Thank you so much!!! It means a lot to me! I do look forward to hearing how it is going for you next month. I do wish you all the luck in the world and a ton of baby dust!!! :)

Noodle
How exciting that you were able to get your bedding already. I know what you mean. When I was buying stuff for my DS's I would just go in their room and sit and take it all in. I loved looking through everything and seeing it and holding it. It was great! I know what you mean about being tired. I seem to be a little better the last week or so but it has been bad. I almost fall asleep at work!

Rikirees
I am so happy for you that your baby bump is getting bigger. Wonderful news. I am still not sure what I am going to do about finding out. I really really want to know! REALLY! LOL I know what you are saying about the docs trying to scare us....It seems like it would be fine to leave you with trips. They will be keeping a close eye on you. Its not like they are just going to let you go and not take a look to make sure everything is OK. My doc was telling me today that the biggest risk with twins that share a sac is the risk of twin twin transfusion. Didnt you say they had their own placentas though? Sorry I know you said something about that earlier. He said that if mine were like that they would just keep a very close eye on them to make sure that things are progressing like they would like them to.....Just a little tidbid from me! Anyhow the sex was great! Really great and I think that will be the last time for a while. I have one placenta that is lying really low...YIKES! May be on bed rest soon....

Guys please see my blog at www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com because I have a lot of info to share with you and I dont want to have to type it twice. I will post u/s pics-VERY CUTE this time when my power gets turned back on. Having a minor power outage so my scanner has no juice! I am running on battery with my computer.

Tans: Twin to Twin transfusion is the risk I am dealing with now. It occurs in about 5-15% of identical twins. My twins are in 1 placenta in 2 sacs- meaning there is a thin membrane between the two. From the scan last week, the cords seemed to be coming from opposite directions too, but if anywhere in the placenta they mix, one twin can take all the nutrients and the other will get none. It is not preventable. BUT from everything I have read it is curable should it occur. The the treatment is 1. laser surgery on the placenta to seperate the blood supplies or 2. draining aminotic fluid once or as needed. Ok Ok I know TMI. I am going to be asked to be monitored on a weekly basis.
On a lighter note- I gave my 2 weeks notice today. Woohoo.

Thanks Sophie for the well wishes! You'll be over on this side before you know it. I wish you the best with your next cycle.

noodle, I know exactly what you mean about the exhaustion. You wouldn't be pg without it. :) That's a GOOD symptom to have.

I went to my regular OB doc today and everything went good. I won't actually have my full workup till next appointment. Thursday I go back to my RE for one last scan. I'll be 1 day shy of 12 weeks then....YEAH!!!! I've been using the doppler daily to hear that little heartbeat, or should I say GALLOPING HEARTBEAT!!! It sounds like a hundred horses running. So neat!

Hi Girls,

We are leaning toward not finding out the sex. I will be really shocked if I can pull this off. I am such a curious person. I also thought that with all the unknown over the trying to conceive period that this would be one thing that I could just know, but I'm not feeling so compelled right now. I will say that it is hard to think about gender-neutral decorations for the nursery. I am almost thinking going bold with orange and turquoise and purples. Then again I love yellow and green.

TansRN - could you agree that you'll find out and he won't. I remember my father and step-mother doing that. Unforunately someone sent them all their hand-me-downs and it was for a girl, but I think if he knows you are finding out it will avoid a major conflict, but maybe you know that in the end he wouldn't be upset with you.

I have to admit that at my 16 week OB appt. yesterday that I was a bit under-thrilled b/c all we did was listen to the HB with the same doppler that I have at home. Of course, I always like to hear, but I kind of thought - OH, really, that's it? Can't wait until 18 weeks for the big scan.

Congrats to those in their second trimester now!

Hello all....

Wannabe
I am thinking about that...I don't know what to do yet. I was thinking that I would just find out and then mum is the word. I mean not telling anyone but you guys. I would be safe at that point. LOL I havent decided yet. Oh well we shall see. It is exciting to not know but at the same time I want to get things ready. I am a preparer!!!! AAGGHH!!! Your appointment does sound a bit underwhelming!!! It will be more exciting at your next scan in 2 weeks. It is so fun to see them!!!

Jovigal
Isnt the doppler the greatest. I still love that thing. Whenever I worry I just slap it on and there they are. I feel so reassured in these early days.

Rikirees
I see. You have a lot of options then. That is a good thing. That is interesting how the twins are placed in the sacs. There is always something for us moms to worry about isnt there? Doesnt it feel good to put in your notice and be able to just do baby stuff and relax?

Hey Sophie.... Thanks hunny for all the best wishes. You are great!!! I can't wait until your next cycle so we can be your cheerleaders!!!

Tanya - OK so I got my doppler.. and my Lil Bit has decided that he is a lil magican and can do the disappearing act!! I have heard him just a few times very faintly but hey I know it is him ( yes still hoping for a boy lol - until proven other wise it is a HE ha ha) So glad that you and babies are doing great.Your posts were very nice on your blog.

Jovi - nice to see you here and doing well. I bet you are so excited. I'm glad that things are progressing well for you.

