Socal, I did an HPT 5dp5dt, which was 10 days past retrieval. I did it a bit early, so I could reason it was just too early if I got a BFN. I got a BFP though. I had done the same type HPT (twin pack) the day before & it was BFN. Since I did not trust it, I purchased a few different brands to verify the results. Yes, I am truly crazy, but the results were consistent & as some days past, the positive showed up faster & darker. You could probably go ahead & POAS because you are 10 days past retrieval today. Just remember that a BFN on an HPT does not mean you are not pg. It is hard to say exactly when implantation happens, which is really what actually determines how soon an HPT will give a BFP. Good Luck!

Yasmina, how wonderful you are getting ready to cycle again. That is fantastic.

My fingers are crossed for a BFP for Chriss today. :D

ok, here goes... I had my first beta today and it was sooooo low. Only a 7.9. Seems like I was pregnant for a little bit, but it just didn't make it. Of course they want me to come in on Friday to confirm. but I was prepared for this because of the cramping & spotting I had. UGH. I cried more yesterday than today. OK, the good news is that we don't have to wait to begin our next cycle. (Apparently my ovaries were not all that stimulated and they feel that it's fine to jump back in.) They are changing the protocol a bit, skipping the Lupron as it may have supressed me too much? It's worth a shot. Ha, ha. That saying does not mean the same thing to me any more.

Welcome to the new people. This is a great place to be.

Thanks for all of the well wishes girls. Your support means sooooo much to me. It's great to know that there are people who understand. Has this ever happened to any of you before?

LuAnne, how's it going?

Talk to you all soon.-chriss

CHRISS - IF THEY ARE HAVING YOU REPEAT THE BETA, IT'S APPARENTLY NOT OVER YET. MAYBE IMPLANTATION OCCURED A LITTLE LATER & THE HCG LEVEL ISN'T UP VERY HIGH YET. IF IT DOES TURN OUT TO BE A BFN, THEN AT LEAST YOU ARE ABLE TO JUMP RIGHT BACK IN. THEY SEEM TO HAVE A TMT-PLAN READY FOR YOU. YOU ALSO HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE & I THINK THAT IS PARAMOUNT TO SUCCESS. :) AS FOR ME? I'M HANGING IN THERE. DESPITE THE + HPT's, I'M REALLY WORRIED. I SORT OF EXPECT A POSITIVE BETA FRIDAY, BUT I'M WORRIED IT WILL BE LOW, OR WON'T INCREASE AT A NORMAL RATE. I WISH I COULD BE MORE POSITIVE. I'M AFRAID I'VE GOTTEN USED TO DISAPPOINTMENT IN THIS ARENA & EXPECT THE WORST. I KNOW THAT'S NOT HEALTHY! I'M SORRY TO WHINE. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, KEEP US POSTED & I'LL KEEP YOU IN MY THOUGHTS.

Hi Luanne,
Thanks for the info. I will test tomorrow, although yesterday I felt more symptoms physically then I did today, so I hope it is not one of those deals where I had an implantation that did not last....I will let you know how it goes.

First congrats to LuAnne.
Chris hang in there. I agree with LuAnne. positive thinking. Passing
Yasmina, wonderful news that you will be starting treatment again soon :)

Hi to everyone else.

My OHSS is still raging :(
Although this is a good sign for the pregnancy. I'm tired of it. I hate saying this because how will I survive the rest of the pregnancy if I'm having difficulties at present. I feel like I woke up 6 months pregnant [big belly] only my stomache muscles are so sore from being distended. I go back to clinic for eval on Friday. They will determine if I need to be drained again. My U/S is set for Tuesday and we'll find out more then. I have to say this hasn't really set in yet. I'm excited but presently preoccupied with trying to maintain some comfort during this hyper stim phase. DH is level headed. He has been so wonderful. Now work is another story. I haven't told them the details. My boss is a bit nosey and asked probing detailed questions. I do my best to answer in genralities. The last gal who announced she was pregnant was released from work. I'd like to have a few more months before being fired.

Wishing everyone the best. Keeping the PMA. Sending more baby dust to all those in 2ww.

Hi ladies

Welcome to Socal and Love. I'm just new here myself and this group is great to be a part of! There is always so much happening...

LuAnne -Congatulations! And Chriss - I still have my fingers crossed for you.

Catharine - I can't believe you would get fired over a pregnancy. In most countries in this day and age, it would be illegal grounds for dismissal and your boss should know better. That's the last thing you need to worry about at the moment!

As for me, nothing much happening. I'm feeling restless in the lead up to the big one! It's kind of depressing and hard to keep my spirits up so I've planned a jammed packed September to keep my mind off things! I'll still be popping in to check in on all the news tho - this board can get quite addictive!

All the best to everyone cycling at the moment. And hi to everyone else!

Hello ladies,

Sorry I have been away so long.

Welcome to all the newbies! Andrea, SL, Love, and Socal.

Kat, so jealous about your weight loss. That is great - keep it up!

Chriss, hope you get great news tomorrow. Glad to hear that you have a good PMA about moving along but all my hopes and prayers are going into that test tomorrow.

Catherine & LuAnne:

Catherine, hope you get to feeling better and less bloated. How long can OHSS last? I hope not much longer for you.

Tammy, Andrew is beautiful. He is growing like a weed. Sorry to hear about the sleepless nights. Hope he gets into a groove soon.

