Hi, everybody! I just had my 3rd day of blood tests/ ultrasounds today and the dr. says everything looks GREAT!!! I am so excited, we really needed some good news after all of the previous dissapointments! So right now my ER is scheduled for this coming Monday but it may be a day later or a day earlier. I have been amazed at how easy the shots have been. I thought it would be a lot worse but I just think my husband has turned out to be a great nurse! I just have such a good feeling about this cycle and I am praying for all of you to have some great news too! I know what you mean about the hormones, I started crying tonight at a cheesy soap opera scene...

Hello everyone.... i'm new too!!

God it feels so good to find ppl who are going through the same thing i'm in now!! I'm 31 years old my DH has a problem with his sperm... they are low in count PLUS they don't seam like they move!! However we were extreemly lucky cz we came out with 12 embies!!! not so gr8 ones but at least something!!!
I did the first ET they used the best fresh embies, unfortunatly the test came -tive!!
We desided to go ahead and use the frozen embies right away the next monthe, wich is where I am now....they "defrosted" them and we got only 3 embies...I did the ET on the 23d.. now i'm waiting for the blood test...
I'm trying to stay calm about it and be positive... I do feel the cramps ocsionally.... but today i felt very nusious and passed out!!! luckyly my hubby was right next to me and i didn't fall cz he grabed me....now the DR wants me to do a home pregnancy test...
did this happen to anyone here( the passing out part)???
thanx and god bless :)

Hey girls!

PXV-
Can't help you on the passing out question as I am just starting my first go at this. But please keep us posted and I am praying that you get a BFP this time! :D Did you transfer three embies this time? How many did you transfer for your fressh cycle? It sounds like we have very similair fertility issues as my husbands count is low and his motility is also very low. Did you do ICSI? Our RE told us it was probably our only chance.

99-
Sounds like you have a BIG week coming up. I'm so excited for you! I am wishing you lots of luck for a successful ER!!!! :D

Well on my end I feel like I am officially off and running becuase the box of Lupron came last night. I decided to have them just send the Lupron first and then I'll get all the other stuff the last week of Feb b/c I was hoping it would help to see one thing at a time...But I was still overwhelmed! The needles are tiny but there are just so many of them!!! :o

I had to put it in a closet so I don't spend the next few weeks obsessing. My first day of Lupron is the 17th so I've still got a little time. But I'm getting worried because now that the time is approaching I just have this pit in my stomach that it's not going to work...do you girls ever feel that way??? :( Like I honestly cannot imagine ever getting that BFP. Sometimes I worry that maybe it's not meant to be for me. I TRY to stay positive but I guess we all have our days huh?!?!

On a good note I am calling today to start setting up my acu appointments. I am hoping that will relax me. For those of you who are doing this or have in the past how often would you recommend going? I thought I'd try to start ASAP since my ER is only 6 weeks away

How is everybody doing? I think we all need to post a quick update of where we are in our cycle. What do you think?

Love-

Hi pep23! I thought that was just me that had the "it's not going to work" feeling in the pit of my tummy. I think maybe it's because I have already had one BFN. It might also be that I think negative to avoid the disappointment. But I'm sure that's not healthy. I need to think positive. I've heard that positive thinking helps. But it's hard. Especially when you've already had a BFN. I want to think positive because I believe that if I think positive; positive things will happen. Then part of me thinks negatively because maybe that way if I get a BFN again it won’t hurt so much. Not sure how to feel. It's all so scary. But I am excited to be giving it another try. My doctor has decided to change some meds this time, hoping that will make a difference. I pray that it does.

I started Lupron last Friday and I am already feeling slight pain in my ovaries. Not sure if it's just mental, craps, anxiety or what. Hormones and body are all out of wack! Last time I did the IVF, as I got closer to my egg retrieval I had lots of pain on my left side. My doctor said it was because of the expanding due to all the extra eggs. Also, my left fallopian tube (or was it an ovary) is stuck to my wall due to endo and adhesions. :-( That right there scares me and makes me think IVF is not going to work again because of that. I spoke to my doctor after the first BFN about having surgery. He advised against it and told me that I should try IVF again. Part of me thinks I will not get a BFP as long as I have endo and adhesions and a tube stuck to the wall. For some reason my gyno decided not to remove the stuck tube/ovary from the wall. I guess he thought it was a risk and might mess something up. But because of that I feel pain on that side. Not comfortable at all and it just gets worse with AF and stims. The pain makes me think....this isnt going to work.

I think we should keep each other up to date on what’s going on with us. I know ready about others going thru what I am when I am going thru it helps a great deal. Nice to know I’m not the only hormonal mess in the world right now.

Anyone feeling like their clothes are fitting a little too snug? Sweats have become my best friend.

