all get lots and lots of follies....

Jovigal, .. My RE does it in his office and knocks me out... for the ER (EC) but I have a freend that just had pain meds.. she said to make sure you ask for more meds if you feel any pain... they will give them to you cause they want you to be relaxed... the ET was cake and I was awake for that.... It was actually pretty cool....

Got some of my meds today (I never order them all at once) Got Lupron, Dexamethasone and Menapour.. in 2 weeks I will get HCG (ovidril) and in 4 weeks I will get my Follistim (I still have at leat 900IU left from the last IVF so I can wait a little longer for that one.. LOL also getting Heprin... and 17 HPC (PIO)

Babie thoughts to everyone!!!

ok ladies,

I'm new here. I have just stopped taking the birth control pills and will start the stim Friday 29th.

We have a beautiful daughter that was conceived through IVF and she is 18 months old now. We are starting this whole rollercoaster again in hopes that we will be blessed again with another angel.

I am so tired of waiting, not a very patient person. I am so glad that we're finally getting this going.
