Cassey - Welcome. I am really pleased that IVF has worked for you in the past. Good luck for this cycle.

To everyone else what ever stage you are at I hope that you are all well. I can't wait for my appointment tommorow for the baseline scan, although the appointment is for 7.30am Yikes!!! Hi gals! Off to my baseline appt in 1/2 hour. What am I to expect? Will they count follies? I think I start my stims tomorrow. I am nervous/excited. Now it is crunch time. :)

Angela and Zirly, good luck tomorrow with your baseline scans. Hopefully you will be able to start stimming v. soon - unlike me who had to wait AGES!!!!!!!!!!!
But, I am slightly confused....I know everyone's cycles are different but I thought baseline scan was to see if your ovaries are suppressed, no? In which case they should have no follies, right? At my 1st of 3 (I like to be awkward!) baseline scans there were a couple of follies still there which is why I had to downreg for so long, to get rid of them...
Anyway, my first follie scan tomorrow morning so I hope I will see lots of little follies growing in there....am very nervous :?
Anyway, GOOD LUCK to you both, let us know how you get on.
Love, hugs and PMA

Emma,
I am so excited for you for tomorrow. I bet you will have loads of follies there. Don't forget though on the first scan to see follies they might not see all of them first time round, 2nd scan a couple of days later tends to be more accurate on count aswell as size.

Best of luck pet.

Hey,
Zirly cant wait to hear how you get on...thinking of you..oo i would think if youve been on surpression you shouldnt have any follies yet...

ok i have to say i get confused here a bit i think our clinics have different terms for the same scans..
my first scan taken on day 3 of AF is called my basleline this is used to get a base reading of bloods, womb and ovies before starting any meds... my next is ovulation test... then after being on Lupron for approx 14 days i have another scan this is called a surpression check to make sure i have no follies or cysts..then after starting stimms i have a stimulation scan to measure my follies up until EC...

Emma i hope you have two bunches of grapes in there tomorrow  (ok my clinic say that they love to see ovies looking like a bunch of grapes) nice and full with follies.. but macca is right its the next couple of days that things change sooo much ...so excited for you

but i think some ladys stimming scan is called a baseline? ooo confused you will be...LOL

big hug ...read you soon Debz

Scan 2moro

Post by Welshgirl38 »

Hi girls,

I have been reading ur posts and was wondering if i could join in to wish everyone here the very best of luck in your treatment. :)
You seem such a nice group of people, just what i need right now.

I started my IVF treatment on 27th July, i started with the Superfact injectins and did these for 3 weeks, i then went for a scan and the lining of my uterus was lovely and thin, so i went ahead and started the menopur injections. :D I have been injecting these (aswell as the superfact) for a week now, and i have my scan tomorrow to see if everything is going ok.
I seem to be having aches tho :? like period pains, is this normal? I do hope so and that its a good sign, i would hate to have to stop treatment now.
My next scan after tomorrow - is on Sunday 27th and if all is well, egg retrival on Tuesday 29th. My DH and i have decided to only fertalize 2 eggs - the embroyoligist will pick the best 2 eggs and only fertalize these 2. Has anyone else made this decision, and how did it go?

Angela & Zirly,
Good luck with your baseline scans. Hope all goes well so you can start stimming.

Casey,
Welcome to the September ladies. You will have great success here.

Souris,
How are you doing honey. Missing you. Any news??

I'm starting to get bored now on this 2ww. My official test date is the 4th of September at clinic, which is 19dp3dt. They are crackers. I will do it approx 14dp3dt. I think they extend it to make double sure that someone is not pregnant before they stop pessaries. Some people take longer to show positives on HPT's and blood tests. I had a tiny tiny show of brown goo today and I mean tiny, barely could see it. (sorry TMI), similar yesterday morning too at same time approx. Hubby thinks it is implantation bleed where the tiniest bit comes away from womb lining when the embryos bury their way in. I hope so. I think it is far too early to be AF but you never know.

Hope everyone else is okay.
Love to all.

Hello all
You ladies have been busy.. Welcome to Casey and Welshgirl. You will find that this is a great thread with loads of supportive ladies with tons of info (like Macca and Aunty) they always help out with questions :D

Welshgirl one thing I have found is all different docs do things differntly with # of follies etc.. At my doc she wanted to put 4 fertilized embies back in. We only had the one little fighter embie last time so we only went with one.. So I guess this time if we have 4 (or more PMA PMA PMA) than she will probably suggest putting 4 back in... Thats a whole lot :o

Souris how are you doing dear. You have hubby with you right? I hope you are doing well..

Jemma that choclate sounds so yummy.. Are you still doing your walking? I am so impressed with you. You have kept up so good.. I love Paris Hiltons dog is really cute too.. I have not gotten our little guy yet but I am hoping for this weekend...DH is getting cold feet (all the responsoblity of a puppy) I had to break it too him that we have commited to a baby and thats going to be a heck of a lot more responsobility  I hope you are well honey..

Anglea and Zirly
Good luck with your scans I am sure they will go great :D

Emma your weekend sounded really lovely.. I am also hoping you have a whole big bunch of grapes (like Aunty said) :D

Lisa (Bella) it is nice to see you back with us.. Dont worry about being a little scared and nervous.. We have all been there and that is what we are for is to make eachother stronger.. Please know that we are all keeping the PMA for you... :D

Aunty
My dear how are you today? You are getting so close to starting your final IVF.. How is the volunteering going have you started yet? I can see you being so good at helping others.. We all come to you for support. Those will be very lucky people you will be helping....No puppy yet but hopefully this weekend.... :D :D

Love and Hugs

Macca (our mommy in waiting)
I had written this part and it deleted it off (how rude) I think it was operator error and I hit submit before I saved what I had written.. ANYWAY..I wanted to say I think that is a great sign that you have had the spotting I bet is the little ones getting all settled.. Its not AF at all. She has packed her bags and is gone for a long long time.. I cant wait you will be getting the BFP very soon..Hugs to you honey and just keep your feet up and give your little ones a little squeeze from me. :D :D :D

Oooo Macca that sounds so promising i have to say reading the posts the only time ive seen spotting mentiond especially brown its been a BFP im so excited i know this may sound nuts but im hoping to get some this time too (remind me i said that when the time comes) also the note about sore boobies with progesterone, i have always taken progesterone and only have sore BB'S for a few days nothing after so thats a great sign too
omg i cant believe they want to make you wait 19days my clinic does them 12p3dt which i think is too early but 19 days do you do a home test then? i think it should show by 14dp3dt

Aunty,

I am the most impatient person on earth. There is no way I will wait 19 days. I will probably do my first test around 13/14 at home and go see them for the beta test on the 19th. Although I have been warned by DH not to purchase a HPT. He will do it when the times right, so no sneaky ones for me or I will get my bottom spanked (now theres a thought!)

hi girls, i did try to reply yesterday but when i was inserting a smiley everything disappeared! Scan tom.

Lisa - those HPT!!! I have 2 left from last time. I said I'm not going to use them but we just want to know as soon as during the 2WW. You just read so many posts about ladies testing 2 early which increases stress levels - not good for growing embies. I'll just have to wait and see what we do.

Angela - good luck tom. Hopefully we'll both be on the right road for our stims. My app is 8am so hopefully it'll be quick so i can get back to work on time.

Jackie - how's the dog search going? My dog is my baby!

Good luck to everyone else. Paula x
