Heather

Sounds like your dh is a real sweetie. You are right - we are all very lucky to have them. Sounds like your estradol level has picked up quite a lot which is no doubt good news. Hope that with all the rest & the increased meds that you will grow some more follies over the weekend.

Take good care. Thinking of you.

Heather,
Looks like your levels are going up. that's a very good sign:) I really hope that you make enough eggies.
As for me- I ams till worried. I go for an u/s tomorrow. i am terrified to look at the monitor and again see only 5-6 follicles.
besides that, it's warm and nice in NJ. I am enjoying the weather. We will go shopping in a bit, so I hope that brings my mood to a better (read tolerable:):)) level.

Everyone, enjoy the weekend! And thank you all of the nice words. I know someone needed to be the slowest responder of the group , right:):) but why me?:):):)
You are awsome.

Hi Everyone,

Cyot - well done for the 8 eggs, fantastic! Best of luck for ET tomorrow xx

Carolyn - hope you're hanging in there. Did you get through your anniversary without talking about tmt?!

Em - how you feeling today, be easy on yourself - one glass of wine isn't something to feel bad about.

Luby - how did your ET go? I hope they stick :)

Vess - you're at about the same level as me! I've been on the stims for 9 days now and have 5/6 follies on both sides. I am positive that we will both be fine, you have plenty of time to catch up! By the way, since I have been on stims for 9 days, I think that makes ME the slowest responder of the group!!! Sorry girl, you're in 2nd place :)

Heather - I think it's ok to think about what life would be life without children, or at least what happens if IVF doesn't work - I know I have. But it's also important to keep some balance and try to be positive. I just think to myself that I have mentally prepared to have at least 3 goes before a +ive so if this cycle doesn't work I will be able to pick myself up and try again, without feeling too unbelievably devasted about it. Just be really kind to yourself and feel what you're feeling. P.S. Your DH sounds wonderful!

Natalie - wow, you had guts to say no to the drugs! Best of luck to you for your EC on Monday.

I had my first scan since going on the stims today! I've been on the stims now for 9 days and the dr says I have 4-5 days to go - dammit. Since my last posting my follies feel as if they have really kicked into action, they're really quite sore and I can really feel them, particularly when my bladder is full. I checked through my notes at the clinic and my Oestradol levels doubled to over 1000 yesterday so it's no wonder! I have 5-6 on both sides but I don't know what size as I didn't ask (my mind seems to go to mush once I'm in the surgery). I seem to have put more weight on and wish I could go to work with my tracky pants on! Or maybe I should buy myself some maternity trousers, ha ha. Just had a lovely afternoon nap with my hot water bottle so am feeling nice and rested now. DH is calling me to come and sit with him so I have to go now.

Love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi girls!

I know its been a while- I've been resting for two days- getting up if absolutely necessary and walking slowing up/down the stairs. This 2ww will be long...but I've been talking to my babies and wondering what they're up to. My belly is still very swollen- same size as b4 EC.So only my yoga pants fit. Luckily I don't have to work right now- don't know what I would wear.

Cyot- Good job - 8 embryos! Good luck with ET tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. About the cell grade- I spoke with the Embryo Specialist and she explained that 6-8 cells is considered good quality embies. That's why some clinics wait longer btwn tranfers.

Carolyn- Sounds like your belly is like mine. The brown blood sounds like implantation.Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope you had a happy anniversary. That was a funny story about the ovu kit- it was a sign. Maybe it is best to wait a few days more.

Em-It conforts me too to talk to my babies. Don't worry about just one glass of wine- Even when friends have the best intentions it can still be hard for us to deal with their reactions or just conversation topics. Remember your babies feel everything that you feel. Good luck.

Danielle- Congrats- one little angel! Its great that you got what you wanted.Good luck for the 9 mth ahead.

Brenda- How great your waiting for your 1st U/S.

Lucy- Congrats on your 5 eggs- It is quality that matters most. PMA!!!
Luby-Hope your EC went well.