As for here I go tomorrow for the NT scan. I'm just happy that I get to see him(ha ha) again. I do go again to the OB on the 2nd and I have a bunch of tests that day and another sono to check cervix. They did tell me that my platelets are low again and if they don't come up I am off to a specialist.. Oh joy...

congrats Rikirees on the 2 week notice..I cannot wait I hate my boss right now...only 25 more weeks, give or take!
jovigal- I found the key to energy, lots and lots of protein!
My2Lnt- GL on NT scan...I go next Friday so please let me know what to expect!
wannbeone-I am also a very curious person, need to have everything in order, but for some reason with this I am comfortable not knowing, very weird for me...the room will be yellow with a blue ceiling and clouds, I'm even leaning towards having someone come in and paint animals on the walls.
TansRN- the bedding is nice..so special, DH got mad at me for ordering so soon...but things are good and I'm only 2 days away from 2nd trimester.
Malinka-thanks for the encouragement, everything worries me. Today I feel great, not tired at all, but I also slept in an extra 1/2 hour and skipped working out...I figure a nice long walk after dinner will be just fine!

Sorry if I missed anyone, hopefully hit everyone. Today's new obsession is planning an end of the summer long weekend get away. Fun Fun, DH told me I shouldn't book anything until "things get done" but I need something to plan!

Sometimes you have to repostition yourself. I put a pillow under my hips when I lay in bed and then I also waited until I had a full bladder. It really helps. Then you should be able to hear better. And want to pee like crazy. Try it though. It will tip the baby up and out of your pelvis.

Noodle
I think that it is great that you were able to find such great bedding. i cant wait until I can order mine. I am really looking forward to putting the room together. That is the fun part. My mom and my best friend and I are going shopping after my 16 week ultrasound. It should be fun.

Guys you have to look at the pics on my blog-The thumb sucking one is so darn cute!!!!

OHHHH Tanya..... You are super. My lil magician did the llittle rolls and he is real real good at hide n seek..... Even when tilted.. BUT it was so so much better the doppler actually gave us a reading on his heartrate...140-150 God it was so nice to hear. Thanks for the tips. :D

I did call my OB because I did forget to ask about the length of my cervix... NOW I wish that I would not have called... It is down to 3.35 When my RE first did the scan the paper said 4.6 then down to 4.0 and just in the 2 weeks it went from the 4.0 to 3.35 and what sucks is I don't go back for 2 more weeks.... God this is going to feel like forever.Anyone know if this is OK or should I start to worry... OK to late for that but....

I am glad that I could help. Any way to hear that little peanut. It does make you feel better doesnt it? I am sooo happy that it worked for you! Good heartrate....hummmm boy maybe? I know I know old wives tale....I just asked about the length of the cervix at my appointment and the doc said that they START to worry at 2.5. I would for sure just call and ask about it to set your mind at ease. It should be OK until your next appointment though....See what they say-put a call in to the nurse. I forgot to tell you YIPPIE for getting in to the second trimester! I have noticed that I am not as tired as I was a month ago. Still tired yet but not near as bad thank goodness.

I am doing a scrapbooking night with one of my good friends tonight and I am so thrilled. I need to get caught up before the babies come!!!

Hi noodle thanks... Hope you have a great weekend as well.

Tanya - When they called it was the rude midwife from the first appt. BUT she was nice enough to say that my platelet count could just possibly be from all the aspirin. And that my cervix was 3.35 and that was still OK to them..... TO THEM.... Not to me knowing what I could be looking at and knowing in less than 5 weeks it has shortened so much... So the worry is still there. I did take all this for granted when I had my other 2 they were both natural with none of the things that I have went thru this time.So I need to learn how to relax .. easier said than done and now DH is making me take it easy and staying off my feet just to make sure we are OK. Hope things are well with you and those cute little babies. I did like seeing baby a suck its thumb that was so cute. I would love to have the ability to be able to sit and do a scrapbook. I bet they will be simply beautiful.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Hi all:
Friday was a rough day for us. We had our 1st trimester scan, which by the was amazing. They measured everything. I wish every scan was like that. However, they found the first signs of twin to twin transfusion syndrome. The twins' bladders measured a bit abnormal and i guess that is one of the first signs. It is so early on in the pregnancy that they are concerned it is going to get worse. I go back on Thursday for another scan to see the difference from one week to another. Big decisions on our plates now. Are we going to try to go through this and fix it with procedures and surgeries (by the way the surgery to correct it is over $25k and it is not 100% to fix it) or do we decide one baby is ok for us and terminate the twins.
I am so emotional. DH and are are having a rough time and argueing a lot, which also doesnt help. He is a risk taker and I am more conservative. I just want the best outcome for healthy babies.

OMG girl you have sure been put through the mill with this pregnancy. I cant believe it! I feel so bad for you. I can only imagine how you are feeling right now with all of this going on. That is a decision that only you and DH can make and it must be hard with each of you on opposite sides of the fence about it. You wait so long to get pg and this is not how it is supposed to go is it? It is supposed to be happy and joyous and fighting about names and room decor not about the issues on your plate. I sure wish that I could say just do A or B and you will be fine....That would make it a lot easier. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for wisdom and guidance.

Steph
I did scrapbook with my firend and it was a lot of fun. I was so tired out. I had worked the night before and then only got like one hour of sleep! YIKES! I can't wait until the doc write me off of work. I really want to be off and just chill out. I really do. Keep an eye on your cervix levels and watch the trend and then ask about it. Make a little graph is you have to. I know what you mean about relaxing I was just thinking that my first was a lot less stress because I didn't know anything that was going on!!! I was dumb! That is the greatest place to be. I only had 2 scans done after 20 weeks. I can't believe I didn't go nuts wanting another one!!! LOL Now I worry about all kinds of things. I try to just take each day as it comes.

noodle
Thanks I had a great weekend!!! It was a good two days off of work. Now I am ready to do it all over again!