I need help with the positive thinking ladies. I'm obsessing over here. Trying to stay busy. Trying not to think about it every waking moment!

Good Luck to you all!

Hey wannababy,
I'm glad to know you feel the same! Sometimes when I read about people who had BFP with their first IVF I always wonder "Did they feel all along it was going to work??" becuase, like you, I try to be positive but still have that worried apprehensive feeling sometimes...

If you started your stims last Friday then it looks like I will be about 2 weeks behind you! So we should definitely keep each other up to speed on our progress. And more importantly cheer each other along to keep up the positive thinking!!! :P

I did talk to the acupuncturist today and scheduled my first three appointments. I was really excited when I got off the phone with him. Not sure if this will make a difference in the outcome of my cycle but I figure at the very least maybe it will calm my nerves and give me a sense of peace when I'm going through all the craziness. My first appt is Feb 13th...Happy Valentines Day to me!!

Better get back to work...Hope you have a great night!!!

Love-

HI EVERYONE......

WANNABABY.....I LOVE THE "BIPOLAR COMMENT" ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS.....THAT'S SO TRUE AND SO NORMAL WHILE GOING THROUGH ALL THIS.......IT MADE ME HAVE A GOOD LAUGH.

I GO FOR MY BLOOD TEST 2/5/07......THE DAY AFTER THE SUPER BOWL.....I'M BEGGING MY DR. TO TEST ME SUNDAY (IF THEY ARE GOING TO BE THERE FOR ANY EC'S OR ET'S.....) I DON'T FEEL ANYTHING RIGHT NOW.....NO SIGNS WHAT SO EVER. I KNOW I WAS TOLD NOT TO BUY A TEST, BUT IF HE WON'T TEST ME SUNDAY.....I'M DOING THE HPT. IS THERE A BETTER ONE TO BUY FOR BEST EARLY RESULTS????

Totally crashing again (sorry!!!). But Wisconsingirl.. just was looking to see how your ET went... and saw your question. There is a web site that compares all the hpts. I THINK this is it... (fingers crossed) www.peeonastick.com/hpts/html. Hopefully this is right, if not.. the peeonastick is for sure. Good luck to all of you (and sorry for the barge  )

SASSY: No such thing as a barge. Well not in my book. Everyone is welcomed. :-) I guess I'm barging also, I plan to check out the website, myself. :-)

WISCONSINGAL: Any particular reason why you were told not to buy a HPT? I was told not to take it as a accurate test. Meaning you going get a false/negative or false/positive...whatever you want to call it. With IUI's and 1st IVF, my doctor always had me come in for a prego test. But then when I got there he asks..."Did you take HPT?" My results were always the same as his. BFN!!!! I was always so scared to take one and everytime I talked myself into take one.....it was negative. Maybe I wont take a HPT this time and the results will be different (positive). I'm willing to give anything a try.

MY RN JUST SAID......."DON'T TAKE THE HPT" SOMETIMES THEY'RE RIGHT...AND SOMETIMES THEY'RE WRONG. I DON'T PLAN ON DRINKING EITHER WAY BECAUSE I KNOW IT WOULDN'T BE GOOD IF THE TEST WAS WRONG AND I WAS....OR VISE VERSE...IF IT WAS NEGATIVE MY BODY WOULD PAY THE PRICE AND I THINK I'D DRINK MY SORROWS AWAY.....I'M LOOSING MY PATIENTS AND MY DH AND I ARE SO DISTANT RIGHT NOW......I DIDN'T KNOW HOW MUCH I RELIED ON "SEX" UNTIL YOU CAN'T GET ANY!!!!!!! MY ER'S ARE SO HARD ON ME SO THAT WEEK WAS BAD......NOW THIS TWO WEEK WAIT SEEMS LIKE FOREVER........THE PROGESTERONE SHOTS ARE HARD BECAUSE HE HATES NEEDLES AND TOTALLY HATES GIVING ME THE SHOTS......MY BUTT HAS TONS OF BLACK AND BLUE MARKS (ALL OVER......) SO I'M SURE THAT'S NOT TO ATTRACTIVE EITHER....BUT I KNOW HE'S KEEPING ALL HIS EMOTIONS IN AND THE WAIT IS KILLING HIM TOO........I'M GOING TO TRY TO BREAK THE ICE TOMORROW NIGHT AND SEE IF I CAN GET HIM TO TALK A LITTLE. I JUST WISH I HAD SOME SYMTOMS OR SIGN THAT WOULD SHOW A POSITIVE..........I GUESS ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

Hi to all - sorry I have been out a while, but my DH's x-wife (unmarried living with a guy) just delivered a baby on Monday. She is so heavy none of us even noticed, but I have been dealing with the hurt and anger of it all. I guess I am better today than I have been since Friday night. It's just not a good example for her other children and I guess I'm upset because it should be ME.