Yasmina, I have never heard about the pineapple during 2ww before. Can that be canned pineapple, or should it be fresh? I love pineapple so I will definitely give it a try during my 2ww in Oct.

As for me, I started BCPs yesterday and will start downregging 9/16. I got a call yesterday from my ER and we had a positive on the Beta Strep test. I have got to take antibiotics for about a week and then go back and repeat the test. DH also has to take the anibiotic. I asked why I have had this twice now and she said it was quite common. I will try to update my ticker today.

Hello to anyone I missed.

Hugs,
Kim

CATHERINE - SO SORRY TO HEAR THE OHSS IS STILL RAGING. I HOPE IT GETS BETTER SOON. OF COURSE, I AM THRILLED THAT YOU ARE PREGNANT. ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION WHEN I NEEDED TO TELL MY BOSS SOMETHING, I ASKED MY REGULAR DOCTOR (WHO KNEW ABOUT MY TREATMENT) TO PROVIDE A RATHER VAGUE DOCTORS EXCUSE MORE OR LESS STATING I WAS UNDERGOING TREATMENT FOR A SERIOUS MEDICAL SITUATION, WHICH WOULD BE RESOLVED, AND ADDED THE CONDITION WOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH MY ABILITY TO PERFORM MY JOB, ONCE I RETURNED TO WORK. AFTER ALL, IT'S NOT THE PREGNANCY THAT IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT IS THE OHSS. BY HAVING MY REGULAR DOCTOR PROVIDE THE EXCUSE, IT WAS NOT ON "FERTILITY CLINIC" LETTERHEAD, WHICH NEVER GAVE AWAY WHAT TYPE OF TREATMENT I WAS UNDERGOING. COULD YOU GET YOUR FAMILY PRACTITIONER OR GYNECOLOGIST TO PROVIDE SOMETHING YOU COULD GIVE TO YOUR EMPLOYER?

SOCAL -GOOD LUCK ON THE HPT TOMORROW.

CHRISS - I AM KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU TOMORROW.

KIM - I HAVE HEARD ABOUT EATING PINEAPPLE AROUND THE TIME OF TRANSFER HELPING W/IMPLANTATION. THE INFO I READ SAID FRESH IS BEST. I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT HELPS, BUT I READ A BLOG FROM A LADY THAT SAID SHE ATE FRESH PINEAPPLE UNTIL HER MOUTH HURT & GOT A BFP.

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE TOO! I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE CONGRATS. I JUST WORRY I'LL JINX SOMETHING BY GETTING TOO EXCITED PREMATURELY. :? TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY WHEN I ACTUALLY HAVE THE BETA DRAWN & GET THE OFFICIAL WORD. I AM PRAYING FOR A BFP AND A BIG FAT NUMBER.

TGIF :D

LuAnne thanx for the advice. As it turns out he called the hospital and found I wasn't lieing about being there for a few days. I've got the release forms copied for his files if he requests them and I'll get the letters as well. He's just so nosey. No answer is enough to satisify. I just told him look I have a swollen ovary why not known but it is the cause of all the fluid build up. Unfortunately, this can go on for another 4-6 weeks :( . I didn't sleep well last evening I had stomache cramps [muscle cramps] which lead to some really bizzare dreams. The good news is that my girth and weight have not increased :) . This translates into the OHSS stabilizing. Although this morning I feel nauseous, which could be from the pregnancy. I have to check in with the clinic this morning and give them my measurements, with that they will decide whether to call me in for blood work and U/S.

Hey there might be something to that pineapple. I was eating alot of pineapple with my lunches during treatment up until I had to go into the hospital. I was eating canned. I just kept having a craving for the fruit. Funny thing now I'm having aversions to foods I frequently had for lunch and dinner :( . I'm still on a high protein and salt diet for the OHSS. I'm sick of chicken, ham, and beef. I'm going to have to get creative.

Thinking of all the ladies testing today, positive thoughts and more baby dust.

Wishing all the best to the ladies under current treatment.

PMA :D

Everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Oh my how confusing that you are told of new tmt and a to test agin...I do think like hte others any beta number even 7 is okay...check out this site http://www.betabase.info/
as you can see 18 days past ovu a 7 beta was recorded and still a BFP...you are only 15 days past :? i think ...so please KEEP THE FAITH..it aint over yet hun. x x x good luck re-testing today sendingyou much love x x

Socal - good luck if you HTP it today x x x It does help to know either way but it can mess your head up cos alow beta still miht not show. If you had an HCG inj before ER then you MUST wait 17 days after that or a false positve will show. thinking of ya hun much love and good luck x x

LuAnne - Today you will get your beta confirmation of your BFP!!!! All those tests can't be wrong sweetie...i am so happy for you... :D :D ..check out the beta site i mentioned in the post to socal x x good luck x x x :D :D

Kim sorry to read about strep and AF coming later than you thot  Typical..eh..but you are now on your way x x x

catharine- oh sweetie what a horrible man your boss is...like Luanne said he cant fire you he's just a neanderthol man ...That is something you don't need right now...please take care of you and baby on board ( or babies) much love and hugs to you sweetie...you must be so fed up feeling so ill x x x

Amy thanks for all your support...How are you doing???

Love to everyone else...i am away the weekend to chill and hopefully get rid of horrible BCpill headaches  they are driving me nuts and so sore that i haven't been sleeping well. Finally caved in yesterday and took meds with codine and pressure has eased...Drinking tons of water and pee-ing for Britain  lol...hoping that helps ...catch you all monday
