Hey Melissa. First of all - congrats on the 8 little embies. That is a great number!

I completely know where you are coming from with the friend getting pg thing. My younger sis told me about 3 months ago that she and her dh were going to start trying for kid #2. Her daughter (my god-daughter who I ADORE) just turned 2 yrs old and my sis always said she wanted to get pg when her daughter turned 2. Still, she knew I was getting ready to do IVF and part of me was mad. I thought - why would she do this to me knowing what I am going through? I was being very selfish - I see that now. I feel very guilty for being so mad at her. Last week - when I got my BFP she was my 2nd phone call. When I told her she was not only completely thrilled for me - but she informed me that she is 7 weeks pg with #2. She was waiting to tell me until I got my results back. Now she and I are going to be pregnant together! She told me that she is more happy for me than she is for herself - and I believe it b/c she is that kind of person.

I know sometimes it seems like our friends/relatives are being insensitive but they usually don't mean to be. They just don't understand what we go through - how could they? That is why all of us on these boards need each other. :)

Granted I got a BFP, but even if I got a BFN I would be thrilled to have another new niece or nephew to love. I told her she is lucky she can get pg so easily.

Your time will come - you have youth on your side and the numbers on your eggs are looking good. Plus 5 day transfers tend to be more successful according to what I have been told. You and your friend will get to experience being pregnant together! If it doesn't work for you this time around, then it WILL happen eventually. I believe that all of us who have had to go to such great lengths to get pg will be better parents for it. It will be worth it - just hang in there! Good luck Sweetie - I have my fingers crossed for you!

Tapim I am so sorry!
Do they still want you to test anyway? Just to make sure?
When I got pregnant naturally (ectopic) I had a normal period and never knew I was pregnant. Just a thought.
Take care of yourself and I'll be praying for you.

BIG HUGS,
Allison

This is going to be a gross question. I had my EC on Monday now I have had dark stools since Monday night. And lower back pain and lower abdominal pain. They did give me an IV of Albumin to prevent OHSS considering my estrodial was way up. They said I should be fine for the 5 day transfer on Sat. I am just worried. Has anyone else had these symptoms before.

Could very well be the shot Melissa. High E2 levels (which I assume you had if you were give drugs to prevent OHSS) can cause the bowel to slow down and may even distend. That is likely to be the cause of the pain in the back. I have had that twice now. Have you been taking iron tablets at all?

Yes I have been on Iron but that has been for over a year. Maybe the combination of the two do you think?

Melissa - I haven't experienced your problem exactly but I have been (and I feel very embarassed right now even typing this  ) constipated ever since I started the progesterone shots and my stool has been more solid (not dark though). I have had off and on mild back aches too but haven't really thought much of it....

Well ladies - I am 20 days post ovulation today, and my HSG level is 3556! Seems high, doesn't it? The nurse said it is a very good indicator that things are great. Of course I keep thinking...... twins?

I would be thrilled either way!!

They said they are looking really well. My transfer time is at 11am on the 22nd. two more days.

Hi girls,
Sorry I haven't posted for ages - combination of work, busy at home etc - Have been trying to get al the things done so I don't think "I should really be doing that" when I'm sitting about on my bum during the 2ww.

Have base line scan on Friday - so should get ET dates etc then

Lisa - I understand fully where you are going from about your sister - my sis - in - law told us 2 weeks ago that she's pg with #2 - her & her DH are the only one's we've told about the IVF and part of me was fuming, but I saw how hard it was for her to tell me, and I think she only told us then b/c we were going swimming and she thought I'd notice!! I know if it works for me she'll be as delighted as we are - and she's already told me that she's really hoping it works for me this time so we can be pg together. When she had #1 her bro's wife was having #2 & she reckons that really helped her!

Anyway huge hugs to all of you that have had sad news - please try to keep positive.

Will try to update with news after Friday.

Take care all

Kelly x