Sammy- I was saddened to hear your BFN but impressed at how you handled your best friends weddings. You sound very strong. Your DH sounds very compasionnate. Take care of each other and good luck for the future.

Tlkmoser- so sorry to hear about your bad news. Take care of yourself.

Tasha- Looks like we're two days apart for ET. So we'll be testing aroud the same date. Mine's May 17th. How are you doing on your 2ww?

Natalie- I was quite impressed how you stood up to the nurse. That's great you got 3 wks off from work- you can focus all your energy on yourself. I'm happy I haven't been working. It helps with the stress.Good luck with EC on Monday. Keeping fingers crossed!!Lots of follies.

Heather- Lucybucy's advice is great 10mm after 3 days is grest- I had my 1st US for stimmies 9 days after I started and most of them were at 10-13mm. I used the hotwater bottle every night- which also helps with the bloating and aching.

Vess-Its OK to be sad but have faith and all will work out well- sending you a hug. Enjoy the shopping!

Prissy-How are you doing?

Lucybucy- Sounds like the follies are really growing! Only a few days more. Its worth the wait. Hang in there!

Dawn -welcome to the board! Its great to share with all the girls.

Lauralou- good news about your cyst- Good luck with stimms! It starts to go fast at this point.

My DH is checking up on me- got to back to the couch. Thanks everyone- catching up makes me feel better. Some of my friends don't seem to realy understand how stressful this 2ww can really feel- especially when they are pregnant. I know they try to understand- God bless them.

Hugs to everyone!

Hello Ladies,

Just a quick post from me today as I feel absolutely rotten and am looking for some advice.

Last night I started with flu type symptoms, really cold and aching body, so much so that I had to sleep in my PJs and dressing gown. When I woke this morning, I still felt terrible, keep running a temperature or feel cold, have diarrhoea and feel really sick. Also, nearly fainted on my way back from the bathroom this morning. Don't have any bloating or breathlessness but have absolutely no energy and my ovaries feel a bit sore and I also have some lower back pain.

I telephoned the hospital this morning, they seem to think I have a virus and have told me to take parecetamol. I have been in bed all day, sleeping on and off but still feel really sick this evening and am really hot. I know I'm not getting flu as I don't have a cold or sore throat.

I am on day 8 of stimms and have a scan on Monday morning. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms while on stimms? Should I be concerned or am I worrying about nothing?

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks
Wendy x

Hi Wendy

i had shivering, nausea and diarea last time and this time towards the end of stims. not had the flu like symptoms though so maybe they are nothing to do with your treatment and you just have a cold/flu type virus.

if it gets worse and you are really concerned i would call the clinic (assume they have an emergency no. for out of hours) but it sounds to me like the end of stims combined with a virus.

please try not to worry.

i've got to do my hcg trigger shot at 8.30pm uk time (in an hour) and although i've done it before, it was a while ago and i can't remember if it is meant to be subcutaneous or intramuscular or if it even matters!

any help much appreciated.

Hi Natalie,

Thanks for the advice, the flu-type symptoms have ceased but I still have the diarrhoea and nausea.

As for the HCG shot, I understand that it is to be done subcutaneous. I too have been injecting in the tops of my leags and will be doing the HCG the same way (if I get to that stage!).

Good Luck with the shot.

Hey Ladies!!

Wendy - I had the same symptoms for the 2nd and 3rd day of the stimmies. I feel much better now. My DH said he didn't detect a fever but I sure felt like it. I searched for the themometer every time I got a little bit of energy but couldn't find it so I have no clue if I actually had a temperature. Just take it easy for the weekend and let DH take care of you. Your body just may be saying "what the...." from all the drugs. Mine only lasted 2 days so hopefully you'll be feeling better tomorrow.

