Love, great news for you too. I am sure you will have at least one if not more that pass the PGD. I had PGD and a 5 day transfer as well.
And to everybody else, I am thinking positive thoughts for all.
I had my second scan today and not good news. No heart beat yet, I am 6 weeks and 3 days, and my Dr says there is not any growth since my last scan 9 days ago. This one isn't going to make it. He wants me to continue my meds for another week, not sure why, and go back for one more scan then. Will let you know how it turns out.

As for me, I still am not getting much sleep. Andrew decides he wants to wake up every 2-3 hours at night and he wants me to nurse him back to sleep. I'm hoping things will change soon. He is growing so fast. He can sit up now nice and straight, but still does not crawl. He seems to want to crawl, but just does not quite have it down.

hope too, love that you are recovered from your ER - my 1st one wasn't the best experience, but the 2nd time, my DH was there (and although I was out of it) I felt so much more relaxed -- so, hope you are feeling better!

sonia - sorry to hear about your cycle being cancelled this time around. must be a bit frustrating to have gotten this far. has the thickness of your lining been a problem in the past as well? how do things progress from here for you?

socal - my sympathy goes out to you. sorry to read that they haven't detected a hb at this point, but still seem to be wanting not to give up on you. I'm sure you're experiencing a lot of mixed emotions this week. It can't be easy for you.

tammy - your little guy seems to have you right where he wants you ...hope you're both sleeping through the night soon! Are you keeping a baby book of all of his milestones, like sitting up and things like that?

Hi Love, how are you feeling? Better I hope. If I remember correctly, you are having ET on Tuesday? Right? Good luck with it. Can you tell me more about the PGD test? Was it your doctor's recommendation? My clinic will only do a 5 day transfer if there are more than a certain number of embryos that are of a certain size and quality. Can you tell me more about your doctors idea to do a 5 day instead of a 3 day? I am just curious about it all.

I had my ET yesterday, we put in four embryos. Now it's the time to wait... again. I had to have anesthesia again for transfer because I have some kind of curve at the top of my uterus that makes it difficult to get the catheter all the way in. Doctors want me to be relaxed, so they put me under. Good thing too because it took her a long time yesterday to do it. I asked if it has any impact on pregnancy or delivery and she said not at all, just hard to get the catheter in there. Not to worry. Thinking of you all. Anyone with PGD info or 5 day transfer info, send it my way. I am curious about it. Thanks for being here everyone. HAve a good day and my best wishes to everyone. -chriss

I am still waiting on next step news from IM...been 5 and a half weeks on bc pills and next step is AF and e2 patches ( eosrtogen ) to build up lining and ET about 24 days afterwards...Kim looks like you will be 1st on 2ww now!!!! it seems to be taking forever x x just want Et embies at home and BFP!!! I dont ask for much do i X X

Thanks for updating the list. My transfer was actually a 3 day, but I was just curious about 5 day transfers. They put in four and I had three left over that were not of the best quality. We are waiting a few days to see what happens with them. If they make it to blasts, then they will freeze them. Hope you are hanging in there as you wait. It's so tough to wait, isn't it? When do you expect AF? I am thinking of you and wishing you the very best.-chriss

wow chriss - 4! fantastic -- the most they'd transfer here is 3, (assuming I'd ever have 3 to transfer!) very happy for you - relax and enjoy and take care over the next 2 weeks - wishing you lots of baby dust!
don't worry too much about 3day vs 5day. there are many schools of thought about the why and pros and cons of each, which all seems to end in a big "it depends" -- I'm sure your clinic did your ET based on what they thought would give you the best chance of success ...and now you have 4 nice little embies who need you to only think about them! --

Great news you put in 4. I had a 5 day transfer with a 12 panel PGD, but only one embryo out of 8 passed the PGD, there was one more embryo that they had a problem identifying one chromosome, so we froze that one just in case, but we are not going to use it unless we have nothing else and need it later. The one embryo we transfered did take, but doesn't look like it is going to last.
last year when I was 42/turning 43, We did a 4 day transfer and put in 3 embryos that passed a 10 panel PGD. One took and I have a beautiful baby boy. I have had 7 IUI's and 4 pregnancies from IUI that all ended in miscarriage,and with regards to getting a positive pregnancy test result, I have to say that with IVF I always seem to get the home pregnancy test positive result at 11 days post HCG shot, where as with my IUI pregnancies I would get a positive test result 2 days sooner. Maybe the embryos take longer to implant with IVF transfer, I don't know.
I think that they have different reasons for transffering 3 day or 5 day, but they both work.
How many chromosomes did you check for?

Hi Amy, thanks for the advice, my husband says the same thing, don't worry about it, etc. Just focus on the 4 embies in you right now. I am trying. It's going to be a long 2ww.

Socal, it is so inspiring to read your message. How old is your little boy? I am sorry that this time around things didn't go as smoothly. You've had success before, that's a good sign. When do you start again? We actually did not do do the PGD testing, but I am curious about it. What exactly does it test for? Who is it recommended for? Any insights are appreciated.

i was so Fed up yesterday that i emailed IM then phoned them...finally they apologised for not contacting me sooner ( my pills run out wed night 3rd Oct) and that is when they have told me i will stop taking them... Woooo- hoooooooo
about time that will be 5wks 6 days on pills and 3wks since appointment so a total of a wait of 8wks and 6 days...so pleased at last i can have AF...i went to buy a new bra today and have gone from a 34B to a 36C just being on these pills...no wonder they are sore...(.)(.)'s galore.

anyway AF should arrive by 6/7th oct so expect ET by the end of the month ( 28ish do you think jen1 and Gill?????) I am at last a happy bunny to be getting to this stage Still got a long way to go( and so has the lovely lady who is my donor ) so have a lot of



to focus on.... also have been cutting down clients so will be client free by 20th Oct so have a aweek reoughly before we head off to spain. x x

Does anyone here look on the CDC.gov to see the statistics of their clinic for IVF?

I did an extensive amount of research before selecting the clinic I chose, and yes I checked the CDC website. In fact, I discovered the statistics for the clinic I had used for one fresh/frozen cycle were not what they said. Of course, one always has to consider how clinics arrive at their "success rates". There is a clinic in Chicago that is proud of its success rates, yet very selective in who is permitted into the program. They are good, but possibly not as good as the statistics indicate. Some clinics (like The Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine) are willing to take more difficult cases and likely much better than their stats indicate. Unfortunately, the success rates on their website are difficult to interpret because they break them down to reflect several "categories" of patients in order to take everything into account. I just tried to compare apples to apples as much as possible. I am sorry to hear of the concerns this time around & I pray things look better when you go back. When do you get another scan?

I am doing fine, just getting by one day at a time. I am having a bit of nausea and heartburn, but the discomforts are actually reassuring. In fact, the difficulty is in all the worry I feel. I am 8w today. I see the nurse practitioner at 9w for routine labwork, etc. I see the OB again at 10w for a 4th scan.