Pep23- About telling others about the IFV thing. DH and I have kept it in the immediate family (his parents and mine) and just a few trustworthy friends. I finally did tell my boss only because I was going to be off work, but no one else. I guess I'm lucky because there is a girl I work with that is going thru the same thing and it is nice to have someone to compare notes with. As far as people who got BFP the first time out, I think it is just lucky that the meds were just right (and some devine intervention too). In my case dr was too conservative with the meds and I'm feeling better about this round. Egg quality should be much better.

Mynala - I know what you mean by just laying around.....it's VERY hard to do. I'm praying for you and a BFP.

Charity - I'll say some special prayers for you and you know if you relax (not having to worry about IVF treatments) you might be surprised at what miracles can happen. Just stay positive and you and DH will be blessed.

Susan - I start my Lupron just a week earlier than you. I'm a little apprehensive too because of the increase this time -- almost double. Like you, I only had 3 last time, never to the full blast stage, and ET was 3 days after retrieval. I didn't notice any mood alterations but my weight was increasing along with the "sisters" (out of the edges of the bra), not to mention the feeling of being full in the abdomen. I'm going to try some low impact exercises this time. I'm like you anything for the little ones. I'm the queen of no caffine and the designated driver for parties. I guess I don't mind too much.

Wisconsingal - I know what you mean about the distance thing. DH and I were really not close during the last IVF. But I am really going to try to be better this time out. DH said the only time I see you is with a needle in your hand. That seemed true! No sex seemed to keep us farther apart. Hopefully this time I can control the raging harmones and keep from feeling like it's not working long enough to concentrate on him too. Maybe it will relax me too so I won't be so negative about the treatment.

Ladies - does anyone know anything about Reflexology? I don't have anyone that can do acupuncture in this area although I may ask the dr. about it next Wed when I go. I just was curious if anyone had check into it and knew anything.

Better get back to studying besides DH has dinner ready........he is such a good cook....lucky me (although it may be why I'm a little heavier too).

Stay positive everyone..............Julia

Hi everyone,

I have been in the December / Jan thread but everything is going to be happening in February so I thought I would pop in and say hi and introduce myself.

This is our first round of IVF it has been a long wait and we are really excited to finally have the chance to make our dream come true.
I started Burseliun last Tuesday and I have a blood test on Monday to make sure everything has shut down and then it is onto Puregon to produce all those lovely eggs and EC is scheduled for the week of 19th Feb. So far I’ve been lucky with no symptoms other than a little bloating waking up a few times in the night and really weird dreams. I'm looking forward to moving onto the next stage - time goes so slow at times - it is like waiting for Christmas when you were a kid or your exam results.

Pep23
I found the thought of having to have the injections and the 1st injection the hardest. It is still a little strange but so much easier once you have done it a couple of times. DH still can't bring himself to do one but we are working on that - I suggested it may be nice for him to give me the "egg food" shots and the trigger shot.....

Wannababy IVF
I can relate to the snug clothes. I went out looking for something the other day cos I wanted something that I felt good in - why is it every time you go out looking for something you can never find anything you like or looks good.

Wisconsingal
Your right it is hard on DH’s as well as us - I think it can often focus on us and the guys kind of sit back in the corner feeling bad that they can't fix it and make it all better. Curl up on the couch tonight, put on some nice music and spend a little QT (quality time) together. Give him a foot rub or a back rub it he likes that kind of thing, be close, ask him if there is anything you can do to make things a little easier for him (it will also give you something to focus on if there are some things you can do for him).

Plan something special together this weekend. Something that is totally unrelated to IVF - even if it is a movie or picnic together have some fun together - do something a little indulgent - make it a time of special happy memories together - not just something the two of you suffer through together to have a child.

While the process of creating a family with IVF may not be the same as most couples I think it is important we make a conscious effort find a way to make the process and time surrounding the couple of months a time that has special memories, fun times, closeness and brings out all those things you promised to each other during your wedding vows.

Take care everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all over the next month or so.

Hey pep23

I wish you and everyone here all the luck in the world.... I am still waiting 4 my blood test which will be on friday hopefully :)..... to answer you Qs well yes they transfered three embies cz we lost two after defrosting....we had those three... one is in a better shape then the rest.... so I'm counting on that one.....
We transfered 4 grade B embies on my last fresh cycle... they had to do ICSI cz the sperm wouldn't move nor penetrate alone...so i think that'll be your best hope...

I would just like to tell everyone here that you absolutely have to have faith and be positive you are after all trying to bring life....

god bless :)
