Donna, definitely not offended. I think honesty and clear judgement are essential. You and DH can now take a course which removes your fears re. genes. 'Going for it' can be a great way to get over the disappointment. You sound strong and committed. Good luck finding a donor. One day I will start running again, I've taken this week off so perhaps can go and start to get my painful knee sorted out.

Traci. Congrats on the 6th follie, I'm sure it won't be the last new one to show up either. You're doing your injection as I type this. I hope it goes well. I did mine 30mins ago and was suddenly very nervous, even asked DF to watch for moral support. Our ECs will be 15mins apart and we're on the same timezone I think (CET?). Just have to hope our clinics test on the same day too. Mine do blood tests which take 24hours to come back so suspect you'll know your result a day before me. Never mind...we can support each other come what may. We can chat about Chicago a bit. I really, really enjoyed a holiday DF and I took there in 2001. We stayed around Lincoln Park and had a blast.

Maci...I suspect I've had less scans as this is my 3rd fresh cycle and there's been zero chance of over-stimulation in the past so perhaps they're letting experience dictate the course. Good luck with your Burselin, always sounds more complicated than Puregon.

Hi to everyone else, thanks for all your kind wishes. I want to go to bed early, Zita's advice of giving the body as much rest as possible sounds good right now.

hugs
Debra.

Hi Debra, I tried to go to bed early last night - but tossed and turned most of the night. I did the HCG injection myself - and to be honest I was extremely nervous and it hurt (probably because I was extremely nervous and everything in my body tensed up). I am really happy we will be together during the 2WW  I will definitely need all the support :D :D After my IUI I took Utrogest (progesterone) which elevated my temps and delayed AF. Although I had absolutely no other pg signs - I thought for sure it had worked  Needless to say I look forward to the 2WW (but also dread the anxiety...I need to figure out a project to keep my busy - since I don't think I will workout during this time either).

Enjoy your day today! I am off to work but do not plan staying the entire day

Hi Traci, Sorry you didn't get the sleep you wanted. I've posted elsewhere that I too had a terrible, terrible night. Only partly the shot but yes it hurt me too - and I felt the air bubbles at the end, which I know aren't harmful if doing a subcutant jab - but still a dodgy feeling. Next to no sleep so I look rough, rough, rough right now.

Off for my porridge (do you call it oatmeal?) - I'm still going for the protein to help the final 24 hrs of egg development. Dinner last night was dry-fried tofu and tomato stired into a lentil chili with whole almonds on top. I'd eated crisps whilst cooking so not exactly healthy all round

I've taken this week off but will be back part time from next Monday. I don't feel it's quite enough but I'll try for as much complete rest over the weekend. Our sofa is being delivered on Friday so I won't be able to lie around and watch tv post EC/ET unfortunately.

take care,
Debra

Howdy folks.

Just wondering if anyone has had any strange side effects from Puregon. It has given me a warm fuzzy feeling.....I just wanted to hug everyone at work today. I am hoping that this will not get any worse or I may find myself at the centre of a sexual harrassment claim!

Hugs to all.

Heather - I did not have any 'warm fuzzy' feelings but DH said that I was much calmer/relaxed....he said I should take Purogen all the time!

After my HCG shot last night, my stomache is feeling really bloated today and I am very weepy (this could be lack of sleep).

hello ladies!
it seems everyone knows each other well here. i was wondering if i can join your thread. this is my first IVF with ICSI attempt and so i'm quite anxious of what my results will be. i started downregulating with lupron last 3/23, started repronex on 4/1. hopefully my egg aspiration will be on 4/12 and embryo transfer on 4/15.

my DH & i haven't told anyone at all about what we're goin' through. sometimes i want to open up to my friends, but i can't. i have avoided attending any family gatherings lately 'coz everyone seems to have to ask why i don't have a baby yet? for me, i would rather open up to people who are experiencing what we're goin' through for now. and that is why i'm here.

GOOD LUCK & BABY DUST to us ALL!

Welcome Elle - this is our first IVF/ICSI too, you are a bit ahead of me but we're all bddies here :D

I've not felt too great today. Feeling really tired and have a thumping headache, one of those ones that feels like your skull is about to explode when you bend down. Don't know if this is related to meds or not - the variation of symptoms people seem to experience is huge. Anyway, whatever is causing it, it had better stop soon or at least ease off a bit. Good excuse for a wee nap

D&T - have posted for you guys on roll call thread. My clinic only does EC under sedation too - oh heck. Hope all goes well for you both tomorrow. Look forward to hearing your news.

Bye for now,

Maci x

Maci

Hope the headache disappears soon - there's always something isn't there :!:

I've only ever had EC during general anaesthetic before, but apparently my new hospital uses sedation so I'm going to have another new experience :?

Hope everyone is coping - Debra and Traci, still got my fingers firmly crossed for your ECs - PMA to you both.