Natalie - I believe this is one of those evil intramuscular shots. Mine actually came with the needle and it is as big as my stimmie needle which is an intramuscular as well. If your DH hasn't done those yet just make sure you take a deep breath and he gets it all the way in. My DH counts down 3-2-1 and that helps cause I take my breath on two and I seem to be consentrating on the counting when it goes in. And just like any shot, the slower he pushes the med in, the better for you. I always lay there for a min. after to let the med sink in. At first I would get right up and some of the med would come out. This stuff's too darn expensive to be leaking out. Haha.

Good luck!

I've been ok today. We're having company in a few and DH is doing most of the work. I have a wonderful Roomba vacuum that cleans my carpet while I watch so I did that today. LOL.

Hope everyone's weekend is going great. Thanks soooooooo much for everyone's encouraging words. It really is helping me feel better to know that I'm not alone. I can't IMAGINE what I would do without you girls. I would be so lost and upset. Thank you - Thank you - Thank you!!

Morning Ladies

Natalie - that is exactly what I did for my trigger shot so sure that it will be fine. Good Luck for EC tomorrow. Hope that your decision to coast rather than take more stimmies means that you have lots of eggs but not so many that you have to face OHSS. Thinking of you.

Lucy - hope that you ET went well. Sure that you'll be quiet for a few days as you rest and recover. Where they able to freeze the 3rd little one for you? Thinking of you

Cyot - thanks for your kind words that means a lot to me. I find that if I can help other people out a little bit then it stops me worry about me. My way of coping I guess. Hope that ET goes really well for you today and that you will be back at home soon resting & recouperating. Don't worry about all the grading etc etc. You have lots which is a good start and they'll pick the best ones for you. Look after yourself & your little ones

Dania - Glad that you have been resting & have had dh looking after you. Sounds like you are doing all the right things. I felt swollen for a week after EC/ET but think that is common with lots of follies. I need to buy more pairs of jogging trousers!

Wendy - sorry that you have been feeling really rough. Does sound like a virus plus the cumulative build up of stimmies. As Natalie said if you are at all worried then call the hospital emergency number - that is what it is for. Hope that you are feeling better now. Good Luck for your scan tomorrow

Heather - hope that you managed to have a fun evening with your friends. Will they be able to help while your dh is away for training? Good luck for your scan tomorrow

Em - Hope that coffee & cake was not too painful. I am finding it hard to go out, other than with dh. Feel like I just want to stay in our little world together.

Lucybucy - I have lived in my pjyama bottoms & jogging bottoms. Been really hard to find clothes to wear to work that are big enough for me! I am hoping that your follies are growing. If your tummy is swollen then I am sure that is a good sign that you have a few and that they are growing

Vess - It is tedious having to keep going with stimmies. Sure that it is going to be worth it in the end.

Folly fairy for you & Lucybucy Image

Dawn - you must have started stimmies. How are you getting on?

Same for you Lauralou - Are you doing your own jabs? Getting on ok?

It does start going faster when you are on the stimmies - honest.

Prissy - really hope that you are enjoying the first few days of being pregnant. Let us know the date for your first scan.

Dh and I had a nice anniversary day yesterday - thanks for wishing us well. Although did make me think how very happy we were a year ago and before we knew about these issues. However, I feel that I have fallen off a cliff this morning. Started bleeding - exactly like I get 4/5 days before I start my period proper. So did HPT and it is negative of course. I know that ladies on here say that it is not over until the proper test on Wednesday but since Thursday have just felt 'too unpregnant'. I also keep flashing hot & cold and feeling feverish which I am sure cannot be a good sign. So floods of tears this morning with dh who of course was fantastic. But the nicer he was, the crappy I felt. At least I do not have to go to work today so can just sulk around at home. Not quite sure how I'll do at work over the next few days although at least this gives me some time to adjust. I know that I am really lucky that I have 6 frosties out of this cycle so that will be our next course of action I am sure. So plan will be to go on diet and lose the weight that I have put on, live our life together for a few months & then go again.

Sorry not to be the bearer of better news. It does make the odds better for everyone else.  :D

Take good care. Hoping to hear good news from all of you.
